Luke and I have been spending time together since we got out of school. I love it when we do, because I know that I still have a friend no matter what happens.

"Lila, do you wan . . to, uh, never mind," Luke said, stopping at the light and looking embarrassed. I smiled at it and gigged.

"What? Oh, by the way, your face is as bright as the red light," I teased. He turned even more red, trying to look away.

"You're so mean to me," Luke pouted as I was in tears of laughter.

The light turned green, and he put his window down a little. Then, he pulled up into a parking lot filled with cars. But, he found a spot way in the back.

"Luke?" I turned to him and saw him thinking hard about something. He looked at me, and I knew he's afraid of something or what to say.

"Yes?" he asked, his sad voice making me want to pull him out of the car and hug the fun-filling doughnut boy.

Ha, fun filling doughnut boy. Aha, he can be filled extra fun jam. Ugh snap out of it, Lila; your thinking way to much of that.

"Please tell me; why are you sad?" I pleaded

"I wanted to know if you would like to spend the night since my parents are out of town. I got awesome movies for you, and I have your favorite food ready," he replied. Wow, I didn't expect that from him. Hmm, I wonder what's the special occasion; why would he do this?

"I will see what I can do but, why do you want that so bad?"

Luke's eyes widen but answered like it was nothing: "To show you that you need a day with your best friend and to relax." He beamed in joy of his answer as his shoulders relaxed.

I looked at time on my phone and remembered that my mom is inviting her boss for dinner. She's been working hard to upgrade on job as a business manger, and I promised I'll help her out with the cooking and cleaning.

"Luke I need to get home; ASAP." He looked confused and he took off in a hurry.

"Was it something I said?" I saw a hint of worry in him.

"No; I'll explain later on but let me know when you want to have that. I can't right now but tomorrow for sure." He smiled, making a left turn and then pulling up to the house.

"Good luck, Lila, and tell your mom that I said hi."

I nodded

"Alright; I'll see you tomorrow then." I hopped out, shutting the door as Luke drove away. Walking fast to door and glad that mom wasn't home, I can get started with dinner. I'll surprise them with steak with mushrooms on the top and corn on the side. And let's not forget baked potato and garlic bread.
