Being wrapped up in Tyr's arms felt better than any blanket that had ever covered you from the nightly cold.

Despite his large size and the muscles he had, it was surpassingly comfortable to rest your head on his chest and listen to the beating of his heart while he breathed in and out in a calm manner.

It was a moment of safety, comfort like you remember from your childhood.

And yet your mind failed to find rest.

With a strange feeling of restlessness tying your chest you glanced up to find Tyr wide awake. Silent, he looked up at the ceiling. There was no thought visible in his eyes, yet it seemed like everything he had ever thought of raged on his mind.

"What do you worry about?", you asked and let out a deep breath.

A hum made his chest vibrate. His grip on your tightened, pushing you closer to his chest as if he were afraid that you could slip away.

"I don't worry.", he replied, but did not look down to meet your gaze.

Your hand rose to caress his cheek, wandered down and scratched the side of his beard that he often scratched himself when it started to itch.

The gesture made him smile. His head tilted to the side to finally lock eyes with you in a lovingly annoyed manner.

"Have I given away so much of me that you already know how to pull the words from my mouth?", he asked, took your hand and placed a kiss on the back of it.

With a smile you pulled yourself up and placed a kiss to his lips. It was a tender one, a little shy and still unable to tell if this was something you were allowed to do.

Gladly, he returned the kiss with equal tenderness. The hair of his beard tickled your nose.

You had to chuckle.

"If you worry, I worry.", you said and pressed your forehead against his.

Now you were so close to him that you were able to see to the other side of his body. In his hand he held the scroll that you had taken from Odin's study.

At the sight, a cold shiver crawled down your spine. You frowned in both confusion and displeasure.

Tyr noticed your change of mood. His grip on the scroll tightened. At the same time he tried to hide it from your gaze.

"I know you disapprove of anything the Allfather has touched.", he raised the wrapped up paper above his head to let you have a look at it from all sides. "But even though he is slowly drifting into insanity, there is a bright side to it."

A mocking snort escape you.

"I don't see how he is of any good use.", you replied with a growl stuck in your throat.

"His fear of fate drives him to seek the impossible.", Tyr opened the scroll so that you could have a look at what was written inside. "He has restored long forgotten knowledge. He has preserved the ways of past times. Thanks to him we might be able to leave these realms and travel beyond."

With your eyebrows drawn together, you took the scroll from your hands to inspect the runes that were sealed on old papyrus.

You knew these symbols or rather what they were meant to be. It was written in an ancient form of the giant language. Your mother had taught you how to read it.

But Tyr words made you frown. Unsure, you sat up to look down on him.

"Why do you need a way to travel past our realms?", you asked. "You skin is proof that you once managed to travel there."

With a smile of regret, Tyr turned his arm into all directions as if he needed to check if the ink hadn't melted into his body.

"You're right, my Helchild.", he said after a while and closed his eyes. "I've been to these realms before. Some time ago, before I felt the need to oppose fate."

"My people have shown you how to travel between the realms."

"They taught me how. I merely perfected it."

"So much that you traveled further than we ever have?", now it was curiosity that captured your heart, so that you looked at the scroll again to find out what was written.

With a smirk, he let his hands rest behind his head and shrugged.

"I would like to brag, but it was more of an accident.", he admitted, but turned serious again all of a sudden. "That is why we need to reconstruct the old way of travelling between realms. Surely your ancestors must have known how to be more precise."

A little defeated, you let out a deep breath, lowered the scroll into your lap and looked at him.

"What if it was just a coincidence?", you asked. "Perhaps you're truly the only one who ever happened to... get lost."

"You know...", Tyr sat up to slide closer to you and meet your eyes. "There is quite an amusing thing about coincidences."

At the sight of his face, so close to yours, you couldn't help but smile.

"That would be?", you asked in a playfully cocky manner and leaned forward to tease him.

Tyr took his time to answer. Instead, he seemed to find it more appealing to keep eye contact with you. A satisfied look was on his face while the hint of a smirk tugged at the corner of his lips.

Then, as he felt like he was satisfied this intimate moment, he leaned back to stretch out his chest and pull back his shoulders.

"Coincidences...", he said with the voice of a teacher. "They happen... unexpected. There is no limit to their occurrence. Sometimes they happen only once. But most times they have a high likelihood of happening multiple times. Just not to the same people."

"Hm...", you thought for a moment. "Forgive me to say this, oh wise lord Tyr, but I think what you are referring to is luck. You simply hope to be lucky enough to not be the only one who ever happened to travel astray. And you'd also have to be lucky enough that the other person, if there is one, also wrote down how it happened."

Suddenly, a smile lightened his face.

"How I treasure your mind.", he grabbed your face to kiss it once more.
