Me and Sunny made it to the gates of the Bergens' town. I took a quick glance of what's inside. Bergens were roaming around; bored, miserable, tired and emotionless, mostly depressed. I guess we found our people. I also looked at guards guarding the gate. They're asleep. I smiled and looked over at Sunny looking over at the walls surrounding the town. They were covered in arts of vandalism. Though, they looked pretty cool. Still can't believe that guards fall asleep while on their shift.
"Can you believe it?" Sunny asked.
"Believe what? The guards?"
"No. Guards always sleep. I mean the Bergens..." we both looked at the Bergens again. Their frowns were big and wide that reached almost the chin of their heads.

"They're... sad," Sunny frowned as well.
"Yeah, which still means that Bergens can't eat trolls," I stated and sighed to myself. I heard one of the guards snoring awake and jolted up. Sunny and I quickly hid by leaning more against the wall beside the gates where the guards were.

"Hey Chad," one guard said.
"Yeah, Todd?" The other guard said, waking up.
"Wanna way pizza?"
"Mr Starfunkle's Pizzeria, Rollerblade and Arcade?" The guard asked, his face lit up.
"Yep," then they both left the gates. This truly is a depressing place.

"Cmon," I signaled Sunny to come follow me towards the castle that had long and tall stairs ahead of it. We used our hair to get there quickly by making a hair-elevator. Eventually, we reached the top. This town was way different than I thought it was. I know I can't assume things, but I've studied Bergens for years. Not to brag or anything. But Bergens have a certain type of personality which is kinda strange. How has any Bergen eaten a troll... become happy?

We entered the castle from a mouse hole and made it to the only place where the rest of the trolls would be which is the kitchen. I looked around and listened to the sound of silence.
"Captain Beatrice?" Sunny whispered.
"Yeah?"
"I don't think they're here..." he sighed. I shook my head and said, "No, no. They HAVE to be here."

I grabbed onto the giant curtain attached to a window near the mouse hole and climbed it. Sunny sighed and followed me. I couldn't bare the thought of having them not here. It would disappoint me. But slightly not because... River's there. I suddenly had an image in my head of River standing at the edge of a cliff as I pushed her off and yelling Good riddance!
I despised her, to summarize it.

I then hopped onto the table and didn't see a single troll around us. My heart stopped. My jaws tightened and I started sweating. We're too late...
"Beatrice..."
"They're gone..." I said quietly. Sunny walked up to me and put his arm on my shoulder.

"It's okay... I'm sure they're still out there," he reassured me. Suddenly, his arms were around me in a tight embrace. I didn't know why I felt so sad and guilty that they weren't here. I shouldn't be feeling like this. But why?

"I—I don't understand," I sighed and resisted to hug back. I had no time for stuff like this. It just rages me for some reason. My fists clenched. I failed. We failed.
I looked around again to make sure. Then in a distance, I saw something in the shape of a microscope. I squinted my eyes and walked closer. I was right. It was a microscope. I could finally examine the blue strand of hair!

I smiled widely and turned to Sunny. He was staring up at a painting of Bergens eating a meal of trolls. I'm pretty sure it terrified him because he never said a word for 5 minutes. I chuckled and stood beside him to look up at the painting as well.
"This is gonna happen to them if we don't find them," Sunny whispered. I nodded my head.
"We should really get going," I looked at the microscope from 5 miles away.

"Beatrice," He said quietly.
"Yeah, Sun?" I looked back at him.
"If we don't get back and turn into Bergen food..." he sighed and looked at me and said, "I just wanted you to know that I'm glad you agreed to come along with me. Without you, I would've been dead already." He chuckled.

I couldn't help but smile and chuckle. My cheeks burned ever so slightly. Here we go again Shut up No, no. You have to tell him now No not now, we're in a serious situation But what if you don't make it back? We will you'll see I'll see it when I believe it. Sunny doesn't need to know just now Yes he does. You love him Which isn't an excuse to be goofing around. But—
"Beatrice? You okay?" I snapped out of my thoughts. It kinda scared me that even my own thoughts threatened me. I sighed to myself.

"Yeah, I'm okay. Thanks," I said and started heading towards the microscope. Sunny sighed and followed me. Honestly, I have no problem with Sunny not knowing how I actually feel. He's my best friend. My only friend that I could trust.

Everything we ever did together, it warmed my heart. Even though it seems like I don't have one. But you can't prove that I have a heart. Sunny already stole it.

I smiled to myself as I finally reached the microscope. Of course, it was Bergen-sized so I climbed up and reached for the pillar. I took out the strand of blue hair and laid it down on the glass platform. I looked through the microscope and examined it very intently. Sunny watched me as I did so, it didn't bother me at all. Of course.

Each atom, each DNA, each specific particle of this strand is legitimate. I backed away and took the strand.
"So," Sunny looked at me for an answer. I turned to him and smiled widely.

"It's real."
