Namjoon's POV

"Welcome to my workplace," greeted Namjoon as Hana entered his studio. He was really looking forward to meeting her that night and was hiding his anxiousness at the site when the photoshoot dragged on. Some of his members headed straight home after the shoot while Namjoon and Yoongi opted to go to their studio at the company building. He didn't want to make her stay at work longer than she needed to and he knew she would always go home late. She was near but yet so far. Since they weren't overseas, they didn't need much translating and Hana spent more time in the marketing and public relations department.

"This room is amazing," said Hana as she looked around her.

Namjoon looked around his room again, hoping he didn't leave anything embarrassing anywhere. The room was clean and nothing was out of order. His prized figurines and books were lined perfectly in the rack and his wood-panelled work station was only marred with some papers. For him, it was cosy, warm and inviting.

"It's nothing," Namjoon shyly scratched his head. "Have a seat," he motioned to the sofa before pulling his work chair near to the table with his notes. He turned as he drank in his sight of Hana and paused. She looked as if her mind was occupied with something else and something was off. "Are you okay?"

"I'm fine. Why?" Hana blinked at his question and he could almost see her shutting a part of her and he didn't like it that much.

"You look... I don't know... different."

"I'm fine, really," Hana waved lightly and pulled something out of her backpack. She paused as she eyed the table and looked at him with her hands still inside her bag. "Have you ever used this for eating?" Hana changed the subject quickly and Namjoon noticed that. She'd probably didn't want to talk about what was bothering her and he didn't want to push her.

"Sometimes. Most of the time I ate there, at my workstation," he said, nodding to the direction of his desk.

"Dude, this is a piece of art and you eat on it?" Hana was aghast.

"It's a coffee table," stated Namjoon. "Besides, you haven't seen what the other member has done to it."

"What did they do?"

"Normal stuff that you do to a table. Sit on it, rest their feet on it -"

"They don't," Hana's jaw dropped. "Who did that?"

"Hana, it's just a table. I like how it looks, and I want to enjoy it as it is - a coffee table," Namjoon stated. "Sorry for keeping you at work until late."

"Don't be. I'm happy to help."

"I'll make sure we'll be done here before midnight."

"Are we going on Cinderella shifts here?" Hana joked.

"Cinderella shift?" Namjoon was confused.

"You know, midnight - poof! The carriage turned back to pumpkin and all that," Hana explained referring to the famous fairy tale.

"Oh that. No, it's just that the taxi fares would be much more expensive after midnight and as you know, I don't drive... I can't send you home," Namjoon sighed. "Wait, maybe I was a bit rash asking you to come here, I didn't think much further than that."

"Dude, if you're going to ask me to go home now when I just got here, I might punch you right this instant," Hana warned.

"What do you mean? Weren't you already here at work?" Namjoon looked at her in confusion. Did he get his day mixed up? He was really sure it was not the weekend.

"Didn't I tell you that I don't work like regular office workers? Today's my off day. Anyway, I've already brought my work clothes for tomorrow and will stay at the office if it gets too late."

Namjoon felt like a heel at that moment. "Why didn't you tell me you're not working today?"

"Because it doesn't matter and I'm free. You're the one who never seemed to stop and relax at all," Hana pointed that out.

Namjoon felt like dirt and was out of words when Hana continued. "Don't feel bad. It's not as if I haven't pulled an all-nighter here before."

"If that's your idea of making me feel better, you're failing at it," Namjoon replied.

"Are we going to start arguing now that I'm here and want to help? I work in this building anyway," Hana stood her ground.

"That's different, a job is a job and I'm here asking for a favour," he motioned to his studio.

"Nope, this is way better," Hana smiled at him.

"How so?"

"I like hanging out and working with you. I don't have to hide and I can tell others I'm helping you with translating as that's my job here if they ask," Hana reasoned. "I know this would ruin your diet, but this is for you. As tonight's appetizer or your midnight snacking," she changed the subject and handed him a bag of gummy candy and some tangerines.

"You shouldn't have. I only got this for you," he handed her favourite Twix bars in return.

"You are a lifesaver!" Hana grinned widely as she unwrapped the candy and ate it. "Sorry, I forgot I haven't eaten anything since... was it this morning?" she pondered.

"That was hours ago and I know you would hate it if I start on being a bore for telling you to take care of your health."

"Says a person who is constantly on a strict diet and skips meals altogether for the sake of work," Hana snickered.

"Who sometimes says it could go to hell and proceeded to get his own meal way off the diet plan," Namjoon added quickly.

Hana raised her hands in defeat. "Okay, I know that. I was confused when you sent me those pictures of food you had until I realised those were the times you cheated."

"I don't cheat," Namjoon huffed.

"On people, I don't think so. On food, dude, don't get me started. I saved you from that jjajjangmyeon that you inhaled years ago."

"You still remember that?" he flushed.

"How can I forget? It's the first time we met."

"Well, anyway let's order something. What are you in the mood for?" Namjoon scrolled on his phone for the delivery app.

Hana looked at him, trying to keep a straight face and gave him a cheeky face full of mischief as he looked at her in askance. He raised his brow in question and Hana just burst into laughter.

"What?" he asked.

Hana just waved away. "You do know that kind of question would usually be responded to with a lame and predictable answer."

"What?"

"You."

"Me?"

"Yes. You," Hana laughed.

"Me what?" Namjoon was perplexed. Why was she laughing?

"Forget about it" Hana ended with a trace of laughter. "Do they still do delivery at this hour? It's near 10."

Namjoon tsked at her, "This is South Korea. Some of the restaurants here even do 24-hour delivery. Didn't anyone at the marketing order food when you guys worked throughout the night?"

"I never asked and I didn't eat that much when I'm working. Hey, that bulgogi kimbap looks fine. Less messy too," Hana pointed to the food on his mobile phone.

"Okay," Namjoon put that in order and placed his phone on the table. "So... do you like Ko Min Gu?" he trod lightly.

"Ko Min Gu? Why?"

"You asked me about him that day, so, I was just asking."

"What if I do?"

Namjoon felt his heart breaking. Was what he heard the night before just a drunk talk? Didn't they say people were more truthful when they were drunk? Or was it just plain gibberish? "I'll help you."

"Help me to get close to him?"

Namjoon felt like he had a big lump in his throat. "Yes," Namjoon looked at his phone pretending to check on the delivery status as he hid his expression, hoping that he won't make a fool out of himself in front of Hana that he missed the mix of emotions playing in Hana's eyes.

"That's good," Hana answered. "I'll return the favour when it's your turn."

"Cool," Namjoon replied curtly. They went silent for a while and they could almost hear a pin drop.

Hana then drew in a long sigh. "Dude, I was asking you about him for a friend in the department who has a crush on him," Hana finally said.

"Really?" Namjoon raised his head.

"Yes. The girl is head over heels for him and I just don't want her to be taken advantage of. She would walk over coals of fire if he wanted her to in a heartbeat. That's why I asked."

"Oh."

"And I've worked with him. From my observation, he's a good guy and rests assured, he's not my type," she continued.

"Who's yours then?"

Hana was about to answer when Namjoon's phone rang before she could.

"Food is here. How about you go through this while I go and get food," he suggested as he passed her the notes he was working on.

"Okay," Hana took the notes after she finished off her Twix bar.

Namjoon turned to her at the door and watched her start to concentrate on the writings on the notepad. She flashed him a huge grin when Namjoon placed their meal on the table. They worked through the late dinner and they worked seamlessly with them bouncing off their ideas on the words and nuances suitable to the message Namjoon wanted to deliver with his song. He definitely loved the sight of Hana bobbing her head softly to the guide song he played countless times. He was self-conscious about it at first, knowing he couldn't hit the high pitch and he might sound funny but she didn't say anything about it. She just looked at him and told him she liked it and her unprofessional ears loved it a lot.

Namjoon went back and forth from the coffee table to his workstation that he didn't realize Hana was silently dozing off on the couch with her feet still on the floor and her back reclining on one of the throw pillows. Her hand was still holding the pencil and the notepad was close to falling off on the floor.

He didn't have the heart to wake her up and honestly, he didn't want her to leave.

Namjoon took off her shoes and laid her on the couch properly so that she would be more comfortable. He then dimmed the lights in the studio and went back to his workstation feeling more driven to finish off the song. He even had some tunes playing in his head that he was keen to work on.

He felt lighter and happier.

*******************************

Hana's POV

Hana was freezing and gradually woke up to the sound of someone snoring. That someone was none other than Namjoon. She looked around and realized she slept while she was working with Namjoon. She glanced at the clock and saw it was nearly 6 am. She didn't sleep that long but she felt refreshed. She then turned to the loud snoring guy lying on the sleeping bag placed right beside the couch. He obviously pulled the coffee table away before he laid down in his slumber. Hana recalled his offer to help her with Ko Min Gu which made her feel hollow.

A person would only help their friend to get closer to someone when they're just that. Friends. She felt an utter dislike for that word at the moment. That certainly put her in her place. She's just a friend to him, nothing more than that. She looked at him and felt her eyes getting wet. That was how it should be and she should just accept it. Should she?

Hana was on another mission and she needed to complete it. She didn't have much time when she was in college and it had been delayed for years. Her meeting the day before seemed fruitless. The person in charge of the place couldn't give her enough information and gave her the address of the former manager who worked there years before. Hana made a note to look for the person as soon as she could as she need to get answers that have been nagging her throughout her life.

She would be flying out again and time was precious.
