*Shivers*

The moment Frisk steps out of the Ruins, the temperature drops like 30 degrees.

He shivers. "Woah, it got really cold all of a sudden...."

"Well, yeah, of course it did. Look at all this snow!" I tell him.

He peers into the trees, "Are those....trees?"

I shrug, "Yeah, why?"

"Aren't we supposed to be underground?!"

"Trees can grow underground, nimrod. At least I think so." I frown thoughtfully.

"Hmm..." Frisk keeps walking, and I follow. I'm not sure when this changed, but suddenly I'm not leading the way anymore....meh. You don't see me complaining. At least this means he's more familiar with the way things work down here now.

He stops at a large stick in the path.

"*It's a tough looking branch. It's too heavy to pick up." I remark.

"So I guess they are trees, then." Frisk says with a shrug. He tries to step on it a couple times, but it doesn't break. "A very tough branch," Frisk says, sounding impressed.

We keep walking.

I the telltale squeaking that happens when someone steps on snow comes from behind us.

"Frisk, we're being followed!" I hiss at him, but he'd already stopped and is looking for who might've caused the noise. But there's no one there.

We converse in hushed whispers.

"We must've imagined it then." Frisk says uneasily.

"Not likely," I respond. "Look, footprints."

"Are you sure they aren't ours- er, mine?"

"Those aren't your prints Frisk." I tell him, "Unless your wearing...flats or something. Maybe slippers?"

"Yeah, no I'm wearing sneakers."

"Let's keep going. Maybe it's just some monster who's shy."

"Okay," he says back. We keep walking.

We'd just gotten decently far away from the stick when I heard a snap.

I turn around with growing dread. I look at the stick. It's been snapped clean in two,

I tell Frisk, my voice taut with fear, "It's been snapped like it was nothing...."

I look at him. "Walk faster," I suggest.

"Good idea." He starts to walk faster.

We hear the squeaking of snow again. Frisk goes to stop and look but I tell him, "Don't look back! Walk faster!"

He complies, until we're running. We stop at what looks like a barrier, but the bars are to big to keep anything out.

"Why'd you stop!!" I yell, flying in front of him. "Keep running, idiot!" I stop. Suddenly as I see and hear why he stopped. It sounds even closer than before and-

"Wait." I sigh with relief. We were all worked up over nothing."It's a skeleton." I tell Frisk.

"A what?" He asks, not understanding.

As the figure approaches, I inform Frisk, "It's okay, it's just Sans..."

"Who?" He's still frozen in fear, staring in the opposite direction from where Sans is.

"Hush, he's about to speak..."

"H u m a n." Sans says. His voice is deeper than I remember. Of course, if Frisk's time is right....then that means its been almost ten years since the last human fell, which is to be expected....Sans was only 15 then, so he's probably around 25 right now.

"D o n ' t y o u k n o w h o w t o g r e e t a n e w p a l? T u r n a r o u n d a n d s h a k e m y h a n d."

Frisk turns around slowly. He takes Sans hand....

Pffffft

Me and Frisk laugh as the sound of a whoopee cushion fills the air.

"Oh god, really, Sans?" I bury my face in my hands and giggle. "That's so cRUDE though! At least say 'excuse me'." I crack up again.

"Chara, please, stop this." Frisk says, shaking his head as if disappointed in me, but he's laughing.

A strange jazzy tune fills the air. I pretend to dance to it, making Frisk laugh some more. "Chara, you're so weird."

Sans looks at him strangely, but doesn't say anything about Frisk appearing to talk to himself.

"heheh... the old woopee cushion in the hand trick. It's always funny."

"Debatable," I pipe up, hovering over Frisk.

Frisk snorts.

Sans continues, ignoring Frisk's outbursts. "anyways, you're a human, right?"

Frisk nods, still smiling.

"that's hilarious."

"i'm sans. sans the skeleton. i'm actually supposed to be on watch for humans right now. but... y'know... i don't really care about capturing anybody."

"Well that's good news," I say.

"Yeah," Frisk murmurs quietly enough for only me to hear.

"now my brother, papyrus... he's a human-hunting fanatic."

"And that's not good news." I sigh.

"hey, actually, I think that's him over there."

"Wait, what?!" I say at the same time as Frisk.

"i have an idea. go through this gate thingy." Seeing Frisk's hesitation, he adds, "yeah, go on through. my bro made the bars too wide to stop anyone." They both walk though the gate with me hovering over their heads leisurely.

"quick behind that conveniently-shaped lamp." Sans says.

"What....' Frisk says. He walks over and hides behind the lamp.

I start laughing.

A taller skeleton power walks up.

"sup, bro?" Sans greets the skeleton.

"Oh, so that's his brother...." Frisk says. I shush him, "Shhhhh. You don't want him to hear you!"

I say this even though I know that Papyrus couldn't hurt a fly. He may be 20 now, but he can't be that different from his 10 year old self.

Sure enough, as soon as Papyrus opens his mouth, I know Frisk is safe with these two.

"YOU KNOW WHAT 'SUP,' BROTHER! IT'S BEEN EIGHT DAYS AND YOU STILL HAVEN'T.... RECALIBRATED. YOUR. PUZZLES!"

Frisk giggles behind the lamp.

"YOU JUST HANG AROUND OUTSIDE YOUR STATION! WHAT ARE YOU EVEN DOING?!?"

"staring at this lamp. it's really cool. do you wanna look?"

"NO! I DON'T HAVE TIME FOR THAT!! WHAT IF A HUMAN COMES THROUGH HERE!?! I WANT TO BE READY!" He starts stomping his feet.

Me and Frisk start giggling even louder. "Yep, still the same as he was when he was 10." I whisper to Frisk.

"I WILL BE THE ONE! I MUST BE THE ONE! I WILL CAPTURE A HUMAN! THEN, I, THE GREAT PAPYRUS... WILL GET ALL THE THINGS I UTTERLY DESERVE!"

"Wait, you know them?" Frisk asks me as Papyrus continues. ("RESPECT... RECOGNITION... I WILL FINALLY BE ABLE TO JOIN THE ROYAL GUARD".... etc.)

"Yeah, well I've never been able to talk to them, being dead and all, but yeah, I know 'em."

"Are they nice?" Frisk asks anxiously.

"Yep. Papyrus may act like a complete airhead, but he's not. Sans..." I tilt my head to the side thoughtfully. "He acts like a lazy joker."

"He acts like it." Frisk peeks around the lamp as Sans gestures to it. ("hmmm...maybe this lamp will help you.")

" One day you'll learn that no one is as shallow as they seem. Now shut up and look." I tell him.

"SANS!! YOU ARE NOT HELPING!! YOU LAZYBONES!!" Papyrus yells. "ALL YOU DO IS SIT AND BOONDOGGLE!"

"Don't you mean bonedoggle." I say with a giggle.

Frisk groans, "I swear, you're terrible!" He laughs.

"YOU GET LAZIER AND LAZIER EVERY DAY!!!"

"hey, take it easy. i've gotten a ton of work done today. A skele-ton."

Frisk groans again. "Oh my gosh..." He says I bury my face in my hands and giggle even louder.

"SANS!!!"

"come on. you're smiling."

"I AM AND I HATE IT!" He sighs. "WHY DOES SOMEONE AS GREAT AS ME...HAVE TO DO SO MUCH JUST TO GET SOME RECOGNITION...

"wow, sounds like you're really working yourself..."

I start laughing again and say the punchline at the same time as Sans, "down to the bone."

"CHARA!" Frisk whisper yells over my giggling.

"UGH!!! I WILL ATTEND TO MY PUZZLES... AS FOR YOUR WORK? PUT A LITTLE MORE BACKBONE INTO IT! NYEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEH!!"

"Well that was-" Frisk starts.

"HEH!" Papyrus adds before actually leaving.

I bust out laughing again and Frisk just shakes his head at me. "You have such a terrible sense of humor."

"Yeah, but it's great!" I say gleefully.

***Another two-parter, guys. Since I'm getting bored of the whole dream sequence thing, I think I'll just make every other chapter a memory chapter. By the way, let me know in the comments about what makes you laugh and stuff. That way, i'll know what kind of humor you guys enjoy, so i can include it more often.***
