Kody's eyes are full of fear when he looks at me. He tries to keep a steady tone, but as soon as I notice the obstacle I tripped over, he gasps a little. I'm looking at an unconscious Caspian.

"I-It's not what it looks like...! I swear...!" The panic is really evident in his tone.

"You have one minute to explain yourself before I decide that this situation is too incriminating." I say, stumbling to my feet.

"He's not dead! He just passed out...! Please believe me... I-I couldn't k-kill someone."

Pulling a handgun from my hidden pocket, I slowly inch towards Caspian. I check his pulse, and indeed, he's alive. "Alright... That checks out."

"I was getting help!" Tears form at the corners of his eyes.

"Okay, calm down. I'm not accusing you of anything. I can say this makes me a little wary, but your story checks out. I'll trust you for now." It's not a complete lie. He buys it.

"Th-thank you...!" He says in a loud whisper.

"Mhm." I sigh, making sure to watch Kody out of the corner of my eye. The kid is crying, but I know how easy it is for some people to fake cry. My sister taught me that. I look for any reasons why Caspian would've passed out. "Has he eaten anything recently?"

Kody sniffles a little, "I d-don't know..." He fidgets with his cell phone.

"I'll be back. If either one of you is gone from this spot when I return, there will be consequences." I feel bad being harsh, but I can't trust Kody at the moment.

He nods.

I make my way to the food room again. Sebastian looks up at me as he Mia leave. "Go back." I say coldly to the two.

"Why?" Sebastian asks. Mia hides behind him a little.

"Because I said so. Trust me."

"Fine." Sebastian goes back to the food room with myself and Mia.

I realize that being the killer must be really simple. People are so gullible. I subconsciously start planning how I would go about killing everyone. Not that I ever actually would. I just know I could if I wanted to.

Breaking from my thoughts, I grab semi-healthy food and return to Kody. By the time I get back, Caspian is awake. He doesn't look good.

"Eat." I mutter, holding out food.

"Raiden...!" Caspian says, jumping a little at my sudden appearance. Kody fidgets uncomfortably.

"I said, eat."

Caspian reluctantly takes the food. "Want some?" He asks Kody.

"Don't offer him food." Kody flinches at my words, but I hand him some of his own. He takes it, but his hands are shaking so much that I'm not sure he'll be able to eat it. He mumbles a quick thank you and sets his phone in his pocket.

Caspian doesn't look particularly happy, but he nods and eats.

Once they're both done, I sigh. "I need to talk to you." I say. "In private."

Caspian nods slowly. "Okay..." Kody also nods, but he doesn't say anything.

I lead the way to an abandoned room. "Have you found anything?"

"What?"

"Look. A good friend of mine taught me that just cutting to the chase makes life easier." I think of my earlier conversation with Ashlynn. I have a lot to tell her already.

"Kelvin is investigating a lot..." Caspian says. "He roped Daniel into it."

"Okay. What about the suspects? Do you have any?"

"Not exactly..." Caspian responds again. Kody doesn't say anything. It's obvious they're both uncomfortable.

"Alright. Let me know if you find anything. Personally, I'm not sure of any suspects, but I have a feeling the killer is trying to make us turn on each other, so stay safe out there. Don't forget to eat. Maintain a healthy sleep schedule. Remember, if you're going to die anyway, it's better to die happy than to die in fear."

Neither one says anything after that. They both just kinda look at me funny. I wonder why nobody seems to accept my advice.

"I'll be going now." Again, neither one says anything. I'm about to leave when I hear a shout.

"What was that...?" Kody asks, shaking a little. He looks genuinely scared.

"I don't know." Caspian replies. They both look to me as if I'm supposed to know.

"Let's figure it out." I say.

They follow me down the hallway into the crowd growing in a secluded room. I can see Kody's horrified expression through his gasp. I don't have to look at either of my companions to know they share the sinking feeling I have in my stomach. In front of us is a room full of knives. Not just any knives, but knives stabbed into the walls. The wallpaper curls off, some of it burnt a little. I carefully survey the ripped wallpaper and the shockingly clean knives in the walls. There are holes where knives were stabbed in and then removed. It's mildly disturbing.

"You'd have to be pretty sharp to take a stab at figuring this room out." Daniel says, probably the only person not staring dumbfounded at the horror-movie-like room. "This really living life on the edge. I can't get a handle on the situation." He finishes. Few people laugh. His humor is really bad, but I envy that guy's positivity.

"I'll be back later, okay?" Caspian says, not bothering to wait for my reply. He walks over to Daniel and some girl. I recognize her from the first murder scene as the crying one Ashlynn helped out. I wonder where Ashlynn is.

"I'm gonna g-go, too..." Kody slowly inches away from me.

"See ya..." I reply, too weirded out to be reassuring. I begin looking for Ashlynn. I catch her eye just as she leaves the room. Her expression screams 'come talk'. I nod in her direction before finding a way out.

Before leaving, I take note that Daniel left Caspian and that girl alone. I think about how Caspian could know her. Perhaps it's important. Probably not.

I leave, looking for Ashlynn and trying not to attract attention to myself.
