A note to new readers: This Q&A took place over a year ago now, and some of the information in this chapter no longer applies to me today.

("Why," you may be wondering, "is What's My Age Again? up in the media?" That's a good question, friend. There is a reason for it. (¬‿¬))

🍭🍭🍭🍭🍭🍭🍭🍭🍭🍭🍭🍭🍭🍭🍭🍭🍭🍭🍭🍭🍭🍭🍭🍭🍭🍭🍭🍭

Welcome to chapter 100!! (Or the one where I once again talk way too much XD) AAAAA I can't believe I've made it this far already! Thank you to everyone who reads/votes/comments on this book, you all mean the world to me! It's awesome to be able to talk with people who share the same interests as me, and on top of that I've been able to make some really amazing friendships on this site!

Okay! Here we go!

I was planning on revealing my Uglydolls dollsona before the Q&A portion, but there's one question that I think I'd better answer first thing:

Q: Can you tell your name..? If it's okay with you, of course..

A: Yeah, it's okay with me lol 😉👌. My name's [REDACTED]! Hi! 💖 When (if 😅) I'm able to start publishing my writing professionally, I'm probably going to be using the name Ollie, so you can call me that too if you want to! Either one is good!

So without furthur ado *insert drumroll 🥁🥁🥁* here's my dollsona! [REDACTED version from the future. I left the outdated flags though to keep it as close as I could to how it was originally.]

Casual clothes version:

(↑ Random side note, I'm actually wearing this shirt today lol)

And while I'm at it, I thought it'd be cool if I posted some -sonas from a few of my other fandoms too:

So awhile back there was a trend where Animaniacs fans were making their own Warnersonas. But instead of that, I thought, wouldn't it be cool if I made mine a more general rubber hose animation-type character so that I can also use it for other older cartoons I love (like the older Disney shorts, or Fleischer, Merrie Melodies, cuphead, etc):

I stole Foxy's (Merrie Melodies) shoes because I love them and they give me shoe envy asdfghjkjhg XD (even though I mostly wear crocs anyway, they still look heckin'cool! 🤩😂)

The smile is permanently fixed to this one's face, no matter what it's actually feeling. Any change in emotion is expressed in the eyes and the eyebrows (and body language).

Invader Zim:

Hitting that "Vortian scientist with an eyestrain-inducing sense of fashion" demographic XD

I see a lot of people making Irken or Human -sonas, and honestly I might still do that, but I think Vortians are really cool and pretty underrated in the IZ fandom! Vort is a whole planet dedicated to the persuit of knowledge, AND it's also home to the universe's comfiest couch!

I'm pretty new to Bugsnax at the moment, but I thought I'd try my hand at making a Grumpsona:

(forgot to add this but they're roughly the same size as Gramble)

Also my only -sona with a name that isn't just my own name-- sort of. I mean, "Ollamy" is really just Ollie with another syllable shoved in there, so  ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

"Reidscribble" comes from my hobbies (Reid = read, and scribble could mean either writing or drawing).

Ouran Host Club:

This is my first time trying to imitate the OHSHC art style. I'm very happy with how it turned out (✿◡‿◡)👍. I tried to make it look like a color insert page of the manga because I really admire the way Hatori stylizes the characters.

This could also be considered a general anime-sona. The only thing that changes between different animes would be the clothes, so XD.

(P.S. I forgot to draw my ace ring on the one in the dress, just pretend it's there shhh 😅)

And lastly, since I made a rubber hose-era character, I thought I may as well try one with a more modern animation style too!

(FYI, if you're trying to picture what I look like in your head, this one is the most accurate):

(full disclosure, I got the pose from a DTIYS by lila.rtz on Instagram)

This was really fun to draw, I think I may draw more in this style in the future!

And here's what I actually look like. I've blurred out the insides of my glasses, hopefully that's enough censorship to discourage any scullduggery XD (ft. the adorable psychopath on my lap 😸 If she looks pleased with herself it's because she's just dumped her toys all over the floor 😼😹😹.)

So! Now that y'all know what I look like, on to the questions!!! (๑•̀ㅂ•́)و✧

Q: When's your birthday? And how old are you gonna be? I'd like to know..

A: Today!! (Or May 28th if you're reading this later) 🎉🎉 I turn 23 today! Yeah ik, I'm pretty old 😅😂😂

Q: What part of the United States do you live in?

A: I'm from the American Midwest, specifically Iowa! 💛

Q: (continued from previous) And how is life there? (...) I would like to know what the lifestyle is like there..

A: Oh boy, how to explain American culture... (any readers out there also from America, you might help me out in the comments just in case I do a poor job of explaining this 😅😂)

There are a lot of things about living in America that are wonderful!💖🤍💙 ...And quite a few not-so-wonderful things as well. 😅 One thing that I should mention is that the United States is massive compared to other countries. It's the size of an entire continent. Because of that, rather than there being one American culture, it's more like it's split up into 5  or 6 smaller cultures. They all have some similarities, but I (who live in the Midwest) don't live in exactly the same environment as a reader who lives in, say, the West Coast, or the East Coast, or the South, or the West (yes, the West is different from the Midwest. No, I don't understand it either. XD).

America is also a mix of all sorts of cultures, religions, races, sizes, ages, and careers from all over the world. It's tough to think of a certian way to be or look American, because the people here are so veried. There's a lot of emphasis on people finding their own path, individuals discovering what works for them and chasing after it. The "American Dream" is based on the fact that everyone should be able to persue what brings them happiness (it's even in our constitution!). Sadly though, that doesn't always happen. We're having so really big problems in our country right now with some people not getting an equal opportunity to chase their dreams, whether that be because of their race, or gender, or neurotype, etc. Because of that (and for a few other reasons), recently there have been protests in our streets and cities. It's good because hopefully if enough people speak up, we can work towards repairing the broken systems that are prioritizing some people over others, but it's also a bit scary sometimes seeing riots and such on the news.

Another thing about America that I'm not a big fan of is that it's very political here. There are two main parties in our government system, and pretty much everything relates back to those parties in some way. People will treat each other differently depending on what their political party they belong to. The news channels say they're reporting "facts", but you have to be careful because some channels skew the so-called facts to boost their ratings with whichever political party is their target audience (Not every channel though. It seems to me like it's only the most extreme cases on both sides that do this). It's almost like there's a political binary here, and those of us who don't relate fully with either party are kind of in a strange spot.

But there's also a lot to do and see here! Compared to other nations, I think that it's a fairly wealthy country. The portion sizes are large here, and there's a lot of meat on the menu! Also a lot of unnatural-looking, flourescant colors in the food. It's completely normal here to walk into a store and see a package of cookies with neon blue frosting or something. Some tradionally American foods are cheeseburgers (usually with a side of fries), hot dogs, mac and cheese,  buffalo chicken wings, the reuben sandwich, apple pie, biscuits and gravy, clam chowder, barbeque, California roll sushi, and chocolate chip cookies! Not all Americans eat junk food or processed food though, like I said earlier, there's all sorts of different people, with all sorts of different diets.

When it comes to "Midwestern culture", I don't live on a farm or anything like that, but I do refer to soda as "pop", and I do say "ope" whenever I bump into something XD. Football (American football, that is. Not soccer.) seems to be a big deal here in Iowa and Nebraska for some reason, I'm not sure why. I never was a big fan of the game, but then again I haven't been able to figure out the rules yet. Foods like beef, pork, and corn are really celebrated here, because we raise them here. Oh, and there's this one restaurant chain that's only in Nebraska called Runza, I really like their food! Their specialty is called a runza, it's beef that's mixed with cabbage, onions, and black pepper and then baked inside of balls of dough, so when it's done the bread is sealed around it completely (It's a lot tastier than it sounds, especially if you eat it with cheese!)

(I also talk about the kind of weather we get in Iowa further down in the Q&A.)

You might find this video pretty interesting as well. The whole bit about "Americans are so friendly" isn't necessarily true in some situations, but the rest of it seems pretty accurate to this American native!

↑ ALSO IN OTHER NEWS THIS VIDEO IS THE FIRST TIME I FOUND OUT THAT CULVERS IS ONLY IN THE MIDWEST?! LIKE WHAT??? FIRST RUNZA AND NOW CULVERS, WHAT DO THE REST OF Y'ALL EAT?!!

Here's another one about my home sweet home in the Midwest 💛 (quick note, in the video, when he says Little Rock, Arkansas, he actually means Topeka, Kansas):

Q: Hmmmmmmm well what's your top 3 favourite animes (you don't have to name all 3 of you don't want to)

A: This was a tough one. Right away I knew that numbers 1 and 2 would be Kaiba and Ouran High School Host Club, but I had to think awhile on what the my 3rd favorite would be. There's so many that I love a lot! Bungo Stray Dogs, Haikyuu!!, Free!, HoriMiya, Haven't You Heard? I'm Sakamoto, Assassination Classroom, Attack on Titan, Tokyo Ghoul, Ajin: Demi-human, Puella Magi Madoka Magica, ACCA: 13-Territory Inspection Dept.,  and that's barely scratching the surface! At first I thought maybe Monthly Girls Nozaki-kun would be number 3, but tbh I like the manga a lot better than the anime.

In the end, if I'm sticking strictly to anime-only, the answer ended up being:

1. Kaiba

2. Ouran Highschool Host Club

3. Hetalia

If you were curious, my top 3 favorite mangas are:

1. Ouran High School Host Club

2. Monthly Girls Nozaki-kun

3. Pandora Hearts

(But there a LOT of awesome mangas out there too!! Way too many to list asdfghjkjh I'd be here forever XD.)

Q: What's a pet peeve you have?

A: When people try to force their opinions onto other people, when it's about something that doesn't harm anyone. Whether that be by expecting everyone in a fandom to have the same headcanons or ships as you, or looking down on somebody because of the things they like (ESPECIALLY if the only reason is because they like something that's considered "cringe").

Now, that doesn't mean I don't like people having differences of opinion, or expressing that opinion. I have nothing against discourse, as long as everyone involved treats each other like human beings. But I've seen way too many instances where that doesn't happen.

✅Here's a few examples of statements that don't annoy me:

"I hate shaving. I have nothing against it if other people like to shave, but I can't stand it."

"I don't like wearing skirts, I hate the way they feel against my legs."

"Y'know, I never did really get into animated movies. I just don't like them very much, I prefer action movies."

"[charcater] x [character] is my OTP, and I love it, idc what people say!" (provided the ship is not romanticizing something harmful)

"Ick, I'm not a big fan of brussel sprouts. You do you though ig..."

"I've always headcannoned her as being asexual and sapphic!^^"

"Domestic abuse hurts people terribly, and we should not pretend that it is normal or okay."

"Could somebody who likes Kyoya Ootori explain to me the appeal of his character? He's my least favorite character, but I see a lot of people on this site simping for him. Clue me in, what am I missing???"

"Monoma is my least favorite character."

"My favorite character is Monoma. It's just an opinion, and I should not have to be put on trial to defend that. If you hate him so much you feel the need to leave rude comments, please DNI."

"You bring up some very interesting arguments. But, have you also considered [insert politely worded counter argument]?"

Or simply, "Yeah, I don't like [insert anything here]."

❌...Compared to a few that do:

"Why would you take him seriously, look, he's literally got  a man bun!"

"I liked cartoons when I was nine, but you know what? I'm a man now. Maybe it's time to grow up, buddy."

"Pastors these days are more worried about trying to be seeker-friendly, with their smoke machines and skinny jeans."

"If you don't ship [character]x[character], you're a homophobe."

(on somebody else's fan art account) "[character] would never wear those clothes because (launches into a long explanation of a headcanon that the owner of the page does not share)."

"Ew, cringe." (used unironically)

"Nobody uses that meme format anymore. It's not cool, it's unfunny and overrated. I'm guessing you're some nine-year-old who stole their mom's ipad."

"People who watch CinemaSins are 🤢🤮🤮🤮"

"Whatever, he/his pronouns."

"Yeah, whatever, Sans fangirl" or the similar, "Shut up, you literally draw Country Humans."

(recolors somebody else's art) "There! I fixed it!"

And this one especially burns me up (plz read it in a  judgemental voice): "People who [insert something trivial here, like listen to the radio or wear tattoos or smth] aren't real Christians."

Q: What first got you into writing?

A: Well, I guess you could say what got me into writing was reading! I've loved reading ever since I was very young. And because of that, stories were pretty much always on my mind. When I was younger I had very strong synesthesia, and I related colors to personalities. When I colored in my coloring books, I would make up stories about how the colors were getting along together. I would also think up stories about the things I was coloring, about what Strawberry Shortcake or Raggedy Anne and Andy or the Lisa Frank kitties were up to. Or I'd make up silly little adventures to act out, and my Beanie Babies and My Little Ponies and Care Bears were the actors. But most of all I read whatever I could get my hands on. Both of my older siblings had already been in school for awhile, so there were a lot of those scholastic and puffin paperback-type books lying around. I would read stuff that was meant for my age level (Dr. Suess, The Very Hungry Catepillar, Brown Bear Brown Bear, etc.) and I would also read my older brother and sister's books, skipping over the words I didn't know (which made it very confusing sometimes XD). Sometimes I'd even read a random book I found around the house, like my dad's Calvin and Hobbes collection, or a medical encyclopedia on cats that we own for some reason.

In elementary school I was in the gifted program from reading and language arts class (not exactly a stellar achievement when you're only in 3rd grade lol, but it was still fun). Sometimes I would write short stories in my free time (usually with scented markers and crayola pencils on a sheet of printer paper XD). It was never something I took too seriously, I wasn't thinking of it as something I wanted to do in the future. It was just fun. Actually, a lot of times it was just silly little adventures I had acted out eith my stuffed animals earlier.

I had a lot of fun in english class in school. In 6th grade my creative writing teacher suggested that I might start writing as a career. At the time I didn't put much stock in the suggestion, but I think that's the first time the thought ever really occured to me that writing could be a job. In middle school most of my friends were in the MLP:FIM fandom, and they introduced me to the concept of fanfiction. Later that same year, I became a major fan of several music artists and began to write my own fanfictions (more on that later). The more fanfictions I wrote, the more appealing the idea of writing original stories started to seem. In 7th grade the idea popped into my head for what later became Hugo's Story, the story I'm still working on currently. (And in the chapter of this book titled How I Got Into Uglydolls, I went more into detail about how I got back into fanfiction again, in addition to still noodling around with some original works.)

Q: What's something dumb you've done that your super proud of?

A: Well, I've made a swivelling storage unit out of a broken bar stool and a bunch of empty ice cream containers.

Is it practical? Probably not (I mean, it does store things, so maybe a tiny bit??). Does it look cool? Yes it does. 😎

Q: If a IZ character had the chance to meet a Uglydolls character, who would those 2 peeps be?

A: OOOO this is a fun one! I'd say probably Dib and Ket (there's a picture of Ket my ugly info chapter #2, and his bio is written in ugly info #3), because of their shared obsession with discovering aliens! If we're talking about characters from the Uglydolls movie, I could see Moxy and Keef getting along. (And the syrupy sweetness of all of that hyper optimism would make everybody nearby explode XD).

Q: What's one story you would never tell an irl friend but are ok with telling on the internet? ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

A: Does it count if it's actually about Wattpad itself??? XD Back in middle school I had an account on here dedicated to writing One Direction fanfiction. It... wasn't great, to say the least XD. It was full of all the clichés one would expect to see in a 1D fanfiction from the early 2010s. Louis wore stripes and liked carrots. Niall was always hungry. Justin Bieber showed up for literally no good reason sometimes. Stuff like that.

As I get older, I'm learning not to cringe too hard at myself when I look at my past phases, becasue those times of life played a part of shaping who I am today even if I no longer enjoy the things I used to. Pop singers, and One Direction in particular, used to be something which truly excited me, and I there's no point ruining a whole slew of happy memories just because my interest have changed a bit since then. But even with that in mind, considering the ethical problems tied to real-person fanfiction, I don't regret deleting that older account and not looking back lol.

My one and only regret is that I can't look back on my old stuff from when I first started writing fanfics once in a while just to laugh at it. Seriously, it was awful. XD

Q: What's the weather like where you are most of time? Like is it sunny, cloudy? Rainy? Or a mix of any of them?

A: TERRIBLE!! /lh

XD I live in Iowa, so the weather here is... Geez, how do I describe it?? Crazy? All over the place?

So, let me try to explain. The way the weather normally is around here in the Midwest goes like this: There are 4 seasons. Winter, which lasts from mid-November to around early March, usually very cold and wet. Lot's of snow and ice, and it can get down to below zero a lot of times (Fahrenheit). Spring, from mid-March to late May, getting warmer but still pretty wet. It rains a lot, and since the temperature fluxuates between hot and cold, it's the time of year when we get severe weather. Our family has a shelter in our basement in case there's tornados or large hail (our house hasn't been hit by any yet, knock on wood lol!). Summer, (my favorite time of year!) from the last part of May until early September, it get's really sunny. It can get pretty hot, sometimes up to 100 degrees, but usually close to 85-90 (again, that's in Fahrenheit). On a great day it'll be around 70 degrees. Sometimes it'll be humid, or "sticky", and that makes the heat feel worse, but other times it'll be dry. And fall/autumn, from September to November, when the leaves all turn colors and fall off of the trees. It's a really pretty time of year! It slowly starts getting colder until winter comes.

That's the way it's supposed to be, but since this is Iowa we're talking about, the weather seems to always act like is on PMS with raging cramps. Where I live it can go from hot to cold at the drop of a hat, and storms could happen pretty much any time. Idk if it's because of climate change or smth, but for some reason the weather's been especially weird lately. I am not exaggerating when I tell you this April at the beginning of the month was 5 feet of snow, and then it all melted and it got up to 80℉, and THEN we had thunderstorms and hail, and then the temperature lingered around 60℉ for the rest of the month. We're kind of numb to it by now.. Welcome to Iowa 😅.

Q: WHO'S FAVORITE UGLYDOLL?

A: I love Lou, he's my favorite lol! (Even though he's technically a pretty doll, he still counts shh XD). When it comes to the uglydolls series overall (not just the movie), I simply adore Flatwoodsy! My favorite would either be her or OG!Ox. What can I say, I have a soft spot for the lovable lil' theif XD.

🍭🍭🍭🍭🍭🍭🍭🍭🍭🍭🍭🍭🍭🍭🍭🍭🍭🍭🍭🍭🍭🍭🍭🍭🍭🍭🍭🍭🍭

WHEW OK, MY FINGERTIPS ARE NUMB NOW! XD

Thanks to everyone who made it to the end of this incredibly self-indulgent chapter! XD And of course, thanks again for helping me make it to 100! ( •̀ ω •́ )y

I love all of y'all, and rest assured I still have plenty of plans, for this book and for others! (Maybe I'll even actually finish my Uglydolls oneshots and post them, who knows? XD)
