Fly Away..

I sat nervously on the right side of the makeshift Throne. It had been hastily made out of palm leaves and some precious silk.

I couldn't wait until the Ceremony was over.

Afterwards, I planned on going flying with Sandy to get as far away from the celebration as possible.

Guilt made my once-bloody talons tingle; I felt uncomfortable around Gold ever since she'd killed Copper. It was a relief to be free off him but I was worried as to what Gold would make of me.

I scolded myself, "Don't feel guilty! You have every right to go flying whenever you want!"

Right?

I wouldn't get in trouble, I hoped.

I didn't like to think of it, but Gold's reign could very possibly be worse than Copper's. No Queen or King had risen to the throne by murdering the original one. At least not under the cover of darkness and acting.

Who knew what she was capable of?

"I now present, our new Queen Gold Eye!"

There was a stiff applause and thumping of tails as Gold walked along the aisle, adorned with so, so many pieces of jewellery. I caught some glares of distrust and suspicion being shot at her. Along with her other pieces of jewellery, she was presented a royal tail band and a gold necklace.

As she sat down on the Throne, the crowd erupted in applause again, this time more enthusiastically. I shifted from talon to talon, thumping my tail along with the crowd, not daring to meet Gold's eye.

I really, REALLY couldn't wait until the Ceremony was over.

Before I could find Sandy.

Before we could fly far away.

Before anything happened, Gold came up to me.

She snapped, "I need you, Aqua, to scout ahead. We will be moving tomorrow. I want to move us to Fishertown."

"Why?" I asked, surprised, "We are doing well here."

Gold explained, "There is a more plentiful supply of food there. Besides, we are running out of silk and other supplies."

She admitted, "Of course, if you must know, I have received word that the Wings Tribe will be stopping by for supplies as well. I want to meet up and discuss an alliance."

"Why?" I asked again.

Gold frowned, "Don't question me. Go on, take someone you know who will be able to endure the long flight."

I turned obediently, spreading my wings and flying off to Sandy who was drinking by the Oasis. Before I could get there, someone crashed into me.

Not again! Not again!
