The sky was clear tonight, letting the full moon shone brightly above. There were no clouds to stop it's silver beauty. Fawnstar had chosen Sandheart, Firepool, Crookedwing, Dapplesplash, Brackencatch, and Ambernight for the Gathering. Rosepaw and Puddlepaw came too, and Oliveclaw was allowed to come, for her breathing had gotten better and she had returned to warrior duties.
Once the WindClan cats had crossed the tree-bridge, Rosepaw found herself standing alone. She spotted her mother Addertuft, sitting with a group of ThunderClan cats. She glanced around for another familiar face. She didn't like meeting new cats.
Brackencatch was sitting with Oliveclaw and a couple other young warriors from different Clans. Ambernight was sitting with Puddlepaw and some apprentices and young warriors. Another familiar pelt caught Rosepaw's eyes. Pebblepaw sat alone near the edge of the clearing. Rosepaw trotted over, waving her tail in greeting. She silently thanked Brackencatch for introducing them on her first Gathering.
"H-hi, Rosepaw," Pebblepaw's tail twitched anxiously. "How are you to-tonight?"
Rosepaw twitched her whiskers in amusement at the ShadowClan tom's nervousness. He was always like this, but he was nice to be around.
Rosepaw waved her tail. "I'm good."
"Wh-where's Brackenpaw?" Pebblepaw asked. Rosepaw pointed with her tail towards the spot where Brackencatch sat with fellow warriors.
"He's a warrior, Brackencatch, now," Rosepaw mumbled quietly.
        Pebblepaw's ears flicked. "O-oh. That's good news!"
Rosepaw nodded, though her belly twisted at the mention of her long lost friend. Rosepaw heard paw steps approaching, and turned to see Ambernight padding over. Puddlepaw, who had been sitting with the brown warrior, eyed his friend annoyedly
Ambernight's gaze was at his paws once he had reached Rosepaw and Pebblepaw. "Can I sit with you guys?"
Rosepaw nodded, and she saw Pebblepaw's tail shaking at the sight of the broad shouldered warrior.
Rosepaw fixed Pebblepaw with an amused gaze. "This is Ambernight," Rosepaw motioned her tail to the brown tom beside her.
"Ambernight," he looked up to meet her gaze when Rosepaw said his name. "This is Pebblepaw."
Ambernight nodded awkwardly at the meek gray apprentice. Before anyone could make conversation, Brackencatch had joined them.
He dipped his head formally to the cats. "Nice night tonight," the tabby tom stated. "Not a cloud in the sky."
Rosepaw felt Ambernight's fur brush against her's as Brackencatch spoke. She didn't flinch away, but she felt the fur along her spine prick.
"The Gathering should be starting soon," Brackencatch continued. "I should find a place to sit."
Brackencatch padded away with a curt nod toward Rosepaw. She wanted to follow her old friend, but stayed next to Ambernight and Pebblepaw. She was afraid if she went with Brackencatch he might not address her as a friend ever again. So she leaned against Ambernight, comforted by his soft fur. It seemed as if she had made a new friend, and she didn't want to lose him.

Waterstar was the last leader to make her announcement. The gray she-cat stood overlooking the cats below her. "Our apprentices have become warriors: Blossomash, Harryshade, and Muffinwhisper."
Faint yowls of congratulation sounded mostly from RiverClan cats, but a majority of the gathered cats stayed quiet for the former loners. The Gathering stared to break apart. Pebblepaw joined his Clan-mates.
Rosepaw stood to her paws. Ambernight started toward the group of WindClan cats, but stopped halfway, waving his tail for Rosepaw to join him. She purred and followed after him.
