[Vizor PoV]

I paced back and forth in my cell, my tail lashing in boredom and frustration. I hated being trapped like this, unable to do as I please and go where I want.

"Pacing won't do anything, you realize that?"

My wife, Dawn, leaned against the wall, her pale yellow eyes staring at me.

"At least I'm doing something," I growled sharply, "Everyone here seems to have given up."

Dawn threw her hands up in frustration. "And there's a reason for that! These humans are the worst, I agree, but it's simply not possible to get out of here, not with the humans!"

"What else do you want me to do, let them shove us around and treat us like toys?"

"At least relax!"

I sighed. She was right, I'd been pretty tense lately. Especially since they separated us from Twilight and Dusk - it was really nagging at me to not know what they were doing.

I sat down on the floor, my head against the wall, looking up at the ceiling. God, this sucks.

Dawn sat down next to me, wrapping one of her tails around me and the other intertwining with my tail. "Hey. We'll make it through this, okay?"

I didn't reply.

A bang was heard on the cell door.

"Get up, freaks. Time for testing."

We were silent for a minute or two. The human outside made a sound of frustration.

"These two aren't cooperating again, can I get some help?" The human called.

Footsteps were heard as the door opened, and a few humans came in. I instinctively shot up and growled at them, wings flared and tail lashing. I hated humans before we were captured, but now I just want to murder them every time I see them.

One of them shot a taser-beam at me, and I screeched as pain flooded my limbs. I fell to my hands and knees, shaking.

They'd done that to me more than once, but I'll never get used to it.

I saw Dawn defensively growl at the humans before she darted over to me, helping me up and making sure I was okay - which I was, I was just in a lot of pain.

The humans grabbed us and dragged us along to the testing chamber, where I saw a few decoy abominations waiting, as usual. There was also another girl in there - she had black hair and wolf ears, and black demon wings. Her red eyes observed me carefully.

Weird.

The announcer came on as the humans left.

"You know the drill. Get to it."

A decoy came at me, and I easily melted into shadow to appear behind it, before slicing it in half with the dark red scythe I summoned from the air. Dawn used her tails to twist off the head of her decoy. The other girl's decoy suddenly dropped to the floor in fear before shriveling up in pain and dying.

Interesting.

Humans grabbed a hold of me once again, dragging Dawn and I out the door and throwing us harshly into our cell. I gave the door a swift bang with my hand before sighing, and sitting back down.

"If you don't stop doing that, the humans are probably gonna kill you," Dawn said, "Not listening to them, I mean."

I was about to reply when a new voice suddenly joined the conversation.

"Hello, you two."

I jumped, and looked to the source. It looked to be a slightly translucent version of the girl from testing.

"How did you-"

"Oh, I didn't escape. I'm in the cell next to you. This is a hologram of me."

That made sense.

"Who the hell are you?" Dawn asked her.

"My name's Butterflywing, but call me Butterfly," the girl stated.

I scoffed. "What kind of name is that?"

"No one asked!" Butterfly snapped. She blinked quickly a couple times before continuing. "Anyway, we have something in common. Humans are neither of our favorite species. I've decided to propose a deal."

My curiosity piqued, I said, "Continue."

Butterfly smiled. "It's about one of the new abominations. They call her Quicklight. Shares a cell with that orange guy with the flower-"

Dusk. Convenient.

"-I want you to help me kill her."

"You want me to kill some random person I've never even met before?" I asked.

"That is exactly what I'm asking."

"Alright. But what's in it for us?" I motioned towards Dawn to show the meaning of "us."

Butterfly smiled. "I'll kill anyone you ask."

"And how would you do that?"

"I have my ways."

I thought for a moment. "Could we maybe talk this over?"

"Of course," Butterfly said. She disappeared, leaving Dawn and I alone again.

"So. Killing. I'll do it if you give the okay," Dawn said, arms crossed.

"Something about this seems off," I said, "But she seems trustworthy, right?"

"I think so," Dawn shrugged.

We kind of conversed silently before called Butterfly back in.

"So? What's it gonna be?" Butterfly asked.

I shook my head. "Alright. Deal."
