The corrupt creatures were flocked around the entrance of the only stocked supermarket in the city, their only food and equipment supply. They both knew it would be nearly impossible to get through them without getting badly injured, but they needed the supplies. They hid behind an old road barrier so they were able to discuss their thoughts and plans without getting caught by The Forgotten. If they do get caught, it's game over, so their plan must work. She grabbed some old paper and a pen from her backpack and started frantically scribbling down every possible route they could take. "If we could somehow get up here without getting caught, then we travel over to here, try to slice up some of the guys with my katana as quietly as possible, then enter here..." she planned, frantically pointing at the small map she drew on the paper, " Then we should be able to get into the shop. I grab the supplies and you cover me."

"But how would we get out?"

"The same way as we got in."

"Do I always need to cover you? Why can't I get the stuff for once"

"You're way stronger than me, and besides, you can kill multiple FG at once and my katana only does it one at a time. You covering me is way faster and simpler."

"Fine...I see your point," Forter stated, sighing. She reached into her bag and took out a large sack. She then hid her backpack underneath a small sand pile next to the road barrier so it didn't slow her down. They stealthily ran behind the closest small sand dune, big enough for them to crawl behind without getting caught. There was a small gap between the supply store building and the dune they were hiding behind, so they would need to quickly run between the two without getting caught. They paused just before the end of the dune and looked over to see if any of the FG were close enough to to notice them. "All clear" she whispered to Forter, giving him a hand signal to move forward. They were stealthily running in the open towards the store until the bang of a gun in the near distance stopped them in their path. They stopped from shock and were now just standing in the middle of the sand covered road, fully visible. They were frozen for about 3 seconds then where able to move again when they finally realised what they were doing. They darted back to the sand dune to take cover."WHAT THE HELL WAS THAT?!" she whispered loudly. She heard more loud gunshot sounds in the direction of the Forgotten. They crawled up the side of the sand dune and peeped their heads slightly above the edge. She looked around the supply store to see where the gun sounds were coming from. She was expecting to find one of the rotten FG had found a loaded gun from the scraps of the shops. And if she was right, they were screwed for sure. Her eyes darted around the scene. No armed FG. "Strange..." she said to herself. "Agreed" Forter replied, knowing exactly what she was doing and what she meant. Forter usually did that. He might have received some psychic powers from the mutations from the radiation of the sun. Or maybe he just knew. Either way, it didn't really matter. Some of the Forgotten from the area to the left of them had noticed her and Forter and were progressing towards them with great speed. She was still busy studying the supply area to find the source of the gunshots, not realising the small crowd of the mutants charging towards them. The FG probably thought they might have some of the addictive gas on them, and wouldn't give up, ripping them apart, to try and find it. "Hey, I think we might need to... i don't know..." Forter worryingly said to her, pointing a paw at the flock of FG, "RUN!!!" They leaped over the sand dune in one big bound, and cleared over the road barrier with ease, grabbing their backpack mid-jump. They didn't have enough time to think where they were going, only to know to run from the vicious Forgotten that were going to rip their body into shreds. The FG blocked the closest exit from the abandoned city, so there was no escape unless they could get to the other side of the city. They would need to navigate their way through the maze of sand flooded ruins, avoiding all possible contact with the few FG spread out through the obstacles of the maze, all without getting caught by the corrupt souls chasing them. It would take a miracle to try and escape from the trouble they got their selves into. They weaved in and out of many empty, dark stores and around the ruins of multiple collapsed skyscrapers, dodging huge pains of cracked, fallen glass and sharp sheets of thick metal. All the buildings that were still standing after The Relocation were obliterated by the huge, nuclear bombs, dropped by the foreign planes at the time of The Great Nuclear War Of 89. The place was a wasteland of shrapnel and building remains. They were further into the city that they had ever been before. Even though they were an adventurous pair, they would never venture too deep into the wreck of the Abandoned City, for it was too dangerous of a place to go. She slowed down and glanced back for the first time since they started running, which was about fifteen minutes ago, and saw no sign of the pack of Forgotten that were chasing them. They stopped to take a look around. The shadows of the half destroyed skyscrapers blanketed over them, and the soft breeze pushed many small clusters of paper and light rubbish across their path. The setting sun gleamed off the remaining glass as it just peaked over the thick beams and sheets of metal of the skyscrapers above them. It was a beautiful view, but after seeing the slither of sun disappearing below the top of the building, they knew they were going to have to stay the night.
