"Do we have to go?" Cedarpaw whined. "We already did some battle training. Do we have to hunt?" She looked up at Echostream, who was clearly annoyed.

"Yes, we said we would do it Cedarpaw," Echostream Replied simply. "You'll have a break tomorrow."

"Fine." They met up with Specklepaw, Hawktwist, and Brambleheart by the river.

"Hi Cedarpaw!" Brambleheart's golden pelt reflected the setting sun.

"Hi Brambleheart," She grunted.
"Someone's tired," he gave her a teasing look, his yellow eyes glittering.

"Yeah, I was just battle training." Cedarpaw mewed. "I'm terrible at it. It took me forever to perfect a new battle move."

"Nonsense!" Brambleheart cried pompously. Cedarpaw giggled. "But seriously though, I bet you're not that bad. Which move was it?"

"Umm, the one where you leap on the opponent's back." Cedarpaw Replied cautiously.

"Yeah that one." Brambleheart flicked his tail dismissively. "You're good. That one is really hard. Even Reedfang had trouble on it at first, and she's one of the best fighters in the Clan!"

"Aww, thanks-"

"Shut up you two," Hawktwist interrupted them. "Time to hunt. Cedarpaw, Echostream, and Brambleheart, you three will go towards the shaded part of the river. Specklepaw and I will take the sun side." He grinned. "Sorry if that sounded rude."

Cedarpaw followed her mentor to the shaded part of the river. "Remember Cedarpaw-"

"Make sure you don't make a lot of sound when catching the fish, I know."

Brambleheart chuckled under his breath and rubbed his tail on Cedarpaw's flank. "We should probably spread out a bit so we can get more fish."

Cedarpaw nodded. She trotted to a different part of the river. She lifted her paw slightly and narrowed her green eyes. She saw small ripples in the water and the silhouette of a fish. She unsheathed her claws and and stabbed her paw into the water. Cedarpaw felt the slimy skin and knew that she had caught it.

Cedarpaw quickly covered her catch with dirt and looked back into the river. Her reflection was deformed from the small waves. But, she could see something behind her. The shape of another cat was creeping up on her. A large white cat. Cedarpaw's nose was filled with the scent of crow-food.

Smart, rolling herself in rotten prey to disguise her scent. But she didn't think about showing her reflection.

Cedarpaw turned around and snarled. The cat behind her was from ShadowClan. The cat yelped in surprise, but quickly regained focus. Now that Cedarpaw saw her, she could smell other ShadowClan cats too.

"Echostream! Brambleheart!" Cedarpaw screamed before lunging at the she-cat. This cat was much larger then her, and Cedarpaw couldn't help but feel a tinge of excitement. What a coincidence that she had learned the perfect move this morning.

Cedarpaw leaped onto the cat's back and dig her claws into her thick, white fur. Her front paw lashed out and slashed the cat's neck. Not much damage, but enough to cause pain. The white-cat snarled and rolled over. Cedarpaw jumped off right on time and ran away.

Cedarpaw could see more cats fighting now. Hawktwist was taking on Gorsemist, the ShawdowClan deputy. Brambleheart was pinning down a grey tabby the same size as him. More and more of ShadowClan was coming onto RiverClan territory.

Cedarpaw found Echostream by the river, cornered by two apprentices. The brown she-cat sprinted over to them and knocked one over, giving Echostream a chance to escape.

"I'm going to get backup," Cedarpaw Said breathlessly. "We're outnumbered." Her mentor nodded and she took off.

Cedarpaw ran as fast as her legs could carry her. She had to get more cats that could actually help out, unlike herself who was terrible at fighting.

As soon as she knew that others could hear her, Cedarpaw belted: "SHADOWCLAN IS ATTACKING BY THE RIVER!" She continued to scream it until she saw her Clanmates running toward the battle.

Uggg, I'm the worst. I promised a chapter a month ago, and here it is. Anyways, hope you guys like it.
