A/N: This was suppose to be publish on my birthday but it's an early special for you guys, I guess. Finally, it's done.

▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬

I opened my eyes, seeing a bright light in front of me. Am I dead? Looking at my surroundings, there was still a little bit of darkness surrounding me. Blinking a few times, my sight got a bit clearer than before. But still, it was a bit hazy for me to picture the place.

Where am I?

Looking back at the bright light, it approached me and kneeled. I heard someone snapping their fingers as I kept on blinking just to see who it was. Still, it was all just a blur.

"Hey, can you walk?" he asked as I groaned, trying to do what he asked. I didn't really know who this guy was since I can't see his face but I know that he was trying to help me. But, that voice really sounds familiar.

Trying to stand on my own, I felt an immense pain coursing through my body – making me fall down once again on the cold wooden floor. Groaning a bit, I still tried. I could hear him sigh as he then took a hold of my arm before helping me up. When he did, the pain became unbearable.

Putting a hand on my chest, I groaned. He must've noticed since I could feel our pace becoming much faster than before. We both walked through the hallway as a bright light shone from the windows. Suddenly, I felt weak. Falling down on my knees, I could feel someone tapping on my shoulder.

"Hey, don't give up on me now. We're almost there, alright? Just a few more steps," he said as I gave him a nod, feeling his hand helping me back up on my feet. He then tried to keep me up my feet – helping me walk towards the door.

With a little bit of strength, I felt him leaving me on the campus floor.

"This is as far as I could go. Don't die right on that ground, you hear me? Jun still needs you."

After his remark, I closed my eyes – feeling a bit tired. And a few minutes later, I could hear some people yelling and sets of footsteps rushing towards me.

"We found another student, chief!"

"He's still breathing, sir!"

"Get the medics in here, now!"

And suddenly, I couldn't hear them anymore.

  ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬

I slowly opened my eyes, adjusting on the bright light right above me. Where am I? I swore that I was on the ground earlier. Feeling something on my hand, I tried to sit up. When I couldn't, I moved a bit and saw someone sleeping on a chair - a hand intertwined with mine. It was a girl.

She was facing me, her eyes closed as I blinked – taking in the details. She had a short dark brown hair that reached her shoulder, wore thin round glasses on her eyes, a long sleeved blue dress and owned a DSLR camera that was right next to her. A nurse then opened the door, suddenly smiling at me when she saw that I was already awake.

"So, you're finally awake. How do you feel?" she asked as I looked back at the girl, seeing her stir before going back to sleep. I looked up, seeing the nurse fixing the wires before giving me some water.

After taking the oxygen mask off – making sure to ask the nurse first - I moved up a bit as she adjusted my bed, calmly took the cup of water from her hands and drank it, feeling the warm sensation going down my throat. Sighing, I answered her question.

"I feel a little bit better now, miss. But, um, I'm still a bit tired." She just gave me a smile before looking at the sleeping girl.

"How long was she here?" I asked as she quickly glanced at me.

"Oh, she's been here for about five hours now. She keeps on visiting you for a few days, you know. Even if she keeps on violating the hospital rules – most specifically, the visiting hours – she never stops coming back in here and trying to convince the doctors to let her stay. " I then chuckled as she took a medicine and gave it to me. Giving me another cup of water, I drank it along with the medicine.

"You must be a really lucky guy to have her," she said as she took a glance at the sleeping figure next to me. I then smiled at her remark before giving her a nod.

"I'm very lucky indeed."

After the little chit chat we had, she then bid goodbye – leaving me and her alone. Chuckling, I slowly brushed her hair with my hand.

"Even after our little incident, you're still trying to pick up a fight with the doctors. You're really unbelievable," I said as I then caressed her face. Trying to sit upright, I groaned a bit – making her stir in her sleep. When I saw her blinking a bit, I tried to act as if I was still asleep – putting back my oxygen mask for effect.

I then heard her sigh as she took a hold of my hand, gripping it softly before crying.

"Please wake up, Akio. Please, don't leave me." She sobbed as I felt a bit bad on tricking her. "I don't know what I would do if I lose you."

"I know that I had been selfish on trying to act like I didn't notice you dropping out the hints but I just wanted to say that I'm very, very sorry. I'm very sorry that I didn't confess to you sooner. I mean, it was right there. And I acted like I didn't even notice it."

"I'm so sorry for being so dumb and careless about your feelings and everything that ever happened on that academy," she said as I was thinking if I should open my eyes or wait a few minutes longer. Deciding, I waited for a few minutes for her to finish.

"I know that I've been the reason why you're here but please, don't give up. I don't want to lose you. Please, not like this." Feeling a bit bad, I almost opened my eyes. But her next statement made me stop and feel like I was on cloud nine. I wasn't expecting her to say this but she did.

"I love you, Akio Daichi."

Smiling a bit, I then opened my eyes – making her gasp and jump a bit on her seat. Her eyes widened as I gave her the same sweet smile that I've been giving her. After she calmed down a bit, I answered her little remark.

"Say it again, please. I want to hear it."

"I love you, Akio Daichi."

"Say it again."

"I love you so much."

"Again."

"I love you, Akio."

After that, I took the oxygen mask off me, grabbed her hands and pulled her towards me – finally making her mine by sealing it with a kiss. I then felt her other hand on my chest as I made her lay down next to me, wrapping my arms around her to pull her closer. A few minutes later, we pulled away – smiling and looking into each other's eyes.

"Were you pretending to be asleep this whole time?" she asked as I shook my head before chuckling.

"Not really. I was asleep but I woke up much earlier than you. I just took my medicine from the nurse too," I replied as she smiles, her hands still on my chest. When she noticed that we were still on the hospital, she then frowned - probably remembering what happened.

Before she could even say anything, I kissed her again.

When I pulled away, I shook my head at her. She tried to reason with me but I raised my finger to silence her. She then lays her head on my chest as I sighed; knowing that she still feels bad about what happened.

"Don't blame yourself, alright? It was my decision, not yours."

"But-" I then interrupted her.

"No buts, Mrs. Jun Daichi. It was my decision and that's final."

"Did you just propose to me?" she suddenly asked as I gave her a grin. I then felt her playfully punching me on the shoulder as I laughed, seeing her flustered reaction.

"Why? Do you want me to?" I said as I saw her smiling up at me. I grinned, knowing that it could happen someday. Kissing the top of her forehead, I suddenly repeated what I said back in the academy.

"Death is not the end of our meeting. Who knows? I might survive. If I do, let's start over with a sweet cup of coffee, alright?" I exclaimed as she gave me a victorious smile. It was really nice to come back alive.

"Now, about that coffee..."

"Of course, I'll get it for you, Aki."

Looking at my hand, I knitted my eyebrows. It was a white wristband with a Japanese symbol on it. Knowing who gave it to me, I suddenly smiled.

Damn it, Shin.

I looked at the girl beside me as I hugged her close.

Though, I didn't notice the mark Izumi had left after the accident.

The moment I had noticed it, it was already too late.
