These are my opinions on the Batfam because Cassie has gotten me hooked on them again and encouraged me. These are just the main ones, if you want my opinions on the others (why would you) I can do that.

BRUCE WAYNE/BATMAN;
The man, the myth, the legend. I can hate on this man for specific, child abuse things, he's done. But he's mostly a great guy. His backstory is an overused thing but it's still so, interesting. This rich kid loses his parents and decides to become a hero. He has his own morals but he'll still beat the shit out of a guy. I respect that he swore off guns because of what happened in his youth. He is also one of the best mentors, in specific things.

I don't like when shows or movies make him a heartless, mean, dark guy. Because he can be all those things but deep down he is still a kid who lost his parents and he wants to help other not have to grow up like he did. I like to imagine him as a hardass but will still give you a heart to heart if you need it. He adopts children for a reason, and it's not to abuse them.

I feel he is one of the most misunderstood. Because he has no powers yet he still leads most of the teams he's in. He's a natural leader, he has this natural aura of it. A natural leader won't snap suddenly for no reason unless something really bad happened.

But I won't ignore that he is dark, and emotionally closed off. When I say heart to hearts, I don't mean crying. I mean talking about insecurities, while he listens and tells you something to make you feel better with a straight face. Because he was a young hero once and he had no one. He wouldn't want someone else to feel like that.

One thing I think the Batman movie did well is show that Bruce didn't just naturally be a charming man again. He had to grow and learn that to get to peoples hearts is a smile. His parents died of course he would hide in his mansion. Until he can't help people because of it.

At his heart, Bruce wants to help.

DICK GRAYSON/NIGHTWING;
This is gonna be the longest one, because he is my favorite. Not because I have a crush on him, but because he is just a great hero, and the best robin.

I have my own reasoning for it. He is the best robin because he was the first, the others were good in their own way, but he was good at being the heart of robin. When the creators made him, he had everything they wanted in a robin, that's why he's the best. Not because of everyone's flaws, but he was meant to be robin because that's what he was made for.

He is also what Bruce could have been. Both of their parents died at a young age, but Dick had Bruce. He grew up with someone to help him. He has a heart, one that made him sob in the rain when he accidently let Catwoman kill someone. But he also has a limit and killed Joker when he taunted him about Jason's death, Batman later reviving him.

He grew up thinking he was going to be the next Batman, and he was in some comics. He was leader of the Teen Titans for a reason. He was raised to be a leader like Batman was, he is still impressive without powers. There are some comics that ruin him completely. He is the heart of his teams in my mind. He's a whore, I'll accept that. But I hate when they make him an asshole with Kori and Barbara because he just wouldn't do that.

He is a paternal guy, he basically helped Batman raise Damian. He is a sweetheart that is deadly. He's been through a lot, but making him too serious because it ruins him and Batman's dynamic. Because he is the opposite of Batman, yet the exact same. He needs to have a smile on his face or it ruins what he could be.

Dick chose to be a different hero, not just wait around until Dick handed it off. He is Nightwing because he is his own person, he's not Bruce because of Bruce. He's not Batman because his character is meant to be Batman. When he's Batman he's not Bruce's Batman, he's his own.

This may not all make sense, but his character is just so fantastic. That's why I love him. He is a cop because he wants to help day and night. He went to his own city because he finally didn't want to be in Bruce's shadow. The character development from dreaming to be Batman to leave so that people take him as his own superhero.

I just really love him.

JASON TODD/RED HOOD;
The most tragic robin. In my mind Jason wasn't the best robin. I love him, but he just wasn't a robin material. He was found stealing the wheels of the batmobile. He was raised on the streets, Dick was raised in a circus. Jason wasn't going to be as great as him.

That could have been his downfall, the shadow of the golden boy Richard Grayson. And it was. Not completely. I haven't fully read every version of his death, but it is so heartbreaking. Because he just wanted to help and lost his life. I feel like a part of him was trying to overshadow Dick in a way, by doing something he didn't. It just always breaks my heart that the reason he died was because of a poll. He died because he was a different robin and people didn't like that.

He was revived with this vengeance to not be like Batman, he killed and used guns. But he still had some of Batman inside of him. He was dark and brooding, just like Bruce. Him as a whole utterly breaks me. He got beaten by the Joker and died because Batman couldn't get to him. The man he idolized couldn't save him.

Jason is the best at being bad. At being the opposite of Bruce. He may have similar mannerisms and emotions but he still is fundamentally the opposite of Bruce. He uses guns as his main weapon and he kills people so freely.

He's one of those characters I don't understand fully but I still adore.

TIM DRAKE/RED ROBIN;
His will be the shortest cause I don't know that much about him. All I know really is that his parents are still alive and he's smart. Also that he is a slut. Dude, I read his wiki with a friend and he kisses like 5 chicks without dating any of them. He rejects like 3 of them.

Tim Drake reminds me of a kid who peaked in high school. This kid who grew up with loving parents because Robin and then like kept the name when he became another hero. I'm like 50% sure he's also still in Gotham.

I just read an article that said he was pissed that Dick saw him as an equal so he went to find Bruce, so he could be beneath Batman again. Who the fuck is this guy?

Anyone who loves Timmy boy give me some like trauma and reasons to like him and I'll do an actual thing on him.

Dude I don't like this guy.

DAMIAN WAYNE/ROBIN;
The only biological son, but also like the meanest. I love the idea of being raised with one philosophy and then having to live in a whole nother one. Damian is so fucking cold.

His first outing alone as robin he brings a dudes decapitated head back. We haven't seen a lot of Damian when he isn't robin so I can't really say much.

But he was raised by Batman's biggest villain and he was still able to see that Bruce was a much better man and did better things and he became robin to help people. But what I like most is he did it his own way. He isn't trying to be exactly like Bruce, he kills, he's trying to do it less but he's still a fucking badass.

This kid can take down a whole squad of people, and it's sick.

If you want me to do this with other shows, I'm happy to do so. I have a lot of opinions and I always do this when I'm sleep deprived.
