The solitary CloudClan is affected with an unknown disease (tuberculosis) and numbers quickly dwindle. Ashenflare and his brother, Rumblestar, are the new leader and deputy of the clan, and have to figure out what to do.

Surprisingly I wrote this before the pandemic.

The prologue has Ashen and his friend being named apprentices. The only important thing is Ashen's crush on his friend, Hawkwind, who becomes a medicine cat, therefore making a relationship between them illegal.

In chapter one, Ashenflare goes on a patrol and meets up with some barn cat friend of the clan. The barn cats recognize the symptoms as tuberculosis, and the clancats realize they did not isolate their dying leader.

In chapter two, Ashenflare quarentines the sick cats, has a moment where he crushes on Hawkwind, and we're introduced to his mother who is suffering from dementia.

So...yeah. I think the premise was fine. Another case of me not planning things and sufferingt the consequences.
