-Nadwe POV-
I walked up the steps, the handles of the plastic bag tangled around my fingers. The sloshing of the water bottles seemed like it could be heard for miles. Opening the door, me and Tbh walked in. It was suddenly dead silent.

Odd..

I yelled into the room next to the stairs,

"Is anyone here?"

I glared at Tbh as he started snickering over my voice, which cracked in the middle of my sentence. I hissed,

"Shut up, Crabby."

"I know, I'm sorry."

I looked around once again, seeing Dino jogging into the kitchen. Confused, I continued to stare at him. He had grabbed a knife from its holder, looking at the blade. Tbh asked,

"What's that for? We got these lemons and limes for a reason y'know."

I warned,

"Yeah, and when we tried that last time it nearly killed Oompa."

Dino whimpered out,

"It's just... too quiet. Weirdly quiet."

Tbh shrugged, continuing towards the kitchen to put his bag of citrus on the table. Dino still stood there, staring into the darkened hallway. I will admit, it was a bit too quiet. There's usually lights from one of our rooms illuminating the corridor too, which there was none.

Confident, maybe a bit too confident, I slowly walked into it. The floorboards creaked underneath my feet, which made my heart start racing. The basement door was cracked open, which wasn't necessarily abnormal. However, I heard a scream which I hadn't heard in what seemed to be months. I'd only ever heard it through my phone, and it had always been calm. I then heard Meme's scream, which made my chest feel like it was pinching itself. Right after, I heard a deep and demonic voice—

"Where in the hell did you come from, yhenj?!"

—which made my stomach feel like it was being sucked into a black hole. I stared into Dino, who started staring down at the staircase at the first scream. Tbh stood there, his gaze shooting darts. Out of instinct, he ran and flew down the stairs, Dino stammering out as he hesitantly followed with his knife,

"W-wait!"

I sighed, both nervous and annoyed. I stood there, debating whether I should follow as well. I inhaled and shrunk into a bat, flying down the stairs just as fast as Tbh did.

-Gulvic POV-

"Kill you? Who, me? Of course not. I'd prefer torture instead."

I let out a menacing chuckle, cornering Ally and Tbvg into the small side room. The room, which was more like a closet, had two large metal boxes with circular doors. I wasn't sure what they were, but I could definitely shove their bodies in there once I was done with them. I guess I have to do all the dirty work myself, since Ryzo is a little wuss who can't handle killing a few humans once in a while. I don't know what went wrong, but it sure isn't my problem to deal with.

I started advancing on the two young adults, wearing a creepy smile as usual. I let my teeth and jaw be loose, so red light from below my throat could seep into the room. It would add to the idea that I, in fact, was not anything human. Tbvg, who was tired already, looked like he was ready to pass out from fear. Ally looked like she was ready to punch me in the face, on the other hand. I slowly pulled a tentacle across both of their faces, and they both froze. An inky streak of black was left on their cheeks. Ally managed to stutter out,

"W-what are you?"

"That's not something you need to know, now is it?"

She stayed quiet, probably trying to strategize how to get out of certain death. I couldn't help but let out another chuckle as I lifted my tentacles up behind me. Their eyes grew wide as the tips aimed towards their heads. Ally let out another blood-curdling scream that probably deafened Tbvg. I winced as it pierced through my eardrums. It sounded like I already stabbed her.

That's going to become a reality real quick.

I pulled my tentacles back, and it felt like I loaded a gun and was ready to pull the trigger. I was about to let my spears shoot into their skulls when something shot itself onto them instead. I froze for a second, startled. A familiar voice that I remember killing like it was yesterday followed.

"Wha-"

He didn't even need to finish a word for me to know who he was. I felt myself instinctively growl out of frustration as I looked behind me. Meme's ghost had been skewered through like he was a piece of meat on a kabob. After he figured out where he was, he shrieked. I'm surprised I didn't go deaf. He was face-to-face with me, after all. I snapped,

"Where in the hell did you come from, yhenj?!"

I flailed my tentacles around, trying to throw him off.

As I did, I noticed I subconsciously moved away from the door, giving Ally and Tbvg the chance to escape. I thought,

"Curse you, Socks."

Socks mentally pointed out,

"Hey, you're the one who got distracted. You could've paid attention to me better."

He then flashed a smirk at me, making me even angrier. Ignoring him, I threw Meme off of my tentacle. He phased through the wall of the room that Ally and Tbvg were supposed to be in. I looked around for them, only to be slammed against the wall opposite of Memegod. My face would have been smashed into the wall, but thankfully my tentacle was still there from throwing Meme around. My hands dashed to the sides and tried to push off the wall, however, I was being held there by the neck.

Turning my head, I saw brown hair and dull olive green plastic, which was stained with a streak of black on its side. A red silt stared at me, which shrunk as I was shoved further into my own tentacle. My tentacle was ringing with a pressurized pain, as I was holding back from letting black liquid squirt out of the tip like a punctured water balloon.

Getting even more annoyed by the fact that Ryzo was stupid enough to try something like this, I wrapped three tentacles around his torso and shoved him away with ease. I used my hands to move away from the wall, alleviating the pain in my head and top left tentacle. I turned to Ryzo, scowling.

He grabbed the tentacle closest to his dominant hand, my bottom right, and dug his claws into it. A fork of pain shot into my back from my shoulder blade. I screeched, clenching my fists to the point it hurt. Out of instinct, I threw Ryzo back a few feet, where he nearly knocked Oof and Joocie over. While rubbing my tentacle where it was attacked, I backed away and saw Dino, Tbh, and Nadwe run down into the chaos. My eyes narrowed on them, which Ryzo saw, apparently. He ran at me, and yelled,

"I WILL KILL YOU IF YOU PUT A SINGLE FINGER ON THEM."

His eyes were red circles.

Well this is new, isn't it.

Sliding towards the left, Ryzo ran past me. I thought he was an idiot, but then my chin planted into the concrete ground. My arms and legs were pinned down with his tentacles, which were like briers. He held his foot against my back, just below my tentacles. Coincidentally, this was behind my chest-mouth, so he was shoving my flesh into my own teeth. Last but not least, Ryzo had grabbed my tentacles and dug his claws into them. It would make them sore as hell if I ripped them out of his grip. I racked through my brain to figure out any way to get out of the situation, coming up with none.

I moved my head to the left and sighed,

"Fine."

-Ryzo POV-

I heard Gulvic say something, but couldn't make out what. I was nearly over the edge with this man. I irritably asked,

"What?"

He mumbled,

"Let go of my tentacles already."

"Give Socks control."

He groaned and rolled his eyes, which became white with a brown iris. His tentacles tugged on my hand, wanting to suck themselves back up into his body. I let go, but I should've realized I was being naive. I just wanted to get it over with. I hadn't thought it through. There was barely enough time for Socks' voice to escape his throat and yell—

"DON'T LET GO!"

—before I was shoved off his back by four black tentacles once again. Gulvic quickly got back to Socks' feet and muttered as his eyes became his own,

"You idiot. I can't believe you fell for that."

My face scrunched behind the mask as we circled around counterclockwise, like each of us were cats planning out when to tackle each other. After we paused, we had pretty much switched spots, and Oscar, or as Laff would nickname Oof, timidly asked,

"Socks? A-are you alright?"

Gulvic's left eye became a white slit. It shows that Socks had just gained little to no control, compared to a white oval. Socks managed to get out a sentence, shouting through distorted vocals,

"NO, GET OUT OF HERE!"

He swallowed a gulp of anxious air before quietly sobbing out,

"Please-"

The look on Socks' face, while it lasted, tugged at my heart. It was the fact that it was a hybrid doing this that stuck with me. We were supposed to be the ones that are dead, why does he need to be on top? What does he need to prove? What's the point in trying to kill them all when the killers are so outnumbered? I only possessed Laff so I could help out a hybrid in need, not knowing their mission. I thought I might get time to redeem myself from being a jerk in the past, but look at me now. Defending the species that killed my own. Ironic.

I barked,

"RUN, NOW."

Gulvic growled,

"There's no escape."

Even though they all heard him, Nadwe, Tbh and Blaza started running up the stairs anyway. Oof and Joocie seemed stuck to me like glue. Gulvic's voice echoed through my mind,

Three.. two.. one.

At one, I yanked the three that were halfway up the stairs back down with a tentacle. Gulvic's tentacle punched through the wall of the staircase, all the way to the other side.

I looked at Blaza, Tbh, and Nadwe. They were dazed, but from what I saw all three were unscathed. They all took off running to the left of the staircase, and Dino ran up the stairs, seeming he was too scared to move before. Where the other three went led to another hallway, which I wasn't sure where that led to. Despite the urge to run away with them, Joocie and Oof were my priority now. Blaza, Tbh and Nadwe were a safe enough distance away, so I just had to buy us enough time for Socks to take control again.

In the meantime, Gulvic stared at me. His piercingly bright, red pupils and cold stare felt like they sent a bullet directly through my forehead. I stared back, trying to match his eyes that implicitly said, "make one move, and they're all dead". He then smirked,

"I might not know the main level, but I know this basement like the back of my hand."

I wasn't too sure what he meant until he turned around and sprinted down the hall. I felt the word "bint" escape my lips. I turned to Joocie and Oof who jumped at my sudden movement, and whisper-shouted,

"Both of you, go upstairs now. You'll be fine as long as both of you stay up there."

They both nodded, and dashed up the stairs. I heard their footsteps pause as they passed the stab in the walls, probably both confused yet amazed by the strength that was needed to do something like that. He punched through nearly two brick walls. Not something you see everyday.

Looking back at the direction Gulvic went and taking a moment to listen, I heard a pair of footsteps on my right. My gaze shot to them, and it wasn't who I expected. It was Ally and TBVG, staring wide-eyed into my red eyes. I knew what they were thinking, and demanded,

"Both of you, get upstairs. I'm not the.. evil Socks, if you want to call it that. I'm Ryzo, the one in Laff."

Their expressions became a bit more relaxed, but still looking at me with uncertainty in their eyes. The only thing they could see was the light from my eyes, and their minds were in flight or fight mode at this point. So, I slowly backed towards the wall, allowing them to pass me with a good distance between us. They ran past and dashed up the stairs, again slowing down about half way through to admire Gulvic's stabs. I heard the basement door slam shut behind them.

That loud noise isn't good. Gulvic will know there's people up there at this point.

-Gulvic POV-

Looking around the pole I needed to hide behind, I saw Ryzo's attention had shifted to Oscar and James. I needed to make sure I was alone and not being stalked by Ryzo. As I silently walked into the doorway behind me, I winced as a strike of pain shot through my brain. It was Socks. Of course. I mentally snapped at him,

"What."

"What do you think?"

I entered a huge storage space, which was mostly empty. Along the perimeters, it had a bunch of heavy, metal shelves that were held up by 'screws' and 'bolts'. I found 'nails' there the other day, but I thought those were the hard things on the end of Socks' fingers. Humans are weird creatures.

"I don't know, you tell me."

"Maybe that you're going to kill three people at the same time?"

I glanced around the empty space for a second, just in case they were hiding in here. I didn't see any movement nor a person to begin with, so I took a sharp turn to the left, into another hallway. I provoked,

"I could kill four, if you want."

Astroboy didn't like that.

"YOU SHOULDN'T BE KILLING ANYONE IN THE FIRST PLACE!"

"Too bad."

"What happened to 'thinking about it'?"

I rolled my eyes as I turned a left corner in the hallway.

"Well, I thought about it. I decided against it."

I then stopped. Socks began to scream at me again, saying,

"Well, maybe you should just-"

I wrapped a tentacle around his face and head mentally, shutting him up. I listened, and I heard distinctive breathing through the cracked door. I remember it from only a few days back, when the vampire kid shoved some lemon juice down my throat.

I had to kill them. Alessandra, James, Oscar and Thomas can wait a while. The difference is that the new four have no clue what is going on. Tbh and Nadwe, however, have their own notes and everything about me specifically. They can't tell them what's going on, otherwise I'm done.

We can't have that.

I heard his breathing was quick, yet deprived of oxygen with his shallow breaths. The three had ran all the way here. They were tired, if not sitting on the ground already. Slowly, I wrapped my fingers around the doorframe and layed a tentacle on the door itself. The door creaked after I moved it slightly. They went silent.

Perfect.

-Tbh POV-

"We should be safe now."

We had sprinted through almost half of the basement, and now we had to pray Gulvic was occupied with Ryzo. I know that's not the way to think, but all I wanted to do was live. I looked at Blaza and Nadwe. Blaza had come out of nowhere. I didn't even see him down here in the first place. He held a frying pan, for a reason that I didn't know. We had tried it the other day, and Gulvic blocked his head with a tentacle, then wrapped it around and ripped the pan out of his grip. Nadwe was on the side of Blaza, all the way on the left. He was breathing quickly, and he was making a bunch of noise doing so. I didn't want to tell him 'just stop', since it was only a stress response. If we had any chance of successfully hiding in here, he was going to have to. I whispered,

"Nadwe, could you try quieting down just a little?"

"I'm sorry, I'm sorry-"

I felt bad telling him to do something that he probably couldn't do, but he did manage to quiet himself a little bit after a few more seconds. We sat in silence, the only noises being the heater and the boiler in the corner.

Then, I heard footsteps coming down the hall. I couldn't tell who's footsteps they were but they seemed 'softer' than ours, and didn't have the telltale "clomp" of shoes. No one here was barefoot. I slowly inched my vision to the right towards the door, where my eyes widened and my heartrate was multiplied by ten. Nadwe held his breath. I felt Blaza freeze. The door creaked as black fingers and a tentacle nudged it open. I had a staring contest with a red dot and two grins as they all stared back at me.

It was dead silent.

Before I could even open my mouth, I physically couldn't. A muffled scream ripped from my throat as I was thrown across the room, nearly smashing into the opposite wall. Rubbing my head as I looked up, I saw that Gulvic had walked in. A tentacle was still wrapped around my face, only covering my mouth. Nadwe shrieked, clearly terrified for his life, and Blaza stayed silent as he immediately swung the pan at Gulvic's face. Just before hitting, a tentacle stabbed through the pan itself, sending a couple small, metal shards flying in all different directions. They reflected the light from Gulvic's eyes and mouths, the red tint taunting me with a twisted death.

Blaza stood there, clearly panicking and trying to figure out what to do next. Nadwe looked around desperately, probably trying to see if the ghosts were around. I looked at Gulvic again, trying to take deep breaths in and out so I didn't inhale any fluid that could infect me. He stared back at me with slits for eyes, grimacing. Again, I was thrown across the room like a delayed ping-pong ball bouncing back off the racquet, landing back against the wall between Blaza and Nadwe. Blaza knelt down next to me and checked if I was alright, and if anything I was only bruised from being thrown around. I grabbed my left shoulder and winced once I touched it. Once I pulled it back into my view, I saw a small streak of blood across my middle and ring fingers. I guess my skin rubbed hard enough against the concrete wall to get a bit scraped. I looked back up, and Gulvic laughed out loud,

"You knew you couldn't hide, so why did you even bother trying?"

I breathed in to answer, though my throat and jaw were a bit sore from nearly being snapped, but for the third time I felt a tentacle wrap around me. His soft footsteps from the socks were silent, but very much deadly as he walked towards the center of the room. With almost no effort, he pulled me to my feet and dragged me over— almost. A hand grabbed mine, attempting to tug me back from an almost certain death. It was Blaza. He was silent, but trying his hardest to pull me out from death's grip. Seeing this, Gulvic just scoffed. He then deadpanned, clearly amused,

"Sadly, it might just be a bit too late for Tbh, Blaza."

My spine went numb from fear once my name was said by him in such a manner. It was like the Hunger Games when they called your number to be a competitor. I felt my breathing quicken as the reality started to set into my head: this is my death. I didn't care that there was a resurrection machine. I was still about to experience the worst pain of my life if he didn't end me right away.

Blaza, uselessly still trying to rip me out of the grip of the tentacles, suddenly stopped after a pinkish light replaced the red light that brightened the room. Confused, I timidly looked back at Gulvic. One of his eyes was a white X. From the outside, it looked like he was in a trance. Nadwe breathed out as he looked at the doorway,

"Meme.."

-Joocie POV-
Sitting there, our hearts still racing, I listened as the phone rang for the fourth time. It picked up, and he basically puked all of the information out at once.

"Please, I beg you- we need help. You think I'm crazy but two middle-aged men have tentacles and one of them is trying to kill u-"

He paused, I assume because the police had enough of him calling.

"No, I haven't taken any hard drug,"

Again, he paused for a brief moment. I heard the buzzing of the operator on the other line.

"NO, NO, NO! PLEASE-"

He then went silent. Ally asked,

"Still nothing?"

Dino shook his head, terrified that there was nothing we could do at this point.

Suddenly, we all jumped once we heard a knock at the door. It was a floating ring with an indigo crystal inside of it.

"WAIT, THEY DID IT?!"
