Liam's POV

Time sure has a way of going fast. I realized this as I sat on the couch that Friday after work as I looked over my notes of what we accomplished that week. At the bottom, it read 'An Abundance of Katherines.' Over the weekend, I made plans to go buy copies of that book. 'Looking for Alaska' was great, but we needed some more inspiration. Continuing to look at my notes, my eyes were starting to doze off.

"Hard week?" asked Heather who surprisingly joined me on the couch in one of her nicer dresses. Her skin was beyond radiant. She looked beyond amazing. To say the least, she certainly woke me up.

"Hard, but good. What are you up to?"

"Oh, I had an afternoon out with some old girlfriends. Lots of gossip and giggles. Nothing you would be interested in."

My hand met hers leaving her a mysterious smile. "Sounds fun. Anybody, I would know?"

"You might know a couple of them."

My lips met with her lips as we began kissing. Her hands soon found themselves taking off my belt while I pushed her down on the couch only to kiss her neck. My hand found itself on her covered breast moving up and down. A small moan escaped her mouth. A second later the door opened leading me to stop kissing and sit up in a blink of an eye. Giselle Happy , Ava, and Lady all walked through the door.

"So glad your both here," chirped a happy Giselle. "What do you both say we all take Lady out for Peter Piper tonight?"

"Where's Ricky?" I asked thinking he was a few feet behind them.

"He wasn't interested in coming. So are you in?"

"Sure, I could use a little fun. What do you say, Heather?" My body was turned towards her as her body hadn't gotten up from the couch. I sensed a lot of disappointment in her face. Her hair seemed a bit messy.

"Yeah, I guess I'll come." She stood up from the couch repositioning her dress and her covered breasts.

Within half an hour we were at one of the biggest Peter Pipers my eyes had seen. Lady was beyond excited and ran straight to the arcade forgetting she needed tokens. Heather found herself going to the bathroom as soon as she got inside.

"Haven't been here since I was a kid," I remarked.

"I better go get Lady before she knocks herself out." Giselle chased after her.

Ava looked and I stood next to each other. "What should we order?" she questioned.

"I'm thinking we'd all like a simple pepperoni pizza." She nodded and we ordered. There wasn't much of a line.

As me and Ava sat at a table waiting for the pizza to be made, Giselle caught hold of Lady and got her tokens.

"How was your week?" I asked Ava. "You and Daniel getting along?"

"It was fine. I guess Daniel and I have become OK friends. Nothing romantic like Giselle was hoping. But let me ask you this. As a guy, have you ever kissed another guy on the cheek?"

A moment was needed to think about her question. "Can't really say I have. Mostly only kissed Heather who's still in the bathroom."

She sat there a moment as it seemed like she had an abundance of questions to ask. "How did you know Heather was the one?"

Taking a big breath I spoke. "Well, I guess from the moment I saw her on the first day of college I kind of fell for her, but I was afraid to talk to her. We only met because of my writing for the school paper. But what really made we know she was the one is what happened after our first date. We went to the Peanut Butter House and I honestly hate peanut butter. Regardless, I went on the date with her and we got along so well. Great vibes all around. Of course, she figured out I hate peanut butter and felt bad which resulted in us taking a walk around town just talking and a little dancing towards the end. Around two in the morning, she bought me a big pack of Oreos at a gas station. We both ate the whole thing together. That's when I knew she was the one."

Ava just sat there amazed at everything I told her. It was a pretty awkward minute with Giselle about ready to come to the table with Lady. Thankfully she was able to say something.

"Crap, that's such a beautiful story. I don't know. How would I know if I found the one for me? Sometimes I scare myself thinking about being old and just going through life doing nothing. I don't know. I don't know how I feel. Sometimes I feel like I found this certain person and other times, maybe not."

My hand found itself gripping her hand as my eyes looked at her in seriousness. "Ava, you have to stop worrying so much. Believe me, you'll know when you found the right person. And when you know, your whole world changes." I took another deep breath. "And I can't imagine you being a bitter old lady. Believe me when I tell you, that I too worry about being old. I sometimes ask myself if I'll be happy with my life choices. But you know what I tell myself?" She nodded her head no. "At least I put in some damn effort. That's all anyone can really do."

My hand left hers as she sat back and smiled. "You should be a writer," she joked.

Giselle and Lady found themselves at the table with us in a short moment.

"Alright," she spoked a bit winded. "I have some tokens for all of us. And I saw you both ordering, so we should have enough time to get a few games in before it gets here. Is Heather still in the bathroom?"

"No, I'm here," she announced looking better compared to when we left. "Damn I'm hungry."

"Well OK," she smiled. "Let's have some fun." In that short time after Giselle spoke her last sentence, I whispered in Heather's Ear to watch her mouth around children causing her face to look annoyed.

Ava's POV

We headed straight for the basket hoop where we would have a minute to get as many balls as we could through the two hoops. Giselle decided that Lady would go first. Honestly, I was amazed at how motherly she was.

"Ok Lady, can you get the ball through the hoop?" She handed her the first ball.

She stood there holding a ball in her hand as we all cheered. A couple of seconds later she threw her ball and missed. Giselle with a smile gave her a hug and kept giving her balls to keep trying. Poor girl kept missing, but out of all us, Giselle was the most excited for her. After the little girl, we all got a turn to shoot baskets. Giselle shared most of her tickets with the girl. Within the next five minutes, more games were played. Another five minutes passed as our pizza was ready. Me and Heather were both ready to eat and sat down while Liam really got into the spirit with Giselle in the ball pit. Heather ate her pizza in complete silence ignoring me. It didn't seem like she wanted to do anything with me. While I slowly ate my first pizza, I just stared at the three of them bouncing and jumping around the pit. Joy took over me watching Giselle. I felt a strange sense of peace and nervousness as I watched. At certain points, I wanted to cry in happiness at seeing Giselle and the little girl together. Her perfect smile made me smile without realizing it.

Giselle's POV

I hadn't had this much exercise in a long time. Who knew a ball bit could be so demanding and at the same time, so fun? Lady was an expert at jumping and running through the balls. Me and Liam both chased her. Her laughter was toxic causing the both of us to laugh. Liam caught up to her and pinned her down to blow on her belly. She absolutely loved it and wanted more of it. Liam gave her more. Eventually, he stopped waiting for her to catch her breath, but she couldn't stop laughing.  A giant smile took over Liam's face leaving him to chuckle a bit. I too smiled with my face red. My eyes met with his leaving us to smile all the more. A sense of peace took over me. His eyes were beautiful and I honestly couldn't stop looking at them. His eyes awkwardly stared at mine giving him a few giggles. Without paying attention, Lady started to calm down and caught her breath.

"Is the pizza ready? I'm hungry." She repeated herself a few times until Liam noticed.

"Yeah, I believe the pizza is ready. Come on, let's go eat."

The child zoomed out of the pin to go get pizza. Being the old people we were, we couldn't zoom out like she did. Liam was the first one to get out, grabbing my hand to help me out.

"You're going to make a great mother someday." His hand poked my arm.

"I think we're going to make some damn amazing parents." I poked his stomach.

As we walked to the table, our hands hit a few times. And for whatever reason, my heart grew nervous.
