Chapter 49:

The beautiful Khanna mansion was crowded with guests. Avni was standing on the stage with Aman and everyone's eyes were on Avni especially Neil who was desperate to know what Avni thinks about him. Avni looks at Neil.

Avni: Ab aa people say that the first impression is the last impression maybe it was true but in our case, it is completely wrong because when I met Neil the first time, my opinion about him was not so good.

Neil smiles to recall their first meeting where they collided and fell.

Avni: but slowly and gradually my thinking about him changed I saw a nice and humble person in him. His heart is pure. He is a man of his words and I like his this quality. The thing which I like the most about him is his understanding he does not make decisions in hurry and believe in resolving the matter, not dragging the matter. Every girl finds a friend in her husband and expects that her husband treats her like a friend and I am lucky that I got a good friend in the shape of Neil who understands me, who respects me and my emotions and I am sure that he will be proven an ideal husband. All claps and Avni gives the mike to Aman and moves to go.

Aman: mind-blowing, Di. Honestly, I did not expect that but you nailed it. Superb.

Neil comes forward to give her a hand so that she can come down. All claps and Aman and friends hoots. Avneil blushes and goes to their place.

Avni looks at Neil and she feels butterflies in her stomach till she does not say anything to Neil.

Avni whispers in Neil's ear: Gorilla, don't take my words seriously that was just for saying. Nothing was true.

Neil looks at her. Avni shows him the attitude.

Neil: well same goes for you.

Avni narrows her eyes. Neil shows her the attitude. They smile.

Avni and Neil were standing there and suddenly Avni's expression had changed she keeps the hand at her back and was shocked. Neil looks at her and frowns.

Avni: Neil, can you call, Bhabhi or mamma?

Neil: why?

Avni hesitates to say. Neil noticed that she is standing by keeping the hand at her back. Neil looks at her back and is shocked to see one hook is open. Neil looks at Avni.

Neil: ab.

Neil looked around but did not find any family members.

Neil: come with me.

Avni: Neil... my...

Neil: don't worry, I cover you and you walk behind me.

Avni nods and they go to the random room. Neil closed the door and did not turn his face to Avni.

Neil: ab you set it. I am standing here.

Avni tried to hook up the dress but no use in fact the second one opened. Avni was shocked.

Avni: please call, Bhabhi.

Neil: why?

Avni: it is not locking.

Neil: ab all went to see the arrangements of the catering even if I call them they will make excuses.

Avni: then what do I do now?

Neil: can I help you?

Avni was shocked. Neil waited for her reply. Avni thinks.

Neil removes his coat and comes while looking down and here and there. Avni was also feeling awkward. Neil covers her with the coat and Avni looks at him. Neil goes behind her and hook up the blouse. Avni closes her eyes and her lips were trembling.

Avni opened her eyes and sets her hair to avoid awkwardness. Neil turns his face so she can set her dress. Avni clears her throat and passes the coat to Neil. It was quite embarrassing for her because the first time she was stuck in that condition. Neil turns and comes to her. He saw she is looking here and there to avoid him. Avni sets her hair, Neil turns her to him by holding her arm and Avni was looking down. Neil moves a step to her and cups her face.

Neil: you don't need to feel embarrassed. I am your husband.

Avni looks at him.

Neil: I will never let you get embarrassed in front of anyone not even in front of me. I know my limits, Avni and I will never cross my limits.

Avni was looking at him and was overwhelmed. Their eyes were locked. Avni flows in emotions and hugs Neil. Neil was surprised by that sudden hug it was completely unexpected. Avni got emotional because she knew that if Neil was not there and if he did not help her and took her from there then it could be more embarrassing for her. Avni was also emotional because of Neil's care. Neil smiled and hugs her.

Neil: Hey, it's ok nothing bad had happened.

Avni: whatever I said on the stage I really mean that. All words came from my heart.

Neil smiles.

Neil: I know.

Neil saw a new side of Avni and got to know that there are still many things to know about her

Neil: even my words were true I truly believe that what I said.

Avni closes her eyes and feels peace in Neil's arm she was not understanding why she is feeling like that. Avni tightens the grip. Neil let her stand like this because he understands her condition. They heard Kareena and Aman were talking about them.

Aman: where do they go?

Avni opens her eyes and realised that she is hugging Neil. Avni breaks the hug and Neil also frees her. Avni looks away.

Neil: you ok?

Avni nods.

Neil: ok so can we move?

Avni nods by looking down. Avni passes by Neil but Neil holds her wrist and Avni was shocked. Neil turns to her.

Neil: I want my lady don Avni back. I am habitual of that Avni.

Avni blushes. Neil leaves her hand and moves to the door he opens the door and sets his coat and closes the button. Aman and Kareena come there.

Aman: you are here and we were finding you in the whole house.

Avni comes to them.

Kareena: Bro, so desperate, hmm. You can't even wait for the guests to go.

Avni gets uncomfortable.

Neil: Kareenaaa.

Kareena: ok, sorry.

Aman: we are going, come fast.

Aman and Kareena smile and go. Avni and Neil look at each other and Avni look away. Neil smiles and shook his head.

Avneil comes to the party where Ali comes to Avni. Neil was looking at him.

Ali: where were you?

Avni: had some work.

Ali: oh, I was finding you.

Avni: why?

Ali: I have to go so thought to meet you before going else you will smash my head.

Avni smiles and Neil looks away. Ali hugs Avni and Neil was burning in jealousy.

Ali: bye.

They breaks the hug and Avni said bye to Ali.

Ali: bye, Neil.

Neil: bye.

Ali goes.

Then the party was over and Neil was standing in his room and waiting for Avni who went to change her dress she took much time. Finally, after fifteen minutes she came back and was wearing a nighty.

Neil: you ok?

Avni: yaa that hook was not opening.

Neil: oh, I pressed that so that it will not open again I guess I pressed that hard.

Avni: Neil, than...

Neil interrupts her.

Neil: Avni, we are friends so no need of thanking me and did you forget what you said in the evening.

Avni smiles.

Avni: No, I remember that but it was a different thing.

Neil: it was my duty as a husband.

Avni looks at him. Neil smiled and Avni was lost in him.
