Sometimes, it can be wacky when you're in a school with humans and monsters. Sometimes, it can be weird. Sometimes, it becomes awkward because monsters have to learn about human anatomy while humans have to learn about monster magic.

But most of the time, it was awesome. That's what Frisk and Sans had always thought.

The both of them were juniors at Mt. Ebott High School, where both monsters and humans were welcomed. Most of the schools on the surface cater to only humans or only monsters, but this school was one of the few who catered to both of them.

And it was a really good thing, because this was where the very studious human girl Frisk met the very charming skeleton, Sans.

It all happened during their freshman years. The both of them were always in the same classes and by some crazy coincidence, they were always sitting next to each other. Soon enough, they started bond over their love for puns and hot dogs, going for lunch together, walking back home from school together, teaming up for projects, visiting each other's homes...

And then, on the day when school would end for summer break before their junior year began, Sans told Frisk to meet him at the fountain near the entrance of the school after 5pm.

And as he caught her off-guard, he kissed her. On the lips. For a long time.

Ever since that magical moment, they had been dating over the whole summer holiday, so often that Toriel, Frisk's adoptive goat monster mother, would always ask her whether she had planned a date with Sans every single day. The same happened with Sans and his brother, Papyrus.

Eventually, the days of summer vacation slowly faded away, and the leaves slowly changed colour from green to shades of orange, yellow and red.

Autumn had arrived. And now, school was starting again.

Frisk paced back and forth at the school gate, ignoring the swarms of students entering the school as she repeatedly combed her hair, hoping that she looked presentable. Her outfit surely made her look like a doll; in her shoulder-length brown hair was a pink hairband and she was wearing a denim blue long-sleeved shirt, a deep red knee-length skirt, black knee socks and white pumps. There was a white scarf wrapped around her neck to protect herself from the cold, and her grey canvas backpack was on her back.

"Where is he?" She asked herself, tapping her foot on the floor. "I thought he would come early to walk with me to school but-"

"But he's right here," A deep male voice echoed in her ears as she was hugged by someone from behind. Frisk gave out a startled gasp but started to giggle as she cautiously touched the hands that were laced around her waist. She could recognise that voice anywhere. The voice of her sweet, charming boyfriend: Sans the skeleton.

The skeleton was looking a lot more dashing than usual. Normally, he would be wearing a white sweater, an ocean blue jacket with fluffy white trims, a pair of black pants and a pair of blue running shoes. But today, he was wearing a white long sleeved shirt, a denim blue vest, a navy blue scarf, brown pants and a pair of black sneakers. His brown sling bag hung from his shoulder as he attacked Frisk with a hug from behind.

"You're late," She giggled as she tried to wriggle her way free from Sans' grasp to no avail. "We were supposed to walk to school together, remember?"

"One; we're still early, it's only seven-thirty and school start at eight. And two; I'm sorry that I couldn't walk with ya today. Papyrus really wanted me to walk with him today." He flashed Frisk an apologetic look. "Will you forgive me, doll?"

The human girl sighed in response, secretly relishing Sans' subtle pun. "Of course I will, ya bonehead," She replied, planting a kiss on his cheek. He grinned as he kissed her back on the lips.

As they broke apart, Sans walked to the girl's side and held up his hand similar to how a duke would do to his duchess. "Shall we enter our junior year together, Madame Frisk?" He asked in a fancy accent.

Frisk giggled again and locked arms with him. "Of course we shall, Sir Sans," She replied in a similar manner as the both of the walked into the school together.

"I feel like my head is going to burst," A blue-scaled fish monster face-planted the cafeteria table and groaned in frustration.

"Undyne, a-are you alright?" A shy yellow dinosaur monster sitting next to Undyne asked in concern.

"Maybe her brain cells got fried from the all the new things we learned, hehe." Frisk said thoughtfully.

At this, Undyne stood up and started flailing her arms madly. "It's not just my brain cells! I FEEL LIKE I'M SUFFOCATING!!" She hollered before turning to Frisk. "Don't you feel like there's too much that they're jamming into our heads for the first day?"

The brunette shrugged. "Can't say that I do," She gave Undyne an apologetic look.

"Besides, she's not even underwater." Sans added with a wink.

It took Undyne a full minute before she started thrashing about, trying to slap Sans on the face. "ALPHYS LEMME AT HIM!!" She screamed as the yellow dinosaur continued to hold her back. "U-Undyne, we d-don't need a f-fight in here!" She stuttered her reply.

"ALPHYS IS RIGHT, UNDYNE!" Papyrus, Sans' brother, agreed. "NOW WOULD NOT BE A GOOD TIME FOR A FIGHT!"

"Wow, you two look like you're having a hard time," Sans said, a mischievous glint in his eyes. "Do you need me to lend you a helping fin?"

"SANS!" Alphys and Papyrus exclaimed in unison.

The cheeky skeleton only chuckled as he relished in the sound of his girlfriend's laughter. Without her noticing, Sans scooched closer to her and wrapped his left hand around his shoulders, pulling the human girl closer to him. Frisk didn't resist and simply gave him a side hug as they watch Undyne thrash about even more.

That was when Undyne's flailing arms hit the edge of one of the plates on their table, a plate with a lemon meringue pie, and sent the pie flying above her and backwards. Immediately, Undyne stopped thrashing and the couple opposite of her stopping laughing instantly. Everyone's eyes were on the creamy pie as it soared across the air and landed on a human boy's head.

Almost everyone in the cafeteria gasped in unison, monsters and humans alike.

And then, a shrill loud voice rang out: "FOOD FIGHT!!!"

All hell broke loose. Humans and monster all picked up food from their plates and started to hurl them at each other. It looked just like arrows were being thrown from both sides. Strings of noodles and pieces of meat and pizza slices were thrown from all sides. Some unlucky passers-by who had no idea what was happening were all covered from head to toe with tomato sauce from spaghetti or with cream and frosting from cakes. It was chaos everywhere!

As Undyne, Alphys and Papyrus were unfortunately dragged into the battle, Sans and Frisk hid themselves under their cafeteria table, chortling in laughter.

"We'll be safe down here, doll," Sans whispered, hoping that no one would discover their hiding place.

"Uh-huh," Frisk whispered back in excitement, a wide smile on her face. "If only you hadn't make that pun though!" She noted. "This wouldn't have happened if you hadn't!"

Sans was almost afraid that Frisk was mad at him, but the smirk on her face said otherwise. "Well, at least we get a front row seat to a grand food fight," He pointed out.

"But how are we gonna get out of here?" She replied, laughing a little. It sounded a bit stupid actually; there was no answer to that question. "I mean, I know that we're safe now, but still-"

"Hold on doll, who ever said that you're really that safe here?"

The change of Sans' tone from mischievous to devious made Frisk widen her chestnut brown eyes. As she ominously turned to the skeleton sitting next to her, she was pounced by him to the floor, her hands pinned down by Sans, that grin on his face looking as cheeky as ever.

"Remember that one rule about food fights," Sans slurred in a sinister fashion.

"Trust no one."

And in less than a second, Frisk's face was covered with the cream of another lemon meringue pie that Sans kept with him under the table. She instantly stood up, pushing Sans off of her, and started wiping her face wildly. "SANS!" She screamed, though her voice still sounded kind of happy.

Meanwhile, Sans was laughing boisterously until he had tears in his eyes. "You should have seen the look on your face! Priceless! Ah, I wish I had a camera." He remarked as he wiped a tear away. Frisk looked at him with a pouty face before she came up with a great comeback.

As Sans was distracted by his laughing fit, the brunette suddenly grabbed onto his shoulders and pulled him closer to her face. The skeleton stopped laughing as soon as this happened, and as he found himself facing Frisk's cream-covered face, he gulped.

Then, Frisk leaned in to give Sans a kiss, essentially spotting his face with dots of yellowish cream. The kiss only lasted for a short second and Frisk leaned away from Sans with a smile of accomplishment on her face.

"Take that, pie-face!" She puffed her chest proudly, but she wasn't given much time to relish her victory as Sans pulled her to him again and, closing his eyes, he gave her another kiss. This time, it lasted for a few minutes, and this time, Frisk could have sworn that Sans had started licking up the cream on her lips and on her cheeks.

His wet tongue swiftly swept up against the skin on her chin and her cheeks, eating up all of the cream that was on her face. The gesture made the human girl's cheeks turn crimson and piping hot. When he was done, he opened his right eye and stuck out his tongue at her with a seductive gaze. It made Frisk cover her face with her hands, completely embarrassed of her red face.

"What's wrong, doll?" Sans asked in a deep and sexy tone as he tried to pry her hands away from her face. "I think that judging by that look on your face, you seemed to really like it."

Frisk refused to answer, shuffling her body further away from Sans. But that didn't stop Sans from crawling over to her and giving her a hug from behind, just like this morning. "Alright, alright, I'm sorry for doing that, angel," He apologized genuinely, patting on her arm to get her attention. "I just get excited when you make a frisky move like that." He chuckled at his own pun, and that seemed to make the human girl smile.

"Forgive me?" He asked again for forgiveness and Frisk replied with a wide smile. "Of course, ya devil,"

The two of them stayed under the table as the food fight continued, giving each other a few pecks on the cheeks and drawing pictures with lemon meringue cream. Just like the war between humans and monsters in the past, there would be conflict all around, and a relationship between a human and monster would be forbidden.

But this one relationship between a human and a skeleton monster, was one that not even food fights could tear apart.
