 Mason's POV:

"I brought your favorite colors, Nina. Now, who wouldn't want that?" I holler as I walk through the overgrown park. Nina's favorite game was to hide herself in the wild bushes, set deep into the park and my favorite part was to find her and hold her close to me.

"It's better if you come out right now, Nina or I might have to come catch you myself." I glance at the tree beside me where she was standing with her back to me, oblivious to my eyes. I walk ahead, pretending that I haven't seen her.

She takes that moment to step out from behind the tree and I don't fail to notice her soft steps following me as I pretend to look around, calling out for her.

The moment she makes a move to pounce on me from behind, I turn and grab her arms.

"Caught you," I grin at her.

"What the hell, Mason! You always catch me...you can sometimes pretend to lose." She scowls at me.

"I can't help but win at this, Nina. There's no way you can ever escape me." I laugh out loud and she sulks while walking away from me.

"Don't be so boastful, Mason, one day I'm going to hide in a place you can never reach, and nobody can stop me from winning this game." She speaks the impossible and I snort at her absurdity.

"Oh, my sweet and innocent Nina, that is never going to happen."

"Mason, are you okay?" I hear Patrick's voice as my eyes open slowly and meet the blurriness of my vision. I blink twice before my vision clears and the seriousness of the situation catches up to me.

"How long was I out?" I ask him.

"I was calling you...to let you know that Weston has returned and his men have found out that Leah is with you but I was too late because when I came here a few minutes ago, everything was done and I found you." Patrick says and I stand up on my feet.

"Where did they take her?" I ask him.

"Klieger's villa...it will take more than two hours for us to reach there—,"

"Not us, I am going to go there by myself," I say as I pat my back to see that my weapons are with me.

"Are you fUcking kidding me, Lucifer? Do you have any idea about Weston's men? The place will be highly guarded...there's no way you can do this on your own," Patrick says as I bend down to retrieve my bloody knife and I walk backward to grab some tissues from the study table and clean the knife. Patrick is right but I don't want to risk his life.

"And what is this? I found this beside you," He holds the memory card out for me. I grab it from him. Leah must have dropped it...I wonder what they are grilling her about right now...I won't let that happen. I have to hurry.

"Don't worry about me, stay here. I'll call you if I need your help." I walk outside without sparing him another glance. Weston cannot get away this time. He cannot take Leah away from me...he doesn't know what's in store for her.

I mount Patrick's bike stationed outside the mansion. His key is already there and I throttle the bike once before cruising off toward my destination. Hold on for me, Leah.

Leah's POV:

"You're one son of a b! tch! This wouldn't have happened if you had killed her that day, but you insisted on seeing your daughter alive!" The shrilly voice of a female catches up to me when I open my eyes.

"Shut the fUck up, Savannah. She lost her memory and I wanted to be a good father to her without Tamara or that evidence creating a wedge between us but fate had other plans and she had to meddle in my affairs." The unfamiliar guy shouts at her.

"What are you going to do now?" Kellan asks him.

"I have no idea," The man runs his fingers through hi grey hair. Who is this guy? And where am I? Where's Lucifer?

"Lucifer will come for her...you should have ordered your men to kill him there too. Now, wake her up and ask her about the evidence, ask her where it is and kill her for once to stop this constant fear from keeping us guarded all the time." Savannah's frustration fills the air. I can't let them know about the memory card.
I feel for it in my hands and—I can't find anything...did I drop it or something? But where? Oh god, no, what if it got in some wrong hands?

"Oh, look she's finally awake," Aunt Meredith's eyes fall on me and she stands up from the couch to walk over to me and pat my head. The new man turns his attention to me and strides over to me as I lean backward hoping to escape him.

"Leah, are you okay, darling?" He asks as he tries to touch my head.

"Don't touch me," I glare at him and his face falls in response. Distress takes over his features and he closes his eyes briefly before getting back to smiling at me.

"Sweetheart, don't be scared of me, just tell me where those pictures and evidences are? I'm your father." Father?...So, he's... Weston, my so called father who wants to kill his own daughter.

"Where's Lucifer?" I throw a hard glare at him and he frowns at me.
"Lucifer is okay. You can go back to him once you give those pictures to me." He bits out. I'm glad Mason is alright and I know he will come for me; I have to just hold on for a little while.

"No, I can't because I don't have them." I tell them and their response is to throw furious looks at me.

Savannah even makes a move to come toward me but Kellan holds her back.

"Do you think you can fool us, Nina?...I read the letter too, but in all these years it never crossed my mind in that your prince's world could be that book...don't look so shocked, Leah...you are my daughter, your mother and I used to discuss your life with each other...your moments were favorite part of our lives."

"It didn't occur to me until I saw you take the steps to the old mansion...I know you have them, Leah. Be nice to your father and tell me where it is!" He screams at me at the end.

"I don't have it with me!" I yell back at him.

Weston seems frustrated now and pinches the bridge of his nose in distress.

"What scares her?" He asks Meredith. Meredith smirks at me before replying. What are they going to do?

"Shattering of glasses...she seems to get tortured by it, must be because of her accident." Meredith responds. No, you can't do that.

I stare at her, angry at her betrayal. She just shrugs at me, unbothered by my hatred for her.

"Then we will give her that," Kellan gives me a sinister grin before calling for his men and ordering for them to shatter the glass windows around us. They nod at him before walking over to them. One of them hits the glass with a sort of rod and it shatters...its sound going straight to the weakest part of my brain...revealing the hidden memory to me...

"Save my mother! Don't leave, Uncle Kellan! Please!" I had run after him but before I could get him, I clashed with the glass vases in the foyer and fell down on the floor in heaps of tears and sadness. I broke that day. I lost my strength that day."

"No, stop it!" I scream as the glasses continue to shatter around me, wreaking havoc on my mind.

"Tell me where it is!" Savannah screams at me.

"Please, stop it, I don't know!" I yell back as I fall from my couch and bundle myself up into a ball.

Finally, after what feels like forever, the torture ends and I lay there, shivering under the reverberating sounds in my head. Flood of tears wet my face as I try to find a light for me in this dark world. I want to get out of here.

"Where is it?" Weston squats beside me and strokes my head.

"I don't have the memory card with me...I dr-dropped it at the mansion," I find myself saying. My mind has been totally ambushed by my hidden memories and sanity is long gone. I want Mason.

"You left Lucifer there, and he must have taken it by now! I can't believe Rison made you the head of the clan after his death." Savannah shouts at Weston.

"Just stop it and figure out what we are going to do next." Kellan says as apprehension engulfs him in full swing.

"We will blackmail him into giving us the memory card in exchange for Nina. He wouldn't disagree with that...now that everything is kind of sorted between them," Meredith says and the three of them look at her.

"Would he do that?" Weston asks her.

"Meredith is right, of course he will." Kellan says.

"Fine, I'll be leaving then, inform me once you find the memory card. Good luck with that." Meredith waves at them before walking out of there. Lucifer would definitely do that if he has the memory card...I don't want him to do that.

"Sir, Lucifer is here!" Three of the guards come running into the room.

"Turn the cameras on him." Savannah orders them as the screens in the room fly in the direction of the front gates. He shoots right at the guards in the front.

"Just stop this delay and let him in." Savannah says, impatient to get her hands on the memory card.

"Why don't we play with him a little?" Kellan laughs as we watch Lucifer easily take down the guys at the front gates. He easily gets into the mansion where he encounters other men. His face is full of anger and desperation. He takes a few hits before taking the lead in the game and walks ahead.
Kellan walks over to me.

Three men shoot at him but he dodges them by hiding behind a pillar. He takes out his own gun and quickly manages to get rid of the guys shooting at him.

"Watch out!" I find myself shouting at him when someone hits his head from behind. Blood spills from the side of his head and he holds his head for a few seconds before being attacked by the men. It takes only a few moments for him to remain disoriented before he manages to disarm the guys off their moves.

He pants heavily while climbing the stairs as blood continues to spill down his face.

He encounters a few more men on the staircase and with great effort on his part; he manages to get rid of them. He looks weary and injured but still he continues dealing with the men.

I look away from the screens when I see him scream in pain as the guys attack him with knives, bruising him further. This is my entire fault...if I didn't try to look for the evidence then this wouldn't have happened...

"Ah, welcome Lucifer, you look quite tired. Is everything okay?" I quickly lift my head from the floor to see him, staggering his way over to us. His hard eyes look around before landing on me.

I manage to stand up on my feet, but mind is too tired to co-operate with my strength.

"Leah," Mason manages to call out.

"You mean Nina?" Weston asks him and Mason glares at him.

"Take this fUcking piece of shit and return Leah to me." Lucifer glowers at him. He throws the memory card by Savannah's feet and she quickly grabs onto it with a huge grin.

I walk toward Lucifer, but he reaches me before I can and engulfs me in his warmth.

"I guess, it's over now. We got what we want. Shall we leave, then?" Kellan asks his family.

"Maybe it's not over yet." Kellan grins, "Anyway, we will leave then."

"Are you alright?" Mason asks me and I nod my head.

"Yes, are you?" I ask him and he tightens his arms around me.

"I am now." He says, "No more revenge. I don't want your or me to do this. Let them be. I don't want to lose you again. I can't let you...I won't be able to live without you. Let's just get out of here...away from all of this...I love you so much, Leah, you have no idea how hard it has been for me without you...let's just end this here. Be with me."

I break out into continuous tears as I rest my head on his shoulder.

"Yes, just take me out of here." I say. I don't want anything now...not after getting so close to losing Mason.

"Let's go," Mason grabs my hand and breaks the hug.

We make a move to leave when suddenly fifteen men surround us.
"I told you, it's not over." Kellan says.

"What are you doing, Kellan?" Weston demands and in the next moment I see Kellan shoot Weston as well as Savannah. They drop onto the floor in a pool of blood and I gasp at that.

"Feels better now," He takes a deep breath before looking at us. Mason pushes me behind him.

"I think I'll leave you two to them. I'll take a leave then." He nods at his men who make their move on us. I grab fistfuls of Mason's shirt as I stare at the men, fearfully. Mason is too injured to fight them all at once, but he manages to keep me protected behind him.

Kellan walks out of there leaving us to them.

"Mason, we can't—,"

"I won't let any of them get to you." He says as he roams his eyes over the men, "Kellan might have gone out of here but he doesn't know what awaits him, outside. I've already emailed the memory card files to the media and the police. He won't get out of this."

One of them aims a punch at Mason but he manages to wrench it before tackling the other guys approaching him. The other men move in on him and continue their attacks on him. He fights them with all his strength but I can see how much he's struggling to hold them back.

He's already injured.

And I know he won't allow anyone to touch me without losing himself.

I don't want that for him or for me.

Mason pauses for a while amidst the fight and the men take that chance to pounce on him while I scream out his name. Tears fall in quick succession as I watch his body get painted by blood. In my peripheral vision, I catch two of the men approach me from my sides but I'm not scared as to what they would do to me. I'm scared that I would lose Mason...my only home.

One of them pulls on my hair from behind and I don't even try to escape as they push the pistol right into my chest. My breath hitches in that moment because I see Mason's fearful eyes. The men have all backed away and are just standing around him, pointing their guns at his head while he sits on his knees, glaring at the man holding me. He knows it. I know it too. We are fighting a lost battle.

Mason lifts his fingers and his mouth trembles like he wants to say something to me but he ends up signing something to me. His eyes droop in response to his pain. He's hurt and is trying his best to not give in to the headiness and the pain due to his injuries.

I don't understand what he's saying.

I scrunch my brows at him and the man pushes the pistol roughly into my neck and I realize how strenuous our places are right now. We are on the verge of getting disappeared.

We didn't get to have a beautiful beginning, but I hope we will have a beautiful ending...and doesn't matter if we lose each other in this fight...I know we will be together whatever the result.

I close my eyes when the click of the gun, ready to open fire, reverberates through the room and when I expect for things to take a drastic turn for the both of us, things immediately take a U-turn and when I open my eyes to gauge the scenario, I notice the guns have opened fire, but the bullets are not passing on us, they are flying in the air, making Kellan's men tumble on the floor one by one.

The man that was holding me has fallen on his back in a heap of blood behind me.

I step away from him and my eyes frantically turn in Mason's direction where I see Patrick and two other men defending him, aiming at Kellan's men. Patrick came for us and he brought help.

I look around to see the help we've got because Kellan's men are almost gone.

Like the air has just swallowed them up.

Without caring for anything else, I rush over to Mason and Patrick and the men give way for me as I sit on my knees by his side. He's breathing heavily like he's struggling to survive. No, this can't be happening, he cannot die on me. He cannot leave me.

"Mason! Mason!" I jerk on his arm as the sounds around us, fade. The situation perfectly captures our story, after all the unsolicited drama, comes a trembling silence.

"I'm alive, Leah, you're hurting me," He mumbles and I draw my hands away from him as he slowly opens his eyes. His lips gingerly stretch into a small smile and I weep in silence as I watch him.

"Are you okay?" I ask him through a raspy tone.

"Are you?" He asks me and I nod at him.

"I am fine too, then," He says and I fling myself at him, not caring about his wounds. He doesn't embrace me back but I know how much he wants to. He's too injured to do that. We lay there breathing in the much awaited peace around us. We lay there breathing in each other.

"Alright, listen up, the romance can continue later, but first let's get you guys treated," Patrick's voice breaks our little moment and we chuckle at that. I break the hug and help Mason stand up with the help of Patrick and two other men.

Mason looks at Patrick and I know he wants to say something to him but Patrick beats him to it.

"They are my biker friends, thought they could help us a little," He motions over to the dozen men standing by the sidelines, "Damn, Mason, I know you are enough, but sometimes you need friends and haven't you heard of that quote? A friend in need, is a friend indeed." He winks at him and Mason nods at him.

"Thanks, Pat," Mason whispers as his hand slides to hold one of my hands. If it wasn't for Patrick's intervention, we would be dead by now, but I guess sometimes things are just meant for you to realize that there's always a ray of light hiding somewhere in the darkness. Just like how Mason is my light.

"I love you," I whisper to Mason as tears well up in my eyes. He stares at me for a few seconds before leaning to whisper something to me.

"I love you more and you're the only one that will be allowed to mess with Lucifer." He winks at me and I give out a short laugh. Indeed.

  -THE END-

****

A/N: Hey there everyone, here's the alternate ending for DMWL. This isn't very detailed or interesting, it's a bit choppy in fact, but yeah, I hope you liked it.

If you're interested in Jon and Taylor's pairing then you can read the book His Devil Ways-which will be posted first on Radish and then on Wattpad.

Do check out my book Badboy's Property (starring my favorite pairing Francesco and Barbara (so very original but I love them).
