Nightstrike struggled to keep her eyes open. Sparkstar padded out of his den, yawned, and stretched. He padded up to her.

"Your vigil is over." He told her, and Nightsrike sighed in relief. Sparkstar laughed. "Go to your den and get some rest." He smiled, a gleam in his eye. Nightstrike began padding towards the apprentice den, but stopped, remembering. I'm a warrior now. She reminded herself, changing direction and entering the warrior den. She smiled, there was already a nest set up for her, lined with down feathers. It was right next to Puddlenose and Staticface. Puddlenose was awake and yawning.

"Nightstrike! Welcome to the warrior den!" She purred, licking Nigthstrike on the cheek. Staticface yawned and got to his feet.

"Hey Nightstrike!" He yawned. Nightstrike looked over to see Gazepelt sleeping on the other side of her nest. She smiled, and lay down.

"Thank you." She mumbled, before closing her eyes and slipping into a dream.

Nightstrike was in an unfamiliar clearing. She stood up, and looked around. A strange silhouette could be seen just behind the trees. The figure stepped forward, and Nightstrike gasped. It was Lightstar, but it didn't  look like her. The half skeleton Sylveon smiled creepily. She dissapearded into the bushes and soon reappeared with Zapkit hanging from her jaws by his scruff. He had a cut across his forehead, blood covering his eyes, but Nightstrike could tell he was unconscious.

"Zapkit!" She screamed, jumping forward, but Ligthstar dropped Zapkit and pounced at her. The rolled on the ground for a second before lightstar came out on top. She let dug her claws into her shoulders.

"You will not have him." She hissed, her voice ragged. "No, you will not have him. You have taken everything I love away from me. Now I will take everything from you." She let Nightstrike up and padded over to Zapkit. She picked him up in her teeth again. "Starting with this whelp."  She started padding away into the shadows, but she paused. "If you ever want to see your precious kit again," Lightstar spat, "you'll come to the hollow tree across the border."  She raced away into the trees. Nightstrike ran over to where Zapkit had lay. A few drops of blood had spattered the grass. She sank to the ground.

"I have to do this.." She whispered.

Nightstrike jolted awake. She felt pain in her shoulders, and looked to see claw marks. "It was real.."

"What was that?" Nightstrike turned to see Gazepelt.

"Nothing." She smiled slightly. He'll miss me. She thought. They walked out of the den together. Gazepelt turned to her.

"All the patrols are out but we could go hunting together." Gazepelt suggested. Nightstrike bit her lip and reluctantly accepted. She didn't want to waste any time, but she had to go hunting one last time with him. Gazepelt and Nightstrike ran out of the camp together. Gazepelt stopped, signaling with his tail for her to halt too. She pricked her ears and heard tiny feet. The scent of sentret filled her nose. Gazepelt pounced, missing a patch of leaves where it hid. The normal type Pokemon dashed out of the pile, skittering away. Nightstrike yowled, running after it. She jumped into the sky, catching up to the prey quickly. She dove down and hit its back, killing it instantly. Gazepelt ran up, panting.

"Nice.. Catch.. Nightstrike!" He gasped, catching his breath. "You were... Fast!" Nightstrike blushed. She dug a small hole and buried her prey.

"Let's get some more." She smiled. They padded around for awhile, but didn't catch as many as they had in greenleaf. Nightstrike had a pidgey and a sentret, and Gazepelt caught a bidoof by the river. They had also missed a parat and a pidove. Nightstrike carried her two pieces of prey in her mouth, and Gazepelt carried his with his mind. They made it back to camp at the same time as a patrol, and they all dropped their prey on the fresh kill pile.

A bit later the sun started to set. Gazepelt and Nightsong shared a bunnelby. When they were done, they shared tongues, and eventually the clan retreated to their dens. Gazepelt and Nightstrike did as well. Nightstrike waited for awhile, before slinking out of the den.

"I'm coming Zapkit." She whispered.

Gazepelt pricked his ears. He cracked open his eyes. Nightstrike was leaving. Where? He waited for a second, before following stealthily. He heard her whisper something.  Who is Zapkit? He thought suspiciously, and followed Nightstrike out of camp.

Nightstrike wound her way expertly through the trees. She took to the skies, flying above the treetops to go faster. She knew the way, and quickly arrived at the hollow tree. She threw aside the vines and looked in. Zapkit was gone.

"To late.." Nightstrike cried softly. She heard a twig snap behind her. Nightstrike flew out of the hollow tree onto the ground. Lightstar stood there, half skeleton, holding Zapkit in her jaws.

"Not to late Nightstrike." Lightstar spat. "So..?"

"Take me." Nightstrike urged. She didn't notice Gazepelt peering out from the bushes. "Just don't hurt Zapkit. Do whatever you want to me." Lightstar smirked.

"As you wish." She placed Zapkit in the hollow, before padding back to Nightstrike. "You'll get what you deserve." She suddenly lunged forward, slashing her claws across Nightstrike's neck. Nightstrike fell to the ground, her breathing ragged. "Revenge is sweet." Lightstar smiled, admiring the blood on her claws. Nightstrike closed her eyes, and expelled one last ragged breath, before her body was still. Lightstar's laughing echoed through the silent forest. "My work here is done." Her form flickered, and she dissapeard into  the shadows.

Gazepelt watched the whole scene unfold with horror. When Lightstar vanished he ran to Nightstrike's side.

"Starclan no.." He whispered, voice shaky. He shakily put his ear to her chest, but there was no heartbeat. "No.. NO... NIGHTSTRIKE!!!!" He yowled. "Wake up wake up!!" He pleaded, sobbing, but Nightstrike was dead.

Dun dun dun.......
