I Kings 1:5

"Then Adonijah the son of Haggith exalted himself, saying, 'I will be king'; and he prepared for himself chariots and horseman, and fifty men to run before him."

(Adonijah got puffed up and impatient to wait for David's eventual death. So he pronounced himself as king and threw a party to celebrate.)
