"I didn't get a chance to use my best combat moves on him before he knocked me out. All that training. Sailil's going to be disappointed in me when she gets back," Popi said with a groan.

"No, she'll be glad you're alive. Wait, you're alive?" she blinked her eyes in surprise. "I'm so happy you're not dead, Popi," Dorothey hugged her as she alighted.

"Me, too. But not for the pain. It's going to take a while for me to recover. We'd better go back to the lab. I can get treatment there," Popi said wincing, leaning on Dorothey for support.

"No we can't someone has to be here to keep guard."

"You stay Dorothey. Luckily my Fury Wings were already retracted and are still intact. I can't pull in my fairy wings it's too painful with them singed like that and they'll slough off or disintegrate into nothing if I do. This will be a first with my Fury and fairy wings out at the same time. I've never done it before and I don't know if I can. I'm going to try," Popi said grimacing.

"If not, I can try to find a patch of salve trees around here somewhere to help soothe your pain."

"Even if you do, I won't be any good here keeping watch, especially if someone comes for a fight. And if I stay out here any longer I risk infection."

Popi let out a whistling howl as she let her Fury wings outstretch. Her fairy wings drooped like clumps of ash and moved wildly as if they were severed from her body like a lizard that'd lost its tail. The nerves in them were still alive. She felt the constant shooting trickle of pain in them.

Her torso throbbed and stung almost as much as her fairy wings did. Her Fury wings flapped in the breeze. She scowled and let out a guttural whimper as the wind caught her fairy wings and seemed to slice through them never letting her forget how tender they are from the slightest to the harshest touch.

Dorothey turned toward the skull lock rattling so hard and loud it was on the edge of busting loose. She raised her hand about to use her magic, but she thought of what had transpired earlier with Fifer o'clock, JackabyRyan, her and Popi and what Fifer o'clock said about using magic when involving the Death Storyteller Realm. It would only make the situation worse not to mention it'd be breaking the laws of the Death Storyteller territory, if she were to interfere.

"After all, it was my magic in the fight with JackabyRyan that caused the lock to be disturbed," she said realizing the truth and consequences of her actions. She extended her index and pinkie fingers while holding her middle and ring fingers down with her thumb creating the sign. "I curse my witchcraft power from now until I'm twenty-one." And the contract was sealed.
