I Samuel 29:9

"Then Achish answered and said to David, 'I know that you are as good in my sight as an angel of God; nevertheless the princes of the Philistines have said, "He shall not go up with us to the battle".'"

(This could be interpreted as God's way of sending David back to the land where he belonged. He was rejected by the Philistine army, despite having done nothing to harm them, and even having helped them greatly the past year. However, paranoia overtook the Philistines, and so they sent David home.)
