-Alice-

I'm here at New York's famous tourist attraction, a park that has a deep lake at the center. They created a dock near the lake with a few boats at the corner. A lot of people from different countries are here just to see this park. Well, just like I said, It is one of the famous tourist attraction at New York.

I keep looking at the kids who have a happy moment, bonding with their parents. This scene just makes me want to cry. Tears slowly started to appear in my eyes, and not a few second it started to fall down like water falls. I hugged my knees and sobbed silently. I feel jealous because their parents are giving them their time with their children. But me.

My name is Alice Henderson. The daughter of Emeralda and Richmond Henderson, the most famous inventors here in New York, they worked for the government who studies the history 3000 years ago. Where vikings lived among with dragons in harmony. I don't know why they're so determined to know their history, but I don't care about it.

You might be wondering why I'm here? Well, to answer that, I ran away from my parents. But there's no problem in there. They're too busy to notice my disappearance. And this is what I'm talking about, why I'm jealous at the other kids because they're having so much fun with their parents. My parents? Not so much. They're always busy to have time for me.

"Hey! Why are you crying?" A deep voice asked me.

I turned around to see a poor man around his mid 40, wearing a scattered clothes and there were dirts on his face and was holding a small cup and a bottle of beer I sniffed and gave the man a confused look.

"Uh, I-It's nothing . . ." I manage to choked out some words. He looked at me, not convinced. I then started sobbing, more quietly, if that's possible.

"Then I'll just pretend that there's no problem, even if there is." The man said then he grabbed a bottle that's full of alchohol and drinked it. I gave him a look then started sobbing again.

"I don't think I can live anymore!" I cried. Luckily, no one turned their attention to me. I then saw the man looking at me straight in the eye.

"'Life is short'. That's what a lot of people always says. Now, why would you say something like that?" The man asked, wisely. I stared at him for a bit before averting my look back at the lake.

"Well, I'm not like them. I'm different." I said with a frown, my voice barely a whisper but I know he can still hear what I said.

"Well, being different is good." The man replied again with a slightly smile. He then drink another cup of his beer. I sniffed then scoff.

"You don't even know what kind of different I am." I shot back, hugging my knees tighter.

"Then at least tell me what's your name?" The man asked, hesitantly. I gave him a quick glance before covering my face with my hands again.

"Alice. I'm Alice." I replied while wipping my stained cheeks. He nodded his head and leaned his body against a pole to rest.

"Well then, it's nice meeting you Alice." That's the last thing he said before he fell asleep. I frowned at him before sighing.

I roamed my eyes around this park before my eyes turned to a little boy, maybe at the age of 5 or 6, trying to jump down the small boat. I started looking for someone, hoping it's the boy's parents watching him, but none. Everyone is busy eating or laughing or preparing the food to even notice the boy. My eyes averted back at the boy, but when I looked at where he is, he's already gone.

SPLASH!

I was on my feet when I heard a splash sound from the water. Just then I saw the boy trying to swim his way back to the docks but being the small kid he is, he can't. I was panicking and started roaming my eyes again to see if someone notice the boy jumped down the lake, but unfortunately, none. I gave the man I was talking earlier a quick glance, seeing him falling asleep. I frowned.

"Argh! Why does it have to be me?!" I shouted to myself before running and jumping fown the lake to save the boy.

As I swim to reach the boy, I heard a lot of adults panicking for the kid's life, specially the boy's parents. When I reach the boy, he immediately wrapped his arms around me in fear of drowning again. I wiped his wet face and ruffled his wet hair in a soothing motion.

"D-don't worry. Your safe. Just hold on to me." I said in a sweet tone, not attempting to scare him more. He nodded his head and wrapped his arms around my neck, a little bit tighter.

I was about to swim at the docks when I saw the boy's dad, rowing a boat towards us, guilt and worry are written across his face. I swam near the boy's father then gave the little to him as the father put his son on the boat.

"Come. Come on, hurry!" The boy's father panicked along with the boy who's starting to cry.

The boy's father grabbed my wrists when I suddenly looked up at the sky, seeing the sudden appearance of the solar eclipes. I furrowed my eyebrows then my eyes immediately turn to my watch, seeing that the man accidentally pressed the botton which allows me to time travel. My eyes widened when I saw how my watch reversed its hours and minutes, so fast like a flash.

Then the next thing I know, I was suddenly pulled deeper into the lake. The only thing I last saw was the boy crying, roaming his eyes around the lake and the panicked shouts and screams of the adults from the docks. Then darkness immediately wrapped itself around me.

-At The Henderson Household-

"Richmond! Have you found Alice?" Alice's mother, Emeralda Henderson asked in  a pinic tone as she walked towards her husband.

Richmond, Alice's father, shooked his head with a worried expression on his face as he turned off gis phone to face his wife.

"Where could she be?" Emeralda asked herself as she walkef back and fort in front of her husband.

"I've called her phone but she's not answering." Richmond said. Emeralda sigh in defeat then sat at the couch.

"I'll call her again." Richmond said then went into the corner to call his daughter's phone again.

He's been waiting for three ring calls, but Alice is still not picking up her phone. Richmond sighed in defeat then turned off his phone to face his wife.

"She's not picking up." Richmond stated in a serious tone.

Suddenly, someone knocked on the door. It slightly open to reveal their female secretary holding a tablet. She put down the phone she was holding then turned to looked at her boss with a solemn look.

"Ma'am. A few civillians found Alice, almost drowning on the lake near New York's tourist park." The secretary said with a half sad, half monotone voice. Emeralda and Richmond immediately stood up on their feet and ran out on the door with a worried expression.

"Hailey, cancel all our meetings and call an ambulance." Richmond said before sprinting off inside their car and start the engine, going on a speed of 160km.

"What is she doing in there?" Emeralda asked in frustration as she ruffled her hair.

"I don't know. But I hope she made it out the water in time." Richmond replied as he grab hold onto his wife's hand.
