This couldn't be happening. It just couldn't.

Twilightspeckle grieved to her dead step mother Vixennose. When the MorningClan cats has gone back to camp after full moon, they were reported that Vixennose was dead. Sandstar lost a life today, now Vixennose? StarClan, why are you punishing us like this?

Brightwind and Hollywhisker sat beside Twilightspeckle both grieving for their mother's death. Even the careless step father who has never visited the nursery did. He dropped his gaze to the limp white she cat.

"She—She was like a mother to me." Twilightspeckle mewed bitterly in front of the grieving clan mates. "Vixennose treated me no different from her actual kits. I loved her as if she was my real mother."

"Yes I loved her too." Hollywhisker said her eyes still fixed on her mother. "I think she was a kind, gentle, and the thoughtful mother a kit could ever wish for." The tortoiseshell she cat sobbed her nose sniffing as if to get every bit of Vixennose's smell.

All cats nodded an agreement. The closest cats to the dead she cat grieved for the whole night the moon settled  down and the sun rises up. Seagull began to sing as the cats knew what to do.

"It is time to burry Vixennose." Sandstar mewed as the cats closed their eyes. Brackenleap, Hollywhisker, Brightwind,  and Acornwind lifted up Vixennose's dead body. Twilightspeckle held up the dead queen's tail as the group of cats left the camp. They found a place where there were many seashells and where they could sea the sunrise beautifully.

"Can we put seashells around Vixennose's grave?" Twilightspeckle asked thinking about how much her step mother loved the small decorations to keep with. All the cats agreed as they split up on finding the seashells and digging for Vixennose's grave.

Twilightspeckle gathered beautiful seashells that sparkled by the dim sun. It shimmered and was pure white like Vixennose's favorites. She would've loved it. Twilightspeckle thought bitterly. Her warm scent, she wanted to breath it again and covered in her cozy fur.

The cats rested the dead cat in it's new grave as they buried her than decorated seashells near it. It was perfect for Vixennose, it represented her.

"Do not regret nor grieve too much young ones." Brackenleap meowed wisely gently patting Hollywhisker, Brightwind, and Twilightspeckle with his tail. "We must learn that life must go on with death. Do not make yourself blind by Vixennose's death, the one not may be now but your grieving must end soon. To save your fellow clan mates and not waste any death."

Twilightspeckle stopped sniffing and Hollywhisker and Brightwind nodded not powerfully, but respecting the knowledge of the elders words. Like Brackenleap said, the she cats must not be blind and to save the repetition of death to the other clan mates.

They silently went back to camp. Acornwind was anguished by his former mate's death now regretting what he have done. But his daughters wrapped their tail to their fathers showing forgiveness.

"Twilightspeckle!" Thunderclaw rushed to her side when they reached MorningClan's camp. "I'm so sorry about your mothers death. I,I..." The Fluffy black she cat stopped his meow with her tail covering his mouth.

"It is nobody's fault Thunderclaw. But I must not make her death worthless, I must find the murderer.' Twilightspeckle meowed her voice cracking still grieving. Thunderclaw nodded.

"I will help you too." He said his face full of determination, and showed the courage he always had. This was the real Thunderclaw Twilightspeckle knew; brave, confident, loyal, and the most caring cat in the clans. He was her mate, the best mate in fact.

When Thunderclaw was called on a border patrol, Twilightspeckle decided to eat. She must not be weak therefore needing energy to hunt down the murderer. The fresh-kill pile was full and had a good looking fish to eat. She picked it up and started to munch down in her favorite eating place.

"Twilightspeckle." Lightpelt emerged. "I'm sorry for Vixennose's death. She will be advantaged by taunting down the murderer. I will help you all I can." He said his kindness still existing even though Twilightspeckle broke his feelings.

"Than you Lightpelt." Twilightspeckle dipped her head. The yellow tom had shuffled his feet than started to bring up an surprising topic.

"Are you sure you can not except me as your mate?" Lightpelt asked his eyes directing looking at hers. "I, I just can't give up on you. There are no other she cat that is more outstanding than you Twilightspeckle. You are the most loyal, kind, caring, and the sweetest she cat I will ever know. Now and forever."

"I'm so sorry Lightpelt." Twilightspeckle answered directly answering. I have Thunderclaw, and no tom is better than him.

"I understand." Lightpelt stood up as he walked away from her. But before he was too far, he mewed with his voice sorrow and painful. "You will regret this."

She couldn't control what he thought. The black she cat broke his feelings, again. No matter how much she could care for her fellow clan mate he will still be upset. She made her think she loved him, and she did before. Now, Thunderclaw was her true love. Not Lightpelt.

Twilightmist started at the yellow tom slowly vanishing to the warriors den.
