Gone.

You were gone.

His hands shook violently as he pressed his palms against the cold amber that encased you, your enchanting (e/c) eyes were closed, never to open again.

His fault. It was all his fault.

If he hadn't left you alone, then he could've stopped the compound, and you wouldn't have…..wouldn't have…

Tears poured down his cheeks, his bangs hanging down over his eyes, those light blue orbs darkened with sorrow.

He begged--pleaded--for you to come back. How could she do this to him? The princess...she could've helped…if she had, you wouldn't be…

His hands tensed into fists, his teeth gritting in rage.

Her fault…

It was her fault…

Varian woke up with a gasp, eyes wide and heart racing. His chest heaved as he breathed in and out quickly, air becoming harder and harder for him to grasp.

He tried to gulp down the fear creeping up his throat, but his mouth was as dry as a desert.

Recalling his dream, his eyes widened, and he leapt out of bed, rushing out the door and towards your house.

He didn't spare a second as he charged into your house, dashing up the stairs, and bursting into your room. His heart dropped to the floor.

You weren't there.

Once again finding it hard to breathe, Varian collapsed to the ground by your bed, tears rolling down his freckled cheeks.

"No. No, no, no, no!" He whimpered, clenching his gloved hands into fists, the fabric of your sheets getting caught in his vice grip.

"Varian?"

He gasped, eyes snapping open as he swiftly turned around with eyes the size of saucers.

You stood there, staring at him with those beautiful, (e/c) eyes of yours, concern written all over your face. Your eyes caught sight of his tear-stained cheeks and your heart ached to see him in such a state.

Suddenly, his arms were around you. It took you only a moment to register his actions, but once you did, you melted into his warm embrace.

"Varian….?" You murmured, concern growing when he only tightened his grip on you. He was silent for a while, but when he did finally speak, it broke your heart.

"Don't leave me."

You sighed gently, snuggling into his embrace. "Never, Varian."

A smile spread across the alchemist's face, and he pulled back slightly as he gazed into your eyes. "I love you, (Y/N)."

You smiled back, your heart leaping in your throat. "I love you too, my little alchemist."

Varian gave a boyish grin, before he leaned in and pressed his lips to your. You sighed softly into the kiss, her heart racing and your cheeks flushed. Varian gripped you tightly, his heart aching to pull you close.

You weren't sure what happened, but you were glad that Varian wasn't upset anymore.

However, now you had a slight feeling he was going to be a bit clingy for a while.

As Varian broke the kiss and snuggled into your neck, making you giggle gently, you smiled softly.

Yep, definitely clingy.
