Stein's POV
I was walking a bit behind (y/n). This way I could think and keep an eye on her. I looked at her as she had her headphones on and her music blasting. Which is fine because it gets me time to listen for anything.

She is a weapon in training as most of my students. But this wasn't a "Will you be my partner?" Or a "Stein you will be (y/n)'s partner so she can learn to be a Death Scythe." No. This was a "I know what it feels like to be alone in school with no one to see. So you may stay with me and I will be your meister." That was only a few years ago. And yet I still remember the smile she gave me. And it was the first I had seen it and the first she had ever had since she got there only months before.

She used to be just a student to me until I started to pay more attention to what happened to her. She used to be bullied by a lot of the students. Mostly because she was quiet. Others were because she was alone, an orphan, wore black, and had no meister. I remember asking her exactly why she wore black and was quiet and had no meister. Also why she was along and an orphan.

"I have no meister because I'm not much of a people person, I am an orphan because my parents were killed in a robbery when I was really little. Why the person left me alone. I will never know. I wear a lot of black because it is my happy color. That and I am usually always cold. And I am quiet because I don't like speaking . And I normally get spoken over anyway. " She looked at me with the saddest pair of (e/c) eyes anyone has ever given me.

All I wanted to do was hold her. I would give more than anything to be able to just hold her for the day. But since I am Franken Stein I cannot because people may think that I have feelings for a student of mine.

Another reason is that I do not normally show emotion. But when she told me why she is the way she was. I felt a really weird feeling in my chest. And I had a feeling of Deja Vu. It felt like I was in school again. Before I became the best meister. Before I became a Scientist, Doctor and Professor. It felt as if I was only a mere student. Before I had met Spirit. Before we became partners. But the only thing that was the same. Was the madness. That has always been around. It kept me company in the dark and made noise in the silence. I remember the day I had asked her to call me Stein and Stein alone. It was actually a few months after she moved in. She walked up to me as I was on my computer. "Hey Professor?" she had asked. "Yes?" I asked and turned to her. "Do you have any ideas on what you would like for dinner tonight?" she asked. I smiled and shook my head. "What ever you make will be fine." I said

She nodded and turned to leave. I stood and grabbed her shoulder. She jumped a bit but relaxed when she saw me. "You may call me Stein." I said. She smiled again and I smiled back. She nodded. "all right...Stein."she said. I smiled and let out a low chuckle. "You may leave now." I said and watched her as she left to the kitchen.

I remember the time I had first called her dear. I chuckled lightly. It was my birthday. I remember her. She had woken up earlier than usual and made me breakfast. She even brought it to me when I was asleep. I even remember what she said. "I made you breakfast Stein!" she said and smiled at me. I sat up and looked at her and smiled as I put my glasses on.

"Why thank you." I said as i sat up so she could put it on my lap. She ran around to the other side of the bed while I looked at her. She rolled onto my bed and looked at me as she laid down. "Go on already and try it." she said and I chuckled and took the fork in hand. I took a bite and smiled at her. "How is it?" she asked unsure.

"It is very good, dear." I said and she fist pumped the air. "Yessss." she said before she stopped and sat up. "Dear?" she asked and I nodded. I continued to eat and she smiled as wide as she did when I asked her to be my weapon. She has a smile that makes everyone else smile. She scooted over to me and threw her arms around my neck.

I looked at her surprised before moving the food and pulling her to my lap and hugging back. She looked at me and blushed. "I'll leave you to eat and get ready. I'll be in the living room. See ya in a bit Stein!" she said as she scrambled around and got up before running out of the room.

My smile faded as she left. I remember what I thought that day. I hope I didn't weird her out...But maybe that was the first physical contact she's ever had. Just maybe...."Hello? Stein?" I heard. I looked down and saw (y/n) waving her hand in front of me. "There you are. You zoned out for a bit. You alright?" she asked.

I nodded and patted her head. "Just thinking is all." I said. She nodded and we walked up the stairs. "Are you sure because I've been trying to get your attention for about ten minutes," she said. I looked at her and smiled. "I'm positive, dear." I said. She chuckled. "Stein we both know that you are not a woman so you cannot be positive," she said. I chuckled. "Indeed now let's get to class before we're late." I said as she nodded and we walked off to the room.
