There were several calm sailing days that week, but that week came and went. The week after, the wind was howling. As I rode my bike past the sea that morning, I stopped and looked out over the dark water and cloudy skies. I wondered what Ally and Jackson would have us do, because there was no way Bradley and Lena, the two least experienced sailors of our group, would be able to sail in this breeze.

I rode my bike to camp and parked it in the bike rack outside of the tennis courts. Then I walked out onto the courts for tennis. Margaret had beat me to it, as usual.

"Hey!" I said.

"Hey," Margaret responded. "It's awfully windy again. My parents checked the weather forecast, and apparently it's supposed to be like this all week!"

I sighed. "We'll have to go heavy-air sailing one of these days then. Ally and

Jackson can't keep us on shore for that long."

"But what do you think we'll do when we're not sailing?" Margaret questioned.

"Maybe some No Way In No Way Out, I hope we tie Ally up this time. Or maybe we'll review our capsizing in the Horseshoe. Or maybe sailing relay races." I grinned.

"We'll have to see when we get there." Margaret said.

The tennis instructor walked out of the Pro Shop, and we reported to our places for our warm-up. We found it hard to play that day because of the wind.

After tennis, Margaret and I walked over to the Center field. Bradley and Russell were already waiting for us under the tree. I set my beach towel down and began to eat my lunch.

"Why is it always so windy?" Bradley complained.

"You haven't seen anything yet. I've been sailing double handed in an RS-Feva in about twenty two nauts of breeze. And that doesn't include the wind gusts." I said, taking a bite of my sandwich.

"Twenty two? Wow!" Russell exclaimed. "When was this?"

"Last year." I responded. "The very last day of camp before the Camp Olympics."

The four of us sat in silence for a moment as the wind whistled through the branches of the tree above. We ate our lunch, then immediately threw our trash away to keep it from blowing around the Center Field.

Finally, one o'clock came and we all crossed over the street to the Camp Building to our lockers. I grabbed my life jacket, even though I had a feeling we wouldn't be sailing. To my surprise, I was wrong. In a way.

"Okay a Adventure Sailors, we're going paddleboarding today!" Jackson announced as we all sat in a circle under the tree in the Center Field.

"Who hoo!" Margaret cheered.

"SUPing!" Alex smiled. We all laughed. SUPing stood for Stand Up Paddleboarding. It was just a funny sounding acronym.

"Two or three to a board," Ally told us. "We don't want anyone drifting away in this wind!"

Margaret and I were doubling up. Lena and Eliza and Emma were tripling. Alex, Russell, and Bradley were too. It took some convincing to even get Bradley on the board, though. He put up quite a fight.

Eventually, Ally and Jackson jumped in their motorboats, and we pushed off from the dock, dipping the blades of our paddles into the churning water. This was sure to be an adventure!
