"Wait, you're leaving me!?" Frisk panics when Toriel tells him she'll be leaving for a while.

She smiles, "do not fret my child, I will give you a phone, so you can contact me. Just stay put, and you will be fine."

"O-okay."

She leaves and we wait 5 minuites.

Frisk's phone rings.

"Hello! This is Toriel! My errands are taking longer than I thought they would. You must wait five more minutes."

"Okay..." Frisk says.

Thank you for being patient."

"Your welcome." He says politely.

We wait five more minutes. I start poking around the room,  because I'm bored. I always keep Frisk in sight, but I'm starting to get restless. Frisk sits on the ground with his head propped on his hands, looking around, interested.

"Hey, Frisk?" I say.

"Maybe we should just walk to her house....."

"No way! I'm not taking the chance!"

"Alright...." I say doubtfully, "Just a suggestion...."

Toriel calls again.

"Hello! This is Toriel. I found what I was looking for. But before I could take it... a small white puppy snatched it away."

"A small puppy...?" Frisk sounds confused.

"Yes, how odd." She says, sounding equally as puzzled.

"Yeah, that's weird," I agree.

"Do dogs even like flour?" She asks quizzically.

My ears perk up, "Flour....?"

"Errr, that is an unrelated question, of course. It will take a little longer. Please understand."

"Okay." Frisk says, not sounding upset at all.

Uuuugh this kid's patience annoys me.

five more minutes later.....

"Bored buh bored," I sigh, with my feet propped up against the column in a way so that I 'm lying on the ground, looking at Frisk upsidedown.

Frisk's phone rings again, and I sit up.

There's silence for a moment, then....heavy panting on the other end of phone....? Then there's barking. Distantly we can hear Toriel, "Stop, please! Come back here with my cellphone!"

Me and frisk are at loss for words.

"Uh.....Frisk?"

"Yeah, Chara?"

"I don't think she's coming back."

"I'm still staying here, Chara! Deal with it!"

"Uuuugh, fine."

five minutes later....

I stop doing stupid tricks in the air to amuse me and Frisk when the phone rings. (being a ghost does have some benefits; one of which is being able to fly. I walk most of the time though. It seems to make fallen humans more at ease with my presence.)

Me and Frisk stare at the phone as we listen to the snoring coming from it. Toriel can be heard distantly...."Helloooo? Little puppy...? Where are you? I will give you a nice pat on the head!"

The snoring stops suddenly, and Toriel continues, "If you return my cellphone."

The snoring resumes.

"Mom.....you have got to be kidding me." I say with a sigh.

Another phone call five minutes later....

The dog is still snoring. Then it sneezes.

"Here pup-pup-puppy! Oh dear, I should not keep my guest waiting any longer....Oh no, how long has it been since I have talked to them...? Perhaps they have been calling the phone and....? Here, puppy!"

"Maybe you should call her?" I suggest, "then she'll hear the phone, and she'll be able to get it back from the dog."

Frisk nods, "yeah, that seems like a good idea."

He calls her. The phone isn't picked up. It doesn't even ring....?

"Somewhere, the signal's deflected by a dog." I facepalm and sigh.

Another five minutes, another phone call.

We listen to more dog noises. Toriel sounds tired in the background as she says, "Doggie....Here, doggie....Oh dear. I do wonder how they are..."

Frisk looks at the phone. "She's not coming back, is she?"

"Probably not." I say nonchalantly.

"Yeah, let's get moving." Frisk finally agrees.

"YAY!" I celebrate ecstatically, "OFF ON AN ADVENTURE WE GO!"  I do a comical somersault in the air.

Frisk laughs a little, but he still looks worried.

"Hey, don't worry," I tell him. I'm still floating a little off the ground. "I'll take care of you. You'll be fine..."

"I hope so." Frisk responds with a sigh, and then trudges onward.

After we move to the next room, Frisk's phone rings again. We both blinks in surprise as Toriel tells Frisk that she got her phone back.

"Do you think we should go back then...?" He asks me after he hangs up.

I look at him, "do you want to spend another hour in the one room?"

That seems to decide it for him. We keep walking.

"Hey, look, a Froggit." I point at a froggit standing outside the entrance to the room. Frisk immediately tries to hide behind me. "Frisk I'm a ghost, idiot."

"Oh, right." He says. "Oops."

I roll my eyes.

"So.. uh.. what's it doing. It's just standing there?" Frisk asks, confused.

"Maybe it wants to talk." I suggest. "Why don't you do that?"

"Do what?"

"Talk to it, of course!" I say, looking exasperated, "What else would I mean?"

Frisk approaches it warily, "Hello," He says politely.

The Froggit starts to talk, "Ribbit, Ribbit."

Frisk looks at the Froggit uncomprehendingly.

"Oh!" I realize, "you can't understand, can you?"

"What, you can-?"

I nod and clear my throat.

"Excuse me human. I have some advice for you about battling monsters. If you *ACT a certain way, or *FIGHT until you almost defeat them...they might not want to battle you anymore. If a monster does not want to fight you, please... use some *MERCY, human."

"I will." He tells the Froggit. It doesn't understand what he says, but is reassured anyways.

We keep walking.

Out of the corner of my eye, I see another Froggit start to approach Frisk, but don't say anything until it hops in front of us. Frisk let's out a startled shriek.

*Froggit hops close!

"Chara, what do I do!?" He shrinks away from the Froggit with a terrified expression on his face.

It looks so ridiculous that I can't help but laugh.

Frisk looks at me with a confused expression on his face, "What?"

"I'm sorry, dude, but it's so funny watching you get so scared of that little thing." I gesture towards the Froggit. "Dude, it's like a third of your size. Not to mention that you're human. You'll be fine! If anything it should be scared of you, but it isn't. It's just curious."  I look at frisk with a relaxed expression. "Just *Act. It'll be fine."

He looks at me curiously, "Chara, exactly how long have you been down here...?"

I just give him that stubborn look. "*Act, smart one."

"Fine." He sighs, "Options?"

*Check          *Compliment
*Threaten

"hmm....okay, so I've already done *Check, and that didn't really do anything....so how about *Compliment?

Frisk says to the Froggit with a kind smile, "You look very nice today."

"Froggit didn't understand what you said, but was flattered anyways." I announce.

The Froggit blushes and lets loose a couple of magic attacks.

"Wait what!?" Frisk squeaks, "But I was nice to you! Why are you attacking me?!" He dodges all the attacks except one. It scrapes him and he loses two HP. "OW!"

"Froggit seems reluctant to fight you." I inform Frisk.

"Wait, What? But they did attack me!"

"Yeah but now they aren't."

"Oh....okay, so what do I do now....?"

"Now you *Spare them, because they are kinda' *Sparing you." I say patently.

"Oh....So, I *Spare you Froggit?" Frisk says uncertainly, as if he's not sure if this is what he's supposed to do.

"*You won! You earned 0 xp and 2 gold." I say as the Froggit hops away, still blushing, leaving behind two gold pieces.

"What do you mean- Hey, you forgot something!" He shouts after the Froggit.

"No they didn't." I tell him, "That's for you. That's like his way of saying 'sorry for attacking you.'"

As Frisk picks up the coins I say, "Just think of it as financial compensation."

"Oh....but it makes me feel kind of bad...taking their....what is this, money?" He says looking guilty.

"Yeah, and I bet they felt bad for hurting you." I point out.

"Hmm...true, I guess." He walks into the pile of leaves. He stays there for a bit, looking strange.

"*Playfully crinkling through the leaves fills you with determination. (HP fully restored)." I say.

When I look closer I see a strange outline of something yellow and star looking.

huh? What the heck....?

I don't question it though.

We keep going, with me guiding Frisk through the various monster encounters he has.

*Whimsum approached meekly!

"Alright..." Frisk stands there with his SOUL softly glowing. "Options?"

"*Check  *Console
*Terrorize," I list off.

"Um....How about *Check."

"*WHIMSUM -  ATK  5   DEF  0
*This monster is too sensitive to fight..."

Whimsum squeaks, "I'm sorry..."

"Whoa!" Frisk's eyes widen as....something revolves around him. He braces himself for an attack....but there is none.

He looks confused.....what?

" *Check  *Console
*Terrorize. " I respond patently.

"*Console." Frisk says decisively. "Hel-"

Frisk doesn't even finish his first word before Whimsum bursts into tears and runs away.

"*You won!
*You earned 0 XP and 0 gold."

"Wait! I'm sorry...!" He calls after the Whimsum. He seems very upset.

"Hey, It's okay...." I tell him. "Maybe next time you should just *SPARE them instead...."

"Next time?"

"Yeah. Next time." I tell him. "C'mon, let's keep going."

As we walk through the Ruins, Frisk's phone rings again.  He picks up.

"Hello? This is Toriel. For no reason in particular....Which do you prefer? Cinnamon or Butterscotch?"

"Huh?" Frisk asks, seeming confused...

"Well?" I ask him while looking at him expectantly. "*Cinnamon   *Bscotch."

"*Butterscotch." He says.

"Oh, I see. Thank you very much!"

She hangs up.

"That was weird," Frisk says. We keep walking and the phone rings again.

"Hello? This is Toriel. You do not dislike cinnamon, do you? I know what your preference is, but... Would you turn up your nose if you found it on your plate?"

"Of course not." Frisk says, "I like them both..."

"Right, right, I understand. Thank you for being patient, by the way."

She hangs up.

***

"Three out of the four rocks recommend you push them." Frisk reads off the wall. He turns around and looks at the rocks. "So does that mean..."

He walk over to the rock and pushes it. The spikes vanish.

*Whimsum approached meekly!

"*SPARE." Frisk says.

"*You won!
You earned 0 XP and 0 gold."

"Okay..." He says, seeming to be getting a hang of this.

At the next puzzle, Frisk falls a ton of times before I finally say, "Hold on..." I phase through the floor to look at the leaf patterns.

"Okay..." I tell him. "Move forward to the wall on the other side.....now turn and take two steps...." I guide him through the puzzle.

"Thanks, Chara." He says gratefully.

"It's no problem." I respond.

***

*Moldsmal blocked the way!

"*Check." Frisk chooses without even asking me of the  options.

I nod approvingly and say, " *Moldsmal -  ATK  6   DEF  0. Stereotypical: Curvaceously attractive, but no brains..."

"Huh?" He looks at me funny.

I just shrug.

Frisk dodges the magical attacks.

"Alright, options?" He asks afterwords.

"*Check   *Imitate
*Flirt."

He looks at me funny again at the last one. I raise my eyebrows at him. "What? A ghost can have her fun, yeah?"

He shakes his head with a small smile. "Imitate."

He lies on the floor with the Moldsmal.

"*You lie immobile with Moldsmal.
*You feel like you understand the world a little better."

Frisk dodges the attacks again and then says, "*SPARE."

"*You Won! You earned 0 XP and 1 gold."

***

"Whoa there, pardner! Who said you could push me around?" The rock says with a slight attitude.

I laugh at the stunned look on Frisk's face.

"Um, would you please move onto that spot?" Frisk asks politely.

"Hmm? So you're askin' me to move over? Okay, just for you pumpkin." The rock moves a foot over.

"Could you move a little more please...."

"Hmm? You want me to move some more? Alrighty, how's this?" He moves to the left. I start to laugh harder.

"Uh, that was the wrong direction."

"Hmm? That was the wrong direction? Okay, think I got it." He moves to the spot.

"Thank you."

Frisk goes to go across the spikes, but they pop up again. By now I'm on the ground wheezing.

He looks back to the rock looking like he's not sure whether to laugh or be exasperated. "Could you please stay  there."

"Hmm? You wanted me to stay there. You're giving me a real workout. " The rock moves back to the spot, and this time Frisk is able to get across the spikes without trouble.

I'm still laughing as I follow him.

"Chara it's not that funny...."

"The look on you're face. Freaking priceless haha!"

***

"*This ghost doesn't seem to have a sense of humor...."

"Oh I'm real funny," Nabstablook says directly to me, making me jump four feet in the air.

He  can hear me???!!!

***

"The far door is not an exit. It simply marks a rotation in perception...."

I explain the puzzle to Frisk after several failed attempts by him.

***

"Ribbit, ribbit."

"Just between you and me..." I translate, "I saw Toriel come out of here just a little while ago. She was carrying some groceries. I didn't ask what they were for.... We're all to intimidated to talk to her."

"Okay." Frisk says. We keep walking into a room....

"Woah." Frisk gasps in shock. "Is that a city?!"

"Yep." I say as Frisk looks closer.

"Hey, Frisk, It looks like there's a weapon here...."

"No way. I'm not fighting anyone....Besides, I got the ribbon..."

***This is going to be another two part chapter, guys***
