To be honest, this ship is not that bad. Judging the chemistry between their personalities. They don't have that much characteristics that makes them clash against other. Making it compatible for them to have a relationship with each other I mean think about it.

He has guided Frisk throughout the game. Giving advice to what actions he/she will do next. Preventing what could have been a genocide run when he/she was stable. I've seen a few books where some boys or girls fall in love with a person who helps them in their joys or strife. Creating bonds through support and comfort. Possibly this situation can apply to how this ship will work. As friends, brother or sister like-relationship and possibly developing into something romantic as the story progresses on

The main problem in this ship is the ability to reset.

It is revealed in one of the fights  that occurs during the genocide run. It has shown that Sans is revealed to have crippling depression due to the number of resets caused by Frisk. Giving an explanation on why he is so lazy and saying puns to mask his depression due to the fact he had to see his happy ending to be stripped away from him. Sometimes witnessing his friends to murdered to a person he trusted the most.

BUT!

As they say ! Wounds need time to heal. It is possible they can restore their trust but it will take some time before can go back to the way they used to. If Sans learns to forgive Frisk that is. And by the way, I don't believe it that romance comes in a flick of an eye. ( A/N: To all you FRANS HATERS, PEOPLE WHO THINK IT'S PEDOPHILIA)

There are some lovers that had to wait for each other when one of their partners have to reach the age of consent. I mean look at Phineas and Ferb. Ferb at the age of 12 started to develop feelings to Vanessa.  who was 16 yrs even if he was a kid and after 4 years, they became a thing. Or look at Mlp: Time Fades by http://wadusher0.deviantart.com/art/Time-Fades-Fluttershy-4-593430088. Spike first babysat Gale when she was a filly. Then they became close friends and BAM! Lovers. Making the Pedophilia thing just a cheap tactic to hate Frans shippers.
