LOVE, TO FEW, is often described as a fairytale. Something pure and everlasting, if not a little disastrous at times. For Ophelia Southerns and Tony Stark this was true.

From the moment they both met the pair had hit it off, finding they had more in common than they thought. After graduation and during the extravagant party that Tony threw in celebration, he got down on one knee and presented his love with a ring. Happy, though shocked that a man like Tony Stark would settle down so soon in life, Ophelia accepted. And from that day forward she knew there was nothing that could tear them apart.

Or so she thought, for every fairytale needs a villain, and theirs just happened to be in the form of a vengeful, bitter man the world knew as Ted Calloway, business rival to Stark Industries. The man was tired of always being second best to Tony Stark, so Calloway sold his soul to Hydra in exchange that they help him ruin Tony's life.

During a trip to Vienna where Ophelia planned to attend a business conference for technological advancements (and secretly try on her dream wedding gown) her flight crashed. After hearing what happened, Tony spared no expense in trying to find her. But the only things recovered from the crash site were scraps of metal and the love his life was later presumed dead. And from the sidelines, Ted Calloway watched as Tony became distant, too broken-hearted to show his face after what happened to the woman he loved, and finally, Calloway had ruined the man's life like he had always wanted.

But Ophelia Southerns was far from dead, and the world would soon learn the truth of what happened to her.

author's note: ugh. the way this plot own me 😩 like, tony and viper live in my heart. they're such a beautiful couple that is always being dealt a shitty hand in life and ugh. i just love them so much it hurts 🥺 now, the summary isn't too explanatory (on purpose) so i'm going to let you in on few things before we move forward. ted calloway (business rival to tony) "sold his soul" to hydra, wanting their help to ruin tony's life. so, hydra hijacked ophelia's flight, kidnapped her, and then faked her death by crashing the plane. ophelia is tortured by hydra, forced to kill, and brainwashed to believe that her name is viper. she doesn't remember her old life (yes that includes tony) and she eventually because a winter soldier for hydra, using the alias madame hydra on missions. ted calloway knows all of this and is basically smirking on the sidelines as he watches tony become a depressed and alcoholic hermit in the wake of his fiancé's death. then, the plot opens with her reunion with tony, which is set a little bit before age of ultron 🏍 also, another HUGE thank you to pseudonym-lux for accepting my request and creating this absolutely beautiful plot for me!! ilysm liz!! 🖤 if you guys ever need help with a marvel plot visit liz's plot shop. she has superior marvel brain 🧠 anyways, thank you for supporting this and happy reading!!
