The young princess, Poppy, pushed through the bushes until she reached the hillside, as promised, she saw her true love waiting for her.

Poppy: Psst! Branch!

Branch turned around and smiled when he saw his love in the bushes, he took her hand and helped her out.

Branch: Are you alone?

Poppy: Yeah, my dad's asleep, I snuck out. You weren't followed either, right?

Branch: No, I'm clear too.

Poppy: Good...

The two sat under a tree, their hands tightly intertwined.

Poppy: Branch...

Branch: What?

Poppy: How long are we gonna be able to keep this a secret? Our families are gonna find out at some point.

Branch: I know, Poppy, but even if they do find out, we don't have to be ashamed about it.

Poppy: You think so?

Branch: Besides...

He lightly placed a hand over Poppy's stomach.

Branch: Your dad will have to come to terms with it.

Poppy: I know, it's just...being a princess is the worst...especially when your father promised you to a stuck up Troll you don't even love. And...well...with this baby on the way, I don't know what could happen. I really hate Creek, he's such a coward, and all he wants is the throne.

Branch: I've seen him, Poppy, I'm pretty sure he's only obsessed with you because he sees you as a golden ticket.

Poppy: Exactly, but my dad is too blind to see it, he kept saying that he loves me, he's been watching me from afar, but I know the truth.

Branch: Which is...

Poppy: He's been spying on me for the last 4 years, Branch.

Yikes! That's a terrible thought to have on you, a princess being spied on for so long?! And all he cared about was the fame! Of course, that wasn't Branch, he loved Poppy, but he respected her privacy and they could only meet in secret because no one approved of Poppy's choice. She wanted Branch as her future king...plus, they couldn't stop seeing each other, they had a child on the way.

Branch: Hey, look at me.

Poppy turned to Branch and he placed a hand on her cheek.

Branch: I don't care what your dad has to do to stop us, because he won't, you and me, we're meant to be. Understand?

Poppy nodded and hugged Branch tightly, quietly crying in his shoulder. All she wanted was the freedom to choose her own king, not someone who she clearly saw as a threat. Maybe someday...the other Trolls would finally understand how much they truly loved each other, and not choose love based off of class. Although Branch wasn't rich, he did have a heart. And although Poppy was royal, she wasn't stuck up and picky, she knew what her heart wanted. The two lovers looked around for moment, no one was around, thank goodness they weren't being spied on. It was quiet for a moment before they burst into song.

Poppy suddenly gasped when she saw the sun rising in the distance, she knew what that meant.

Poppy: Branch...I have to go.

Branch: I know, we'll come back here tomorrow night, I promise I'll wait for you.

Poppy: And I'll be here as soon as I can. See you soon...

The two shared a soft kiss before parting, reluctantly letting go of each other's hands, hopefully the others would see the light and come to terms with the princess's choice, she knew who she loved, and knew he had a good heart. But as most people would probably say, love conquers all. 🩷💙
