Scarlett's POV

Trigger Warnings: Homophobia, slight violence

A thud ensued from inside the house as soon as the front door closed.

"What the hell was that?" I asked, panic rising in my chest. I rushed up the stairs, only to be met with the mother's lanky body blocking the door.

"You're not going anywhere." She folded her arms across her chest and glared at me with the piercing stare of a hawk.

"Get. Out. Of. My. Way," I said through gritted teeth. The mother didn't budge a muscle.

"And I said you're not going anywhere near my house, you demonic piece of trash," she spat at me.

"What the fuck did you just call me?" Fury rose in my voice.

"You're the one who is brainwashing my daughter into believing that she likes girls." The mother bared her teeth. "I don't accept the likes of you."

"Oh yeah? Well guess what, Ma'am, your daughter isn't-"

My words were cut off when I heard a car dash out of the garage. It sped down the driveway, smoke drifting from its tires. Despite the speed, I caught a glimpse of Andrew at the wheel.

Everything clicked for me at that moment. I knew that Audrey was in the backseat, and that thud I had heard earlier was her. She was being kidnapped, and I let it happen.

"Hey! Where the fuck do you think you're going?" I yelled as I ran after the speeding car. I picked up a rock and threw it, missing the bumper by just a few feet.

I chased after the vehicle until the gates opened to let it through, and closed immediately after. The skidding of tire marks and burst of nitro let me know that it's time to think of some other strategy.

I knew it. I fucking knew that Andrew would have something up his sleeve. I mean, what else was expected of him? And I let her walk in there like a fool. Her life was in danger, and it's all because of me.

"Where the fuck is he taking her?" I demanded when I retraced my steps and reached Audrey's car, which was useless to me, because she had taken the keys with her.

"You think I'm going to tell you anything, you swine?" The mother scoffed, an evil smile curling upwards on her stupid face.

"Where." I repeated again, each word in sync with every step I took. "Is. He. Taking. Her?"

I stopped when I had reached the top and was standing no more than a foot before her. That smirk on her face, with the monstrous glare, only increased the anger inside of me.

"Nice try, bitch." The mother grinned.

And that's when I slapped that smirk off her.

She gasped when my palm made contact with her cheek, the sound slicing through the air like a blade. Her hand flew to the growing red mark as her eyes widened at me before she attempted to swing a punch at me. I dodged it by sidestepping and grabbed her wrist. I forced it behind her back before shoving her forward, causing her face to slam into the front door with a bang.

"Open the fucking door," I said in her ear. At her grunt of refusal, I twisted her arm, emitting a wince together with the cracking of frail bones. "I know you have the keys. Open the door, or I'll break your fucking arm."

With her free hand, she pulled out the keys from her side pocket and inserted them into the keyhole. It took a few tries as her trembling hand kept missing the hole. The door finally clicked open, and I turned the doorknob before pushing her inside. She stumbled over the footstep.

I exhaled in annoyance as I grabbed her arm to prevent her from falling to the ground as I looked around the foyer. It was spacious, with a round, mahogany table in the middle. A fancy stairway weaved its way upwards, the steps of a beige color. I glanced into the room on the right, which turned out to be a modern kitchen.

With that, I led the mother into the living room, where I shoved her into a brown leather chair. It creaked as she plopped onto the cushion. I snatched the cords from both of the lamps standing on the small glass tables, causing them to crash to the ground. The mother winced when they shattered into pieces, but I didn't care as I restrained her hands to the chair.

"Is this how you greet your partners' mothers?" the mother asked when I finished tying her up.

"Nope. Only the bitchy ones," I replied in a snarky tone. I walked in front of her and folded my arms. "Now, are you going to tell me what are your plans for Audrey?"

"That whore will deserve what she's got coming." The mother grinned, her blood stained teeth glinting at me under the lighting.

I took a deep breath to calm down the urge to slap her again, perhaps even punch her. I'd be doing her a favor actually, since half her teeth were brown and a quarter of them were replaced with blackened holes.

Maybe somebody else punched all her teeth out, I thought.

"It's funny that you talk about your own daughter that way. Let me guess, your own mommy didn't love you, did she?" I snorted.

Her expression dimmed as she pursed her lips into a thin line.

"I'm doing Audrey a favor. She doesn't need to be influenced by bitches as yourself," she spat.

"Oh, but it's fine to have her ex-boyfriend, who abused her by the way, to kidnap her to some unknown place, huh?"

"It's better than being with a homo."

I knew that it was useless to argue with this woman. And all I was doing was wasting my time on her when I should be figuring out how to find Audrey. There could be a way to track Andrew's phone, but I didn't have the skills. But I knew who did.

Audrey had mentioned that her friend Vivian was a whiz at computer stuff, but I didn't have her phone number. Unless... wait a minute, didn't Audrey leave her phone in the car? I knew she had a passcode, but I could probably figure it out... right?

"Where are you going? Already leaving like a coward, huh?" The mother called out as I walked out of the living room.

"None of your fucking business. And if you move, I swear to God, I will kill you."

"God doesn't -"

I didn't hear the rest as I slammed the front door behind me. Thankfully Audrey's car was unlocked as I opened the driver's side and climbed inside. I grabbed her phone and turned it on. A recent image of us showed up on her lock screen. It was a photo where we were standing in front of a sunset, my hands around Audrey's waist as its rays landed perfectly on her face. We were facing each other, her arms on my shoulders..She was wearing a smile that could light up a thousand skies. She was happy, content, and I'd be damned if I let anything happen to her.

I reluctantly swiped up and of course, I was prompted to enter the password. I tried Audrey's birthday, favorite actress, all to no avail. With one last try left, I thought hard about anything else. What could she have used as a password that could hold enough significance?

That's when one particular word came into mind.

I typed in "Pistachio" and I was in. I chuckled to myself at that, considering it was our safe word. I quickly went into contacts and pressed on Vivian's name. She answered on the second ring.

"Hey!" she said. She sounded nothing like I thought she would. I had seen a picture of her. Vivian looked a lot similar to one of those small K-POP girl groups. What was their name... Gidle or girdle or something. Her voice was... deeper and more... brattish.

"Hi, is this Vivian?" I asked.

"Uh... yeah... um, who is this?" her voice carried a confused tone. I could hear other people talking in the background.

"It's Scarlett, her... girlfriend?" I replied, unsure if Audrey had actually told Vivian of our real relationship status.

"Oh, hey, Scarlett! Yeah, what's up? Why are you using Audrey's phone? Wait, did somethin' happen? She mentioned that she was going to her mother's house today." She spoke really fast, her words bunched together in a blur.

"That's what I'm calling about. Andrew... he kidnapped her-"

"He what?" Vivian yelled. I winced as I held the phone away from my ear. "Hold on, let me go somewhere quieter."

Bustling sounds came from the earpiece before the chatter disappeared. "Okay, so you're telling me that son of a bitch kidnapped Audrey?"

"Yes. I-"

"Did you call the police?" She interrupted.

"Do you really think the police are going to do shit about it? Look, I'm calling you because Audrey mentioned you have device skills."

"Yeah, so?"

"So, you can track his phone right?"

Silence.

"Yeah... I can... wait, are you suggesting we handle this on our own?"

"At least until we find her. Look, I'm at her mother's place, so whether or not you're going to come here, I'm going to find Audrey. And I know, this isn't how I wanted to meet you, but do you think there's any better way?"

Vivian breathed through the earpiece.

"No... okay, I'll be there in about half an hour."

Once we hung up, I called Carmen.

"Hey, Scar!" her heavy Colombian accent drifted through the speaker.

"Carmen, I'm sorry for calling you like this, but I need your help."

"Omg, did something happen?" she asked, her voice immediately changing to a concerned tone.

"Audrey is gone, Carmen. Her fucking boyfriend took her. Look, I'll send you the address of where I am, but I need you to help me. I can't do this on my own, and it would be better if I had help. Please?"

"Of course! Girl, I'm there for you! Send the location, and I'll be there ASAP!"

"Thanks, Carmen."

After I sent the location to Carmen, I walked back inside the house to check on the mother. She was still securely tied to the chair, not that she could break out of it even if she tried. The woman looked as if one wrong turn would break her bones in half.

I approached her and, ignoring her venomous glare, reached into her pocket and took out the gate opener remote.

"Thanks, I need this," I said.

"What do you think you are doing?" the mother questioned.

"None of your fucking business." I retorted before walking back outside and sitting down on the stairs.

I opened the photo gallery in my phone and scrolled through the dozens of photos of me and Audrey. Before I knew it, hot tears started sliding down my face. My breath shuddered as I looked at Audrey's face, one which I could never get tired of looking at.

She's the one who brought me out of my unhealthy way of coping with what my ex did to me. She's the one who brought sunshine and warmth into my life. She's the one who made me feel all those feelings of love once again. I've learned to trust again, despite her lies at the beginning.

Audrey fought to be with me. She was willing to risk her life to stand up to Andrew, after what he did, and stand up to her mother, who I discovered today is the spawn of Satan.

I will fight for her. And I didn't care of the consequences, of anything. She was worth fighting for, and I will do anything to get her back.

I'll fucking kill for her.

About forty minutes passed by before a red car drove up to the gate and honked. I opened it using the remote. The Jeep pulled up and parked near the entrance.

Vivian jumped out of the driver's side and waved to me. She looked exactly like the photos, except she was...tiny.

I was about to approach her when my heart stopped as someone else stepped out of the passenger side.

That fucking red hair and blue eyes.

"You... what the fuck are you doing here?"
