Burnpaw, now under the apprenticeship of Mintleg, was stalking mice. She stalked closer, and closer. Almost about to make the catch... "Burnpaw! You're near the Windclan border!" She heard Mintleg screech. He came bounding up to her "I almost make the catch!" She hissed. He rolled his eyes "Well Sorr-y." He flicked his tail near a beech tree. "Theres more over there, away from the Windclan borderline.  It will be leaf-fall soon so we better catch some prey." She turned to the tree and got a hint of mice, she started to stalk it. She now could see the mouse, nibbling at a beech nut, unaware of her. She pounced at it, and killed it with a swift bite.

 "Well done!" Mintleg praised her "But lets see you find some prey by yourself. I'll be waiting here if you need me." Burnpaw nodded. She ran off into the heart of Thunderclan territory. She lifted her muzzle to taste the air. Bird... She ran to the smell and saw a small but fat bird at war with a worm. She pressed her muzzle to the ground. Okay, if I could kill this, I'll be good... She stalked up to it, and pounced. The bird made an alarmed call, and fluttered into the air. It was to slow. "Got you!" She mewed, and killed it in a swift bite. "Thank you Starclan for this prey." She slid under the bushes with the bird in her jaws. "Here we are." She dropped it at Mintleg's feet. He nodded "Good catch, lets take this back to camp, shall we?"

 Once they made it back in camp, she dropped her kills in the fresh-kill pile "Do you think the elders will want this mouse?" She asked Mintleg. She saw two small kits run towreds her. They were the newest cats in the clan, born to Blackfall, she insisted to stay on warrior duties until she couldn't any longer. Burnpaw wanted to wail to herself reminding herself about her littermates. One of the kits looked at her and asked "Why do you look so sad?" Burnpaw swallowed the lump in her throat "I'm not sad, Shrewkit. Just-remembering" He looked at his littermate, Nestkit, she shrugged and they went off to play. "I feel your pain more than you think I do." Crowstar made her jump, "You know, I was your father."
