Stars flecked the purple sky, shinning brightly. A full moon was cast above, not a single cloud to block out its silver glow. A gray and white she-cat padded behind her Clanmates.
Fawnstar had picked Snowleap, Oliveclaw, Addertuft, and Dapplesplash and her former apprentice for the Gathering. Sandheart, Firepool, Crookedwing and her former
apprentice, and Ambernight followed as well.
The gray and white she-cat remembered what Crystalflame had told her. It had been almost half a moon now, and the she-cat had worried about the prophecy every day. She also remembered her words about becoming a warrior after her friend. The she-cat glanced up at Ambernight who padded along beside her.
She smiled. She had been made a warrior the day before tonight, and she still had Ambernight as a friend. I won't lose him, she thought. He's different than Brackencatch.
The gray and white she-cat was cut out of her thoughts. They had reached the island. White blossoms of new-leaf speckled the trees around the clearing. Fawnstar leaped into the great oak, while Sandheart took his place among the roots. The she-cat saw Firepool stalking over to the brambles at the side of the clearing where the medicine cats sat.
The gray and white she-cat found her other friend, Pebblepaw, and sat next to him. Ambernight sat beside the she-cat. Before they could say anything to each other, the Gathering started.
Fawnstar stood first, her black and white ginger-tipped tail swishing. "Prey has been running well," the WindClan leader started. "We have two new warrior among us tonight. Puddlestone and Roseblossom."
Roseblossom felt warmth spread through her as the gathered cats called her and her brother's names. "Puddlestone! Roseblossom!"
Roseblossom felt Ambernight's tail rest on her shoudler. She heard Pebblepaw's shaky voice call her name loudly.
As the chanting around the clearing faded, Doestar stood next to represent ThunderClan. "We also have a new warrior in our Clan, and our medicine cat apprentice received his full name. Cinderibis and Echochase."
Roseblossom spotted a gray tom among the medicine cats, his hazel eyes shinning. She also saw Puddlestone sitting next to his friend Cinderibis, a black and white tom with blue eyes. Roseblossom quietly chanted their names.
       "Cinderibis! Echochase!"
Waterstar stood next, dark gray-flecked tail flicking. "We also bring good news from RiverClan. Irisstream will be having Sedgedawn's kits."
Yowls of congratulation erupted around the clearing, and once they died away, Rainstar stood up last.
The gray and white tom looked down at the gathered cats. "A warrior has also been made among ShadowClan. Pebblepaw has been made Pebblejump."
Roseblossom glanced across at her friend. Pebblejump shook nervously, green gaze anxious as every cat called out his name. He gazed at her, and she gave him in amused smile, which he returned, though more faintly. Roseblossom found herself calling out with a smile on her face and an amused tone in her voice.
       "Pebblejump! Pebblejump!"
The cats started to break apart afterwards, and Roseblossom's happiness faded. She spotted a gray tabby and white she-cat at the edge of the WindClan cats. Roseblossom had been wanting to ask Addertuft about the StarClan cats who were in her dream about two moons ago. Even though it had been so long ago, Roseblossom still remembered every word, but she hadn't seen Driftfrost or the cream she-cat since then.
She wanted to ask her mother who her friend had been and why she was named after her, but she couldn't find the strength to.
Roseblossom glanced up at the silver full moon. Its beauty shone down in silver light. She knew her ancestors were up among the stars watching over her. If you can hear me, help me find the strength.
