Adrien's Point of View

I opened the door to the classroom, my hair aloft and my bag starting to fall off of my shoulders. As I entered the class, I heard girls murmur and whisper to their friends their gazes glued to my face.

"SORRY I'M LATE MISS!" I breathed out, still trying to catch my breath from running all of the way here.

I was hoping that I wouldn't run into Natalie and the Gorilla, but bad luck always seems to follow me.

They found me at the school gates, just as I was entering the school grounds.

So close. I remembered thinking.

I ended up persuading them to let me go, even just for today. I've always wanted to go to school; to have friends. I'm always stuck in my room or in the Agreste Mansion with my recluse of a father.

Natalie, my fathers assistant, is basically my parent; always seeing if I was okay and tutoring me at home. The Gorilla, well, he's a whole other story. He doesn't talk and is big and muscly; like a Gorilla, so that's what I call him. I don't even know what his real name is.

As I was trying to persuade Natalie and the Gorilla, I saw an elderly man at the corner of my eye, reaching for his wooden stick so he could pull himself up. I rushed over to him and helped him up, placing his walking stick in his hand. He smiled a "thank you", and I smiled a "you're welcome" back.

They ended up letting me go to school and I smiled in victory and ran all the way to class, knowing that I was going to be late.

The teacher smiled, "It's okay." she said to my previous statement, "Your new here, aren't you?"
I nodded, still trying to catch my breath.
"What's your name?"
I grimaced slightly. Everyone would know who I am. "Adrien." I paused, wondering if I should state my last name, "Adrien Agreste."

The class erupted into loud whispers and excited squeals.

Maybe it was a bad idea to come to school.

The teacher, who introduced herself as Miss. Bustier, told me to sit next to a olive skinned boy in the first row, closest to the door.

I soon found out that his name was Nino and that he wanted to be a DJ. He wore a bright red cap and blue shirt, his thick framed glasses going with his laid-back look.

As I was talking to Nino, I felt eyes staring at the back of my head, but I was used to it.

Miss. Bustier interrupted our conversation when she addressed the class, "Those of you who have P.E. Mr. D'Argencourt is expecting you at the stadium. The rest of you can head over to the library."

"Kim!" A loud voice yelled behind me. I straightened up in my seat.

"Ivan, what is going on?" Miss. Bustier asked, her attention on a boy at the back of the class, who looked as if he wanted to crush something.

Most likely the athletic boy's head, as the boy, Ivan, was glaring at him.

"It's Kim! I'm so gonna get..." Ivan was interrupted by the teacher.

"Ivan, go to the principal's office." she demanded, her index finger pointed towards the door, the direction in which she wanted the boy to go.
Ivan growled, and scrunched a piece of paper up in his hand.

The door slammed behind him with a bang!

A few minutes later a loud bang sounded throughout the school.

"Did you hear that?" someone at the back of the class asked.

"KIMMM!!!" A loud growling voice accompanied loud noises which made everyone jump in fright, including me.

A tower of rocks shaped in a human like figure stomped around the school. It jumped over the school's gates. It's eyes glowed green.

"What's going on? He had Ivan's voice?" a blue haired girl behind me asked. Her bright blue eyes were filled with worry.

"It's as if he's been transformed into a real-life supervillain!" The auburn haired girl next to her exclaimed.

Supervillain? First day at school and there is already drama.

As I arrived home I knew I was going to be in trouble by my father, the fashion designer who seems to only talk to his son when he disproves of something.

"You are NOT going to school. I already told you." he shouted.

"But father!" I whined.

"Everything you need is right here where I can keep an eye on you. I will not have you outside in that dangerous world."

"It's not dangerous, father. It's actually really cool. It's new. I'm always stuck in here by myself. Why can't I go and make friends just like everybody else?"

"Because you are not like everyone else!" He exclaimed, "You are my son!" He walked away signalling that that was the end of the conversation.

I raced up to my room.

He never gets me.

He's always keeping me in this large place with nothing to do, no one to see, no one to talk with but Natalie and even then it gets boring.

I want to talk to someone my age, like Nino. Talking with him this morning was cool, it was a lot better than being cooped up in this giant place.

My eye catches on the sight of a small box on my glass coffee table in front of my couch. "What's this doing here?" I asked to no one in particular.

I open the box and a green glow shines out blinding me, I throw the box, the lid still open, on to the coffee table. Once the glow is gone, a black cat-like creature appears. "Oh, cool! You're like the genie in the lamp!"

"Big deal!" the creature's voice was full of boredom, "I'm much more personable. I'm Plagg. Nice to meet you." he paused, "Do you have any cheese?"

"Are you hungry?" I asked.

He nodded. But then suddenly got distracted by a glass vase my mother put on my bookshelf. "No, don't touch that!" I was about to topple over the edge but I caught it just in time.

"Ooh, superhero reflexes are already working." Plagg mused. He then found a coin.

Superhero?

"Ooh, so shiny! Can you eat this?" he bit into the metal, "No, you can't." Seeing as the coin was worthless to him now, he dropped it onto the floor and went onto the next thing.

I grabbed the creature, Plagg, in my hands, stopping him from moving around and destroying everything. "I still don't know what you're doing here."

"Look, I'm a Kwami. I grant powers. Yours is the power of destruction, got it?" I nodded.

No wonder why you destroy everything.

"Good. Now, what about that cheese? I'm starving..."

This all seemed to surreal, like it was a dream.

Or a prank.

"My dad's pranking me, isn't he?" I asked, "Wait, he couldn't be. He has no sense of humor."

"Your father must never know that I exist! Or anyone for that matter."

"Why?"

"It's a rule. The only rule."

"Ugh. More rules." I've already got enough from my father.

"It's the only rule." He repeated.

"Okay."

"Put on that ring." Plagg said, gesturing to the silver ring in the hexagonal box. "You have to help your superhero partner in fighting against Stone Heart."

"Stone Heart? Is that the rock person?" I asked, sliding the ring on to my right hand.

Plagg nodded.

"But I'm stuck here. I'm not even allowed to go to school! I'm a superhero imprisoned in his own house!"

"That's no good." Plagg's face was contorted, "Well, then that's all going to change! That's if you are willing to transform."

"Transform?" I asked, "Into what?"

"A superhero you dumbo!"

"Then how do I transform?"

"You say, 'Claws out!'"

"Got it. Okay. Plagg, claws out!"

Plagg's face was worried when he said, "Wait! I haven't finished explaining!" Plagg got sucked into the ring on my hand and I immediately transformed. Clad in all black, I looked like a creature of the night.

"Too cool!"

I opened the window and jumped out. Seems like my life is finally turning around.
