Today has been such a sad day. A terrible storm came last night, so I couldn't do much of my planning of my writing, so I went to bed early. But this wasn't the actual sad thing. The sad thing happened when I woke up this morning. I got an unexpected call from Poppy who was crying loudly on the phone. She told me about the huge tree named Mia had been struck by lightning and it broke in half. So, we had such a funeral for Mia the Oak Tree. 

The funeral session was throughout the day and the ceremony was almost 2 hours. Poppy couldn't stop crying, telling me that the tree had been there since she was a child. It touched me for a bit after she told me the story on how she watched it grow throughout her life. Smidge cried too. Pretty much everyone cried. I didn't know that this tree really touch everyone too. I hugged Poppy and Smidge, telling them that it was okay, and we all hugged for Hug Time.

Me on the other hand had a few memories of Mia. I remembered when Poppy mention that it was her name, the time I read a book under this tree, and the time that Mia's oak branch broke due to the storm last year. I was surprised that everyone was eating cake after the ceremony, but I learned that the cake was traditional to funerals like this in our Troll World. It was Blackout Cake. Chocolate was the main ingredient and I was a bit scared because I thought this cake would actually make me pass out and send me to the hospital. 

But Smidge explained that the cake was so good that it would feel like you want to pass out, but everything would be fine. So, when I tried the cake, I was good. I didn't pass out thank goodness, but it was soo good that I felt like I was in daydream mode for three minutes. Although it was such a sad day, we had cake together and talked and laughed about memories we had together with Mia. It's good to spread memories when it comes to keeping one's spirit alive, especially Mia.

Yeah, and so I'm sleeping over at Poppy's Pod and we'll be writing together and then watch a light-hearted romance movie tonight. So, I'm going to journal tomorrow. Goodnight.
