-Sky's POV-
I ran inside to find Sadie, cornering Seto, with Brice trying to move her. As terrified as Seto's eyes said, his face was calm, and his expression was blank. He held a small Elimonus spell in his one open hand, absently bouncing it like a rubber ball in his palm. In his other hand, was his staff. The orb on top was a reddish violet. It was angry that it was outweighed with light. Not enough dark.
I walked into the room, and the staff turned a bright yellow. I have no clue why, but only Brice seemed to notice. Seto couldn't bring his eyes to the staff, because it would accept the challenge Sadie now put in front of him. Vikk left to empty space. Jerome danced around the living room, clearly agitated with the cub in his arms.
I took control of my senses, and immediately grabbed Sadie's smallish hand. She spun, angry and terrified, throwing the spell she had in her hand at me. I missed it, and it hit my side. It exploded in pain, but I ignored it. I dragged her outside, kicking and screaming, and sat her down hard on the dirt. She fought with me a minute.
I held her hand tightly, and she was unable to free herself. "Where is Amelia?" I asked softly. No response- just screaming. I tried again. "Where. Is. Amelia. Sadie, you have no other option. Answer me!" "Home!" "Does she know you're here?" "Yes!" "Are you sure?"
"Yes!" She wailed. "She sent me!" I was taken by shock. "She sent you? Like, sent you on a mission? To kill Seto?!" "Yes." She huffed.
I let her go. I turned back to the guys. "I'll be back in a moment." I teleported with Sadie back to the Solace mansion, dragging her by her wrist to Amelia, who stood quietly in the courtyard. She fought and screamed at me, but I kept my grip. Amelia looked up at me.
"If you think that you're daughter can break through 10 guys our ages, you thought wrong. Each of us could've killed her. You sent her off, nearly a sacrifice, to kill Seto. That has NEVER worked for you. And you think it will work simply because it's your daughter?! That's so fucked up!" I let Sadie go. She ran into the mansion, the door shutting harshly behind her. I felt no sympathy.
"Amelia. She could have died. Do you want one of your children to die because of your actions?!" "Yes." "What?!" "I'd be so much happier with Brice gone. He's a fuck up. A mistake. He screwed himself over for one, single boy who was about to die naturally. That would've saved me trouble, but no. He had to save that beast, and turned his whole life against itself. Because of that... That beast of a child, Brice is not my son."
"Amelia. I meant Sadie. I know you hate Brice for who he is naturally, but I was talking about your daughter. You sacrificed her! You set her up at the mercy of two sorcerers, an immortal, a fucking bacca, and an angry swordsman. How do you expect her to not die?!" "I honestly don't care what happens to Sadie. She's a mistake too." "What?" "Sadie came after Chase's death. Guess who?" I shook my head. I wasn't going to guess.
"My servant. The stablehand. She isn't my daughter, Sky. She isn't a true Solace." "She's a Mage." "Exactly." Amelia hissed. "She isn't a sorcerer. So you want her to sacrifice herself to kill your son- the actual Solace heir, and his closest friend?! What the fuck Amelia?! Are you deranged? Do you need a mental institution?"
"You know, I just might. If you think I'm a fucked up being, how about you? Let's talk about you for a moment." "No." I stated punctually. "No? How about yes. You lost a mother at four, not naturally, and escaped unscathed and alive. Your father fucked you over, and tried to take you to the dark side. You disregarded him, got punished, and ignored. That is no worse than Brice. And he's a fuck up." "No! I am immortal."
"Which is why you are more of a fuck up than Brice. Your father is ashamed of you, and your mother was wanted by her own father for beastiality. Beastiality. The punishment for that? Death. And your mother escaped to the Nether." "Stop." "How about the boys?" "No." "They were tortured every day, while you lived the high life, just above their heads." "STOP!" "Tyler? He only came to you because he was hurt. If he hadn't come, you'd still be with your dad, still living the high life just above the heads of children who still couldn't remember the sun." "WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU?! STOP IT NOW! I CAN'T DO THIS!"
"Of course you can't. It's the seething words you've always needed to hear. You are worthless. A fuck up for eternity. Without purpose. YOU ARE NOTHING TO ANYONE." "NO!!! I will NOT take this. Especially from you, Amelia. You are worth less than the dirt I walk on." She shrunk away from my growing anger. I had no care.
"Amelia, you can push my physical equilibrium all day long, but you will never shift my emotions. I have no reason to even stand in front of you except to return your poor child to her home. If you don't want her, she has every option to run to me. You cannot and do not have any rights to hurt or abuse her. If I get word that you are, she comes to me immediately." Her eyes were wide.
"Fine." I swept my foot in a full circle, spinning my body, and I walked out, still shaken by her words. Sprite galloped into me, and slid to a stop in the dust. Before he stopped entirely, I grabbed his mane, swung up, and started to trek home. It took half an hour.
Rob and Preston had taken their horses to the stable, and the four horses were enjoying the paddock. But before I could get off Sprite, my body decided to go limp. Mitch came up to Sprite, and Sprite sat down like a dog. I slid off, and laid tiredly on the grass. Sprite cantered to the paddock to stay with the other horses.
My side ached, and I knew what Sadie had thrown at me. It was a pain spell, a burning pain that would only stop with rest. Most sorcerers don't know this, because those who receive it die before they can rest. Those who receive it are normally dark sorcerers, and it's normally doled out by the Solace clan. Seto came out, and managed to help me up. I walked inside and collapsed in bed.

Seto's POV
I knew something was wrong the second Sky didn't get up. He just sort of laid there, watching the cloudless sky haphazardly. Then I noticed the growing bloodstain on the side of his shirt. Mitch glanced at me from Sky's side, and waved me out. I helped him stand, and he slowly staggered to the back room- his room.
Once he was down and out, I helped his horse relax a little, and let it through the gate. The five horses frolicked around with each other for a while, then settled and retired to the stable for nighttime. Rob and Preston headed home via teleport station, while Vikk and Lachlan stayed due to a long trip home. Sky was still down, and Ty and Anthony would be awake soon. I went to bed because the day's events had exhausted me.
I woke up, and instantly remembered something. It's Preston's birthday. He turns 14 today. It is March 10th, and it's Preston's actual birthday. I felt kinda bad though. Brice and I had tried to find every family member he had, and came up empty. Except for one. But she was so far away, we'd never find her and bring her back.
I found Preston and Rob packing up their horses to take them home, and stopped Rob just after Preston left. "Rob, we found his mom, but she's hundreds of miles away. You'll have to give Brice and I a few hours to get her. But she will be here for his birthday. Trust me." "I trust you Seto. It's just... He's already downed that she'll never be there. It'll cheer him up to know she is still around."
He left. I woke Brice, and we started our teleporting trek to find Preston's mother. It took maybe... 3 hours? But we found her, and she wasn't in the most ideal position. We found a zoo. Hundreds of humans, and there were also fantasies galore, stuck in small cages throughout the entirety of the concrete monstrosity.
Accounted for, there was a full pack's worth of baccas, a set of slimes, a wolf with naturally no eyes, a Pack wolf- the big horse sized wolves that Jason brought with him, and Preston's mom- a lava creeper. The sight brought tears to my eyes. Brice was tearing up with me. The name of the place was on a big grapevine archway. 'The bizarre creatures of our world'
It made me sick. These creatures have no desire to interfere, but they also have no desire to be confined to a cage their entire lives. I stretched the last of my energy to make myself and Brice invisible. Our way home was Brice. I teleported us here, and Brice conserved his energy to go home. I felt bad to come for only one.
I naturally wanted to save every creature here, but most would be recaptured in no time. I did make Brice promise to help me try anyway. We were invisible, because if we weren't, we'd be identified very quickly. At least, Brice would. Every city goer knew the Solace outcast. Most knew the Solace clan, and praised them for razing the dark sorcerers. It was disgusting.
We dropped next to Preston's mom, and I picked the door lock in seconds. She looked around, bewildered, and came out, running directly into Brice. He took her hand, her still not knowing we were here, grabbed me, and teleported. My spell on us broke, and we became visible to her. She saw Brice, and cocked her head in confusion.
She saw me, and she smiled. She spoke in her own language, but I could somehow understand. "Um... We saved you, but you shouldn't thank us." "Why not?" Her voice was light, and her words flowed together- like Preston. "Do you know what today is?" "I remember it being important, but sadly no." "It's your son's birthday today." "Hm. No. It isn't." "In our time, it is. He's turning 14 in our time." "Are you sure about that?" "Yes." "And you know my child how?" "Long story."
"Seto, we need to get home before it's too late." "What is your name?" "Carol." "Carol, do you want to see Preston?" "Yes. I have missed my baby for a year and a half." That didn't sound right... But oh well, creeper time is different.
Brice teleported us home, and while Sky was just now getting breakfast- at 3 pm mind you- most of the guys had just finished lunch. I was tired, but used the teleport pad to gain quick access to Rob and Preston. Rob saw me first, and called Preston from their room to the staircase. I watched as Preston came out of the room, closing the door behind him. "What, Rob?" "Come here."
Preston reached him, and was immediately blindfolded with his own cloak. Rob had pulled it over his face, careful not to trip him. Rob picked him up bridal style, and slid down the banister. Leaping off, Rob landed in front of me at the teleport pad. Rob and I stepped on the pad at the same time, and teleported.
