A/N - TW in this chapter, there will be a warning as well

I won't leave that easily.

A bolt of inspiration hit Spark.

No. Don't do that. Seriously.

You can't stop me. Besides, no one will miss me.

Spark! Don't do it! I will miss you.

I don't want you anyways.

Oh, come on, Spark. I've only made your life more interesting.

Interesting?! INTERESTING?! You call this interesting? Would you like me to recount my life story to you? Parents: dead. Brother: dead. Dusk chased after me for over six moons. My first love hated me. My best friend was killed. My second love and former mate was killed. One of my kits died. I have flashbacks of Dusk. And to top it all, Grief, guess what? I have you stuck inside me! I'm insane, say it. I dare you to.

You're insane.

Fine. I'll do it.

Spark, don't do it. It won't help. Trust me.

TRUST YOU? What is that supposed to mean? Because I definitely don't trust the cat who messed up my life!

Spark stormed out of the hole in the ground she had been using as a home for the past three days and to the river where she had left Wild Wind.

Spark, please don't. Don't do it!

I'm doing it just to annoy you at this point!

You risk everything if you do it. Please don't.

Spark ignored Grief and padded up to the water. Taking a deep breath, she let herself fall in.

Spark let out a strangled mew as her head dipped underneath the freezing water. Already, her paws were beginning to go numb. Her eyes struggled to stay open as her she sunk deeper.

Her breath already used up, she opened her mouth, letting the water rush in. Choking and spluttering, her head hit a rock at the bottom of the river.

SPARK! Go back up to the surface!

NO. No, Grief. I'm done listening to you. You've lied and lied and lied. I don't need to listen to you!

Spark's head bounced off the rock and hit it again. This time, it was enough to knock her unconscious.

Grief's POV

Grief sighed before gently lifting Spark's head up from the rock.

A warm feeling spread over Grief and she looked down at her gray fur to see a tinge of ginger spreading over it.

"Courage! Come out! I know you're here!" Grief called, her haunted blue eyes surveying the river.

The ginger tom padded out, his amber eyes meeting hers. "She can't die."

"I know that, you idiot!" Grief spat.

"I think you overdid it a little." Courage murmured.

He raised his tail and laid it on Spark's unmoving face. A warm ginger glow spread from Courage to Spark and the light yellow she-cat spluttered as she regained consciousness.

"Stop! I have to wake her!" Grief yowled.

"You can't! I am the only one who can!" Courage snarled back.

Enraged, Grief bit onto Courage's tail, forcing him to let go. Courage retaliated by swiping his paw at Grief's head, knocking her off. The two spirits fought, scratched, bit and yowled as they fought over Spark's body. None of them noticed Spark slowly drifting to the surface, watching with wide eyes.

Grief let out a battle yowl and a faint blue glow spread over her. Immediately, Courage's eyes dimmed, and gray spots appeared on his fur. Purring, Grief turned around to see Spark watching them fight, the yellow she-cat's eyes drooping as she struggled to fight the water, Courage's blessing still on her fur.

"Sorry, Courage." Grief murmured to the other spirit before throwing herself back into Spark.

Spark's POV

Spark woke up to see two cats fighting in the murky depths of the water. However, she realized they weren't quite cats. One of them was gray with blue eyes and the other was a ginger tom.

Is that Grief?

Spark searched inside her for any trace of the spirit that was constantly nagging her, but she couldn't find her. Joy flooded her.

I'm free.

Spark looked down at her body. A ginger glow surrounded her. Bravely, Spark swam out of the ginger glow and towards the surface. Below her, Grief let out a loud yowl and the ginger tom sort of faded. Then, Spark shuddered as Grief turned to face her. Haunted blue eyes met green eyes. Then, Grief's form blurred, and she became a gray ball radiating misery.

The ball shot into Spark's open mouth.

I'm back, little kit.

All Spark's bravery failed her, and she drifted deeper into the water, only to see the ginger tom bringing her to the surface and placing her onto the bank.

"I am the being of Courage," the tom mewed in a deep voice. "And you have my blessing."

Exhausted, Spark collapsed on the bank. Her last conscious though was Grief whispering to her.

You shall always have my blessing.

End of TW

Spark woke up to painfully find out that Grief was back.

Just when I thought I was rid of her...

I will stay with you forever.

Spark growled in anger. Leave! You've made my life a nightmare.

Correction. I didn't. Dusk did.

Spark hated it when Grief made logical comments like those. Dusk had made her life a nightmare. He had murdered her family, chased after her for two hundred and twelve days, and almost killed her. Without him, she would be living with her family, happy and safe.

Spark shook herself, letting her damp fur dry in the sun, wondering about her kits and Eclipse.

Will they be alright? Do I trust Eclipse?

As if her thought had summoned the black she-cat, Eclipse stepped out of a bush, a rabbit dangling from her jaws.

"Hello, Spark." Eclipse mewed gently. "Are you okay?" she added politely.

"I'm fine!" Spark protested weakly.

Eclipse nosed her fur only to recoil in shock. "You're soaking wet! Come back to the cave, please."

"I'm fine on the outside, Eclipse," Spark snapped before realizing she hadn't meant to say that.

"On the outside?" Eclipse sat down next to her. "Me too."

"What happened to you?" Spark mewed.

"My best friend left me." Eclipse sighed. "She left only a few days ago. That's why I was alone when I met you."

A best friend?

"Who?" Spark pressed.

Eclipse met her eyes before whispering the name that made Spark's nerves tingle and her brain freeze.

"Dawnmist."
