Before the main story starts,you should know the characters

Air- Pit's son,he's carefree, lazy though he thinks on his feet in order to avoid Viridi's lectures. He does eat floor ice cream to Cy's dismay. (Anyone who's played Kid Icarus Uprising knows how much it breaks the 4th wall and this story will too.)
Cy- Magnus's son,he's very tough like his dad though he does like hugs.When he was little,his mother was killed in front of him,leaving him insecure especially when Rose takes his Fairy Orbitars. Note: he swears a lot.
Rinku- Link and Zelda's son (yes,I ship Zelink) He is an oracle for Nayru,giving him his Aqua colored hair and letting him see visions from her.
Touko- Shulk and Fiora's daughter,she keeps her cousin Rose in check and love gummy worms.She inherits her dad's Monado Arts,and before you ask,yes she is really feeling it.
Rose-Dunban's daughter,she's pretty much a high school drama queen,and girly.She rags on her little brother Kuro,and gets into fights with Cy,mainly since she took his Fairy Orbitars.
Kuro- Dunban's son, he's Summer's partner and wants to be a hero.
Summer- Reyn's daughter,she's  good hearted and fights for what's right.(If you need more of an idea,Cynthia from Fire Emblem : Awakening.)
Pokekids: Chaizard: Flame a Charmander , he's very protective of his friends
                    Pikachu : Spark a Pichu,he loves fun and his friend Xero
                    Lucario:  Rocky a Riolu,smart and calm
                    Mewtwo Mimi a mew ,well every one knows Mew!
                    Greninja: Bubble, a Froakie, loyal
Xero:Phosphora's daughter, she wants to be with her friends, and save the world.Her mother told her stories about the 4th smash tournament when she was little,so she knew about the past.When she was about 4, her and her mother were at a market and Xero started crying from all of the noise so her mother got her a plush of the legendary rider,Silas(yeah  this is where it gets confusing, Marth,Ike and Roy have kids but Xander and Silas from Fire Emblem Fates make appearances near the end) which Xero still has and fuels her crush for the cavalier.
Slash- Megaman's son,he has the weapons of the Light Numbers and a few other bosses ( the 9th numbers and Quick Man). He's laid back and goes with the flow.
Ice- Roll and Ice Man's son, he's a bit naive but is good hearted.
Dash- Quick Man's son,the only thing he has of his father is his crest from the helmet,which Dash stuck on his own.
Flare- Little Mac's son,he prefers magic over physical strength but wants to be like his dad,though he loves chocolate (we all know who passed that down and if you don't it's Little Mac's trainer,Doc Louis)
Marc- Robin's daughter(yes I know Morgan exists, but I like Marc better),she's one of 2 tacticians of the army. For anyone wondering,her mother is Say'ri,not Tharja (please don't hurt me)
Asu- Cutman's son, he's a fair merchant,though he wants to see the world. He unintentionally makes cut puns.
