-Sky's POV-
I woke to a sudden ear-splitting wail at 5 am. I made my way down the hall to see the cub trapped under a tall metal laundry basket. I knew Jerome was a heavy sleeper, so I pulled the basket off her, and calmed her down as best I could. She became enraptured in my messy hair and started to dig her claws through the knots in my hair.
It hurt, but she was literally brushing my hair for me, so I let her. I carried her to my room, grabbed my hair tie, and slipped it on my wrist. There was no point in stopping her because it would just make her upset. I grabbed breakfast for both of us, then took her outside for some exercise. It was still pretty dark- being winter and daylight savings time- but I could see well enough to let her roam a little.
She made a mad dash for the weapon rack, and I quickly teleported in front of her. She whined, but when I picked her up to take her inside, she started pulling my hair again. I found Jerome in the kitchen, and handed the cub to him. "Where was this bugger?" "When I woke up? Sobbing under a laundry bin."
"A laundry bin? Why was she under a bin when she should've been in bed?" "I dunno dude. It's just where she was." "Hey, have you heard from Ty lately?" "No. Why?" "Just curious. They've been gone a long time." "They have. I don't remember why though."
Just then, the front door burst open.

Guess who?

(Italics is Ty talking in Endertongue, bold & italics is Anthony)

-Ty's POV-
"You idiot. Do you seriously not remember?" "No." "Unbelievable." "What?!" "Anthony, you had one job. Keep the endermen here while I fix stuff up there." "Oh yeah. But the endermen SUCK. They don't listen." "Of course they don't. You can at least keep them out of my way. There's more to do than you think, and the endermen don't help." "Sorry."
"It's fine. Don't do it again please." "I won't." "Good. We only have a little left before we can head back to see everyone." "I still don't like that Sky dude." "I know you don't. Now get back to work. I have to finish to towers. They require a lot more attention."
I flew back up to the top of the island, and settled the new crystal onto the bedrock base. I instantly felt better as the crytal powered itself and took to the foreign home. I built up some cages for about half the crystals, and then opened the door to my room. The dragon shook out its wings and stepped out of the room. It flung itself to the air and flew to the top of my tower.
(Bold is the dragon)
"How do you feel?" "Better. Thank you." "It was no trouble. Please stay safe." It purred. "I shall try." "Very good. I will leave Anthony with you for now, and if you need anything, send an enderman for me. Alright?" It nodded.
I ducked down into the cave, and jumped into the portal. My eyes readjusted and I flew over to the house. It was still early morning, so it was kinda dark. I leaned on the locked door and it gave. I saw Jerome and Sky jump and the cub's head whipped to me. "Hi."
"English please." "Oh sorry. Hi." "Hi Ty. How're you doing?" "Better, actually." "And Anthony?" "I left him home with the dragon. He still doesn't like you."
"That's fine. Why did you leave in the first place again?" "I had to repair the island. The humans did a number on the towers and the crystals were gone. I had to replace and fix it all." "What'd Anthony do?" "I told him to keep the endermen out of my way. He failed miserably." "Ha. How could he succeed? Endermen don't listen to anyone."
"Yeah I know. I just wanted to see him struggle. Ya know, because of brotherly love. It's tough, but it's still there." Sky snickered. "Why you here now?" "Taking a break from the gloom. Wanted to see you guys." A chirp caught my attention.
"Sky?" I flinched, and looked down. A small yellow bird was at my feet, looking at Sky. I recognized him, but couldn't place the name. "What's wrong, buddy?" Sky kneeled next to the bird, blocking him from Jerome's sight.
"My head hurts..." "Do you want something for it?" "Yes please..." Sky scooped him up, holding his feet close to his body. He took the bird to the hallway and disappeared. Mitch came into the room a few minutes later, rubbing his eyes with the back of his hand.
"Good morning Ty, Jerome." He mumbled. He started to walk past me, then stopped. "Wait. Ty?" "Yeah?" "When'd you get here?" "About twenty minutes ago." "Oh," he yawned, "then good morning and welcome back."
"Thanks. Good morning to you, too." "Jerome why's the cub not in bed?" "Sky found her trapped and crying under the laundry basket this morning. I dunno." "What? How'd she get past me?" "Again, I dunno." "Ugh. Give her here."
The cub changed hands. "Let's get you back to bed, huh?" The cub yawned in response. Mitch went back the way he'd come. "I think I'm gonna crash on the couch. I'm still tired." Jerome nodded and went back to his room. "Good night, Ty." "Night."

-Sky's POV-
Choco's headache was easy enough to help, but he was still uneasy about staying in a separate room, so I put him in my bed and sat on the bed with him. I eventually started to drift back to sleep.
I woke up with Choco curled into my chest, his beak covered by his wing and his legs pressed into my stomach. He was still asleep. I lay there, too afraid to wake him, until he woke five minutes later. It was roughly noon when I woke, so I finally got up, taking Choco with me. I woke Mitch up and he got Jerome out of bed. I wasn't letting them sleep through the entire day.
Seto was a light sleeper and an early riser, so he was already up, and he'd dragged Brice out of bed with him. Brice was curled up on the couch in a blanket with a cup of coffee he'd made, while Seto was cooking breakfast for everyone- dressed and ready for the day. The table was already filled with food, and a box of Special K cereal sat out for Mitch because he didn't eat what Seto usually made. What he usually made was bacon and pancakes. Mitch apparently doesn't like either, because he'd refused them the first time Seto made it.
I noticed Ty semi awake on the other couch, with an entire plate of bacon to himself as well as a cup of hot chocolate. I grabbed the hot chocolate Seto had made for me, and grabbed the giant marshmallows. No way was I going without a fuck ton of sugar in my hot chocolate.
(I put like, half a bottle of CoffeeMate French Vanilla creamer in hot chocolate so Sky's not so bad)
Choco took his plate of pancakes and avoided the bacon at all costs. I took some of Mitch's cereal and a few pieces a bacon and sat down on the couch with Brice. "You okay there?" He jumped. "Uh, yeah. Tired. Not so fun when you have a roommate who gets up six hours earlier than you. He got up at 6 am. He dragged me out here at 7." I laughed. "So I guess you had a rough morning." "No kidding."
"I was up at 5 because the cub was screaming and that's when Ty came. I took Choco back to bed a few minutes later." "Lucky. You got to sleep." "Ha. I don't sleep well. At ALL." "Well, you got to wake up on your own. I was shoved out of bed. Literally. Seto ripped the blanket from me and shoved me to the floor." "Why?"
"I'm a heavy sleeper apparently. He actually called
me a tank because I don't move when I sleep, and it's hard to push me off the bed." "But he did." "He told me it took like, 7 tries and he only succeeded when he used a little magic." "Ha. That's awesome." "Errrggghh. I'm TIRED, Seto. Whyyyyyyyy." "Because the early bird gets the worm, Brice. You gotta adapt." Mitch dropped in, "Actually scientific studies say that it's not an adaptable thing. It's genetics. Also, night owls like us are actually far more likely to be more successful because we can stay awake longer during the day." I high-fived him. "Where'd you learn that?" "Books, dude. I read, ya know." "I never said you didn't read."
"Jerome, don't take the whole plate! I still need that plate and other people want bacon as well." "But then why does Ty get a whole plate?" He whined. "Because Ty is a dragon. Dragons need a lot more than you do. If you really want it, I'll make you your own plate. But leave that one alone for the rest of the guys." "Fine..." "You got denied, J." Mitch laughed.
"Shut up, Mitch." But he undoubtedly smiled at Mitch's banter. The rest of the morning was relatively quiet, so I took Choco out for a walk. His legs were getting stronger, and he was growing quite a bit. He had turned 5 roughly a month ago, and already he was twice the size he was when we met him.
He stood high enough that I could place my hand flat on his head without leaning down anymore- which is about 3 1/2 feet. His feathers had brightened once his down had gone, and he was a bright yellow bird like a chocobo should be. His eyes were unique, since they were a pale- almost grey- blue. Most chocobo a have dark eyes, brown that looks beady black from a distance. His beak and claws were getting sharp, which made me a little nervous. Move wrong and he could draw blood from someone.
With Jerome still unaccustomed to Choco, still drawing back into instinct naturally around him, Choco's beak and claws could easily make Jerome regret every decision he made that led him to go after the Choco. And that's exactly what happened that afternoon when I returned from my walk with Choco.
Jerome was outside, just enjoying the summer's breeze when we returned. His head snapped up and his pupils dilated. "Jerome, no." He ignored me. Jerome pounced, but surprisingly missed by a few inches, giving Choco time to react.
Choco spread his wings and flapped them once, managing to get a foot off the ground, clearing Jerome's head since he was crouched. Choco then landed on Jerome's shoulder, claws digging into Jerome, who yelped and jumped around. Choco let go and Jerome bolted. Now on the ground again, it was unnerving to see Choco. He just clawed on Jerome's shoulder and gouged him, yet Choco didn't look fazed.
He instead looked quite pleased with himself. I mean, I understood his pleasure, because Jerome was a nasty bully to him since we met him. He'd just stood up to a bully successfully. But I knew Choco well enough to know he also hated what he did. He hurt a friend. Badly.

-A/N-
Dudes this is slowly becoming a task to write. I somehow gave myself an idea to work off of, left you guys a cliffhanger, XD love you, and although the chapters are long, they will slowly but surely get a bit shorter.

They will not be really short like Shadow Maze or Lost Amongst Many, (if you read those) but it will be a bit shorter than what you normally see in this book. Alright? Good.

Love you guys!
