This is is for @GoroAkechiPancakes and he wanted this to be a different than all the other one shots that I have written for him in the past. It was a lovely day outside as the young Goro Akechi looked outside the window of his and his daddy's apartment. He leaned against the ledge and sighed as he wanted to go outside but daddy had told him no.

"Daddy, why can't I go outside?" He asked from his spot at the window. Ace sighed as he dried his hands after draining the sink and walking over to him.

"I'm sorry buddy, it's just way too hot outside for a little boy to be playing. I don't wanna see you in the hospital. It'd make daddy sad. Do you wanna see daddy cry?" He asked the young boy as he got on his knees and wrapped his arms around the young boy. He turned to his daddy with a worried look on his face and jumped in his arms and wrapped his arms around his neck.

"No daddy! I don't wanna see you cry, especially if I did it." He whimpered out as he kept a tight grip on Ace. He rubbed his back to soothe the small boy as he stood up again as Akechi clung to his hand.

"Daddy! I'm still bored!" He whined and Ace laughed a little bit. He got down to the boy's level again and ruffled his hair.

"Why don't I make us some sundaes and put on a movie or two for us to watch since it's too hot for you to play outside." Ace offered to the young boy. He hoped he would like the deal enough because he didn't give ice cream often. He usually only gave it once in a while for a treat that was earned with good grades at school or good deeds that the boy did.

"Oh boy! Yes please daddy!" He said as he hugged his father once again. Ace laughed and stood up and headed to the kitchen to make them their sundaes.

"Hey kiddo, why don't you pick out some movies for us to watch while I make our treats." Ace said as he started to scoop the ice cream into bowls as he watched his son pick out some movies for them to watch.

"I got the movies daddy! I picked out Toy Story and Toy Story 2!" He said as he sat on the couch bouncing happily. Ace laughed to himself with how excited his son was. He couldn't be happier to have this little ball of energy in his life.

"Okay, I'm almost done baby. You know how to set up the tv, why don't you put the first movie in while I finish our sundaes." Ace offered as he put chocolate syrup, sprinkles, whipped cream, and some cherries on his own. Akechi nodded and put the first movie in and changed the channel on the tv while Ace walked over with their ice cream. 

"Thank you daddy!" Akechi said as he took a spoonful into his mouth. Ace laughed and smiled as he sat down next to him.

"Your welcome baby. I'll do anything to see you happy." Ace said as he pulled Akechi close to him and smiled softly.

"I love you baby boy, you have made me so happy." Ace said as he kissed the top of his head. Akechi looked up and smiled before reaching up and kissing his cheek.

"I love you too daddy. I always wanna see you smile!" Akechi said before turning his attention back to his ice cream and the movie.

Ace laughed softly as he kept the boy close to his side while watching the movie. He started to eat his own ice cream as he started to feel hot from doing some of the household chores. Akechi loved being with his daddy, he couldn't imagine his life without him. His life was better with his daddy in it.

"I'm glad I could spend this day with you daddy." Akechi said as he fell asleep against his daddy after finishing his ice cream and Ace held him closer and smiled.

"Me too baby." Ace had said before the memory faded to black with all that Akechi remembered from that day.

Akechi looked down at the photo of him and his father when he was a kid. He wanted to see his dad again but work had kept him away. He set the photo down on his desk he had been given for working with the police station.

"Where are you going Akechi?" Sae asked him as he packed his suitcase.

"I'm going home to see my dad for a few days, It's been years since I have last seen him since I started high school and working with you." Akechi said looked up at her and she smiled softly.

"Go. I don't need you for the next few days anyway." She said and he smiled before hugging her.

"Thank you. You have no idea what this means to me." He said before rushing out of his station dorm and to the train station. He caught the next train to the part of town his dad lived in. He walked up to the house and gave a shaky breath as he knocked on the door. He knew he could just enter but he didn't want to. He didn't feel welcome into the house anymore.

The door opened to reveal a tired looking Ace.

"Hello?" He asked before looking up to give a shocked expression. Akechi smiled as tears pricked his eyes.

"I'm home daddy." Akechi said before embracing his dad.

"I'm so glad to see you home Goro.." Ace said as tears started to fall as he embraced his son again for the first time in years.

"I love you dad. I'm not leaving anymore." Akechi said as he walked inside with his dad. Ace smiled and wiped his tears.

"Good, I don't want to see you leave again." Ace said as he hugged him again. It truly was a beautiful reunion.
