Chapter 7: Foraged in Flames

Demier and Estrid were walking towards the shoreline of the frozen lake. The Godling of Vengeance had offered to the help the other with collecting herbs on this windy day. The sun was hidden behind clouds, and for a moment it had seemed like Sunna had been hiding for Njord's winds.

Njord...

Estrid flickered her ear. Her mother had told her about Njord. Her absent father who loved the sea more than his love for his family. Well, families really.

It felt weird, she knew she wasn't Njord's only daughter. Freya was too, the Queen of The Valkyries was her half-sister. There was more, but... she wasn't sure who. No one really knew how many wives Njord had.

Demeir's voice snapped the other out of her thoughts. "Is that the herb you were talking about?"

Estrid pulled herself from her thoughts, making her way towards where the other pointed. She crouched down to look, brushing the snow with a paw.

"Yep! A tiny bit of goldenseal is still here! Fresh and still thriving, even with all of this snow."

Demier smiled coming over, before letting out a small yowl of surprise he tripped over something in the snow.

"Hey! Watch where you're going ya fluffed up puffy idiot!"

Scrambling to his feet, he and Estrid turned, not seeing any one. A small hiss was heard, before they both looked down.

A very small cat looked up at them. His pelt was black with a snowy white muzzle, paws, chest, and underbelly.
Carefully crafted armor plated his figure, with gauntlets with sharp blades covering his paws.

"About time ya noticed me! Stupid Midgardians, thinking they're better with their longer legs. Fluffed up puffy idiots," he grumbled, before he waddled through the snow, off to wherever he was going.

The two Godlings looked towards one another in confusion. "Was... that a munchkin?" Demier muttered quietly.

The small tom stopped, before turning around at the flap of a bird's wing.

"MUNCHKIN!? Do I look like a Munchkin to you? I am a Dwarf! A Svartalfheim craftsmen! A Master of The Forage! I am Flint Ironwood!"

"Flint!"

The small group stopped, looking up as wingbeats were heard. Estrid smiled, waving her tail in a greetings.

"Kara, it's good to see you again!"

Flint looked up, before groaning. "Oh by Mjölnir's handle..."

The calico Valkyrie settled down in the snow, giving a small purr as she greeted the others. "Estrid, Demier, good to see you again. How are things?"

Estrid gave a small half heated chuckle. "We uh... it's been busy."

Kara's face grew with concern, before looking to the small tom beside her. "We'll talk about that in a moment. Flint, I don't think it'll be a good idea for you to be here right now."

Flint gave Kara an unamused looking sideeye, before rolling them. "Look, feathers for brains, I left Svartalfheim for a good reason. Where's that Valkyrie Queen you were telling me was oh so important to talk to?"

"Sigrun?" Demier asked, "Sigrun and Gunnr haven't returned from Neflhiem yet."

"Yet? What do you mean?" Kara asked quickly, her ears pushed forward. "It's been ages, they should have been back by now."

Demier shook his head. "Nope, nothing. Where were you off to?"

"Looking for me," Flint answered with a grumble.

Kara nodded. "Flint is a master craftsmen. His works were in Asgard's Treasury before it all fell. I went looking for him to help assist you all with special equipment."

Flint's ear twitched. "Wait... these are the Godlings you were talking about? I thought they were the ones in the mountains I meet up with on the way here."

Estrid and Demier looked toward Flint with round eyes. "You mean you saw Yrsa and the others? How are they? Did they say when they'll be back?" Estrid asked in a short breath.

Kara gently opened her wings in an attempt to bring silence. "You can ask all the questions later. For now, let's all go home. I'll try to explain everything."

A loud booming voice was heard announcing Fimbulwinter has arrived. A discussion chain will be place for everyone to discuss what this means and what to do.

A strange bright beam of light is coming from across the valley. Yrsa, Argent, and Valor have been chosen to go and investigate.

Kara is back in Camp with a Dwarf by the name of Flint. They both have settled in nicely. Flint said to give him a few days to set up his forage and he'll make special equipment for everyone!

Rota is visiting the camp! As a greeting, she has offered to help hunt and gather supplies with others. She will randomly join patrols from time to time to help.

There is now an Activity Chain!

The cold has eased up slightly. Hunting and Foraging will now be easier

Nix, Asbrand, Kiran, Svalinn and Bristle are hungry! (No effect)

Earthquake has reached level 1 of his PowerSkills!
