Chara." Someone shakes me.

"Azzy?" I mumble.

"Nope. It's me, Frisk. C'mon. Wake up it's time to open presents."

"But I'm so tired...." I say drowsily.

He sighs and quiets, thinking. "I've got an idea..."

I fall back to sleep.

"Chara. Psst. Wake up."

"Ugh." I force my eyes open and look at the scene before me.

It's....everyone? Everyone surrounds me and beams at me.....I'm on the couch in the living room and everyone starts smiling and laughing. "Merry Christmas!!!"

I try to sit up but Asriel forces me back down.....I didn't even notice he was there sitting on the couch next to me.

"No. You need rest. But there's no reason you can't rest with the rest of your family!" He says, smiling.

Heheheh.....that's such a Azzy thing to say.....god I love my brother so much. I smile at him. "Thanks."

"No problem." He responds as presents start to be passed out. Frisk helps them stack a bunch of them at the foot of the couch.

"As much as I appreciate the sentiment guys...." I say with a chuckle. "I highly doubt I'll be able to stay awake for much longer."

"THAT IS ALRIGHT HUMAN! TAKE AS MUCH REST AS YOU NEED!"

"yep. sleep is awesome."

"SANS YOU LAZYBONES...."

"That is okay my child. You need your rest so you can get better, we just thought you'd sleep better if you were surrounded by us...."

"Your family." Frisk says with a grin.

I smile back at him, feeling ridiculously lucky and happy to have them all around me. That warm and loved feeling follows me as I fall asleep.....

My dream.....is just....woah. Like, what the fuck subconscious?

It's the beginning of Spring, so the snow is melting and the sky is overcast but bits and pieces of green grass are trying to poke through.  I'm in a school yard.....it's an elementary school.....the only thing that tells me that is the playground equipment.

My breath hitches when I take in the rest of my surroundings.

Dust and Blood everywhere.....there are even a couple of dead bodies. 

"What the fuck... this has never happened-" I'm cut off with a shriek as the dream yanks me backwards.

I see flickers of images....Sans standing over me with Gaster Blasters and bones. His eyes glow and my SOUL is blue. I beg him that it wasn't me and then he fires. And I don't die. I teleport out of the way. WHAT?!?!

Then I'm in the backyard hiding....

Then suddenly back to the school yard. There are Monsters and Humans fighting everywhere...I'm on the fringe of it now, near the trees. I see myself pick up a little kid- they look injured- and walk directly into it. The scene glitches and suddenly I've shoved the kid on a...Bone Pallet?...they go shooting up in the air with a shriek, out of the way as both Monsters and Humans attack me. I scream in fury and everything goes a blinding white.... almost as if one of Asriel's Shocker Breakers had hit.

Even more images flicker forward....me fighting....holy shit.... I watch as bones, stars and knives surround me as I snarl....

But I can't do magic. Right?

I see myself lose the kid and freak out...I finally reach the school....only to be face to face to Sans.... and then I get pistol whipped.... And everything goes black as Frisk catches me when I fall.

I gasp awake.

It's dark inside. It looks like everyone went to bed....except Sans and Frisk. Looks like they were in the middle of a serious conversation before I woke up. Now they stare at me in confusion.

"Chara?" Frisk asks as I sit up. "You okay?"

"Yeah. I'm fine." I say.

"you sure kid? you look like you're crying." 

I touch my cheeks, surprised to find tears there.

"You're crying?" Frisk sits next to me and takes a tissue out of his pocket. He starts wiping away my tears.

"Uh...." Thankfully it's dark enough that he can't see my blush. "What are you doing?" I ask, confused. 

He hugs me closely and I let him. Sans has a look of understanding on his face that I can barely see. I'm Just plain confused.....

He feels my forehead. I'm still burning up. "You should go back to sleep." Frisk says.

"I don't want to." I say. I'm kinda scared to.....
