PROGRESS/EN DEVELOPMENT REPORTS

PROGRESS REPORT #1 20/7/2018: Currently (and for a very long time) I've been working on character development. I won't be telling you who these characters are, but I am happy to see that at least one of these characters is now 100% three-dimensional, lovable, and complete. The unfortunate thing is that she won't be revealed yet for a very long time... :(

That's why I take so long to work on EN. Whenever a writer has writer's block, he/she tends to jot down something random and sometimes even story-irrelevant just so he/she can get work done. What I do is work on other EN books, and spark ideas from each chapter. I could make one thing happen in this book, and question, "What stupid shipt should Stephen, Lisa, Jake, Lindsay, and/or Katherine do in order for this to happen?" Although this technique is slow, it's at least productive, and allows for greater quality work. Even if I know I can go back and edit certain published parts, those lines with random writer's block input will be seen by everyone while it's there. Sometimes, people get ideas from the things they scribble down, but at least I'm also getting the other books finished.

Heck, I'm almost finished with two books that'll come nowhere within the next year. Even if I'm not publishing those soon, I will be publishing those one day. And, I assure it won't be a scenario like now, because by the time I can publish those books, they'll be finished, 100%. Which means I can work on other books, read meme books, finally finish my homework due weeks ago, etc.

PROGRESS REPORT #2 27/7/2018: I'm working on a character who's been foreshadowed about for the last 2 EN chapters — yes, the red-eyed girl, C. For such a mysterious character, we need backstory, depth, and personality so that she's not that cliché type of mysterious girl.

PROGRESS REPORT #3 4/8/2018: Dear Annonymous Legion, my phone battery has gone completely kaput. Did you know that phone batteries can only be charged a certain number of times before they stop charging and you have to buy another battery? That happened, and I am currently logged in using a Mac.

If you're wondering why I can't just buy a new one now, that's because my dad, a.k.a. the best (and only) cellphone repair technician in the family left just about 8-10 hours ago to work in Cebu, Philippines. He's not leaving permanently, but he will stay there for about a week. Until then, I can't do much progress on any of my books at all, so I'll have to type in whatever I can right now before my mum calls me for dinner.

I can't even text my dad, since it's 3:40 right now in the UK, but I'm pretty sure the Philippines is GMT+8, so it would be 11:40 p.m. in Cebu, and my dad should be sleeping.

I might be able to buy one tomorrow Sunday, but there aren't too many cellphone stores close to where I am, and even so, they might not have the battery model I need.

As for progress... Well, it should be good this week, because although I may not have Wattpad for now, I do have a shipload of notebooks I can list my ideas in, and I also won't be spending hours looking at a screen thinking of ideas due to writer's block. C is also someone I'll be putting effort into this week.

PROGRESS REPORT #4: My phone battery has been replaced, now I'm writing everything I thought of last week.

PROGRESS REPORT #5: It's hard to write when school's soon, but it's also inspiration for future SportsFest books ;)
