Hey guys! It's -Gnossienne- on Wattpad, also known as Bre. I'm very excited for my FIRST Wattpad block party with all of you!

I am currently procrastinating on a fantasy novel of mine called The Goblet of the King. It includes a cursed prince, a rogue assassin, deals with the devil and a whole lot of romance. It is more dark fantasy than anything, since it ventures into the idea of hell and fortune. If this is something you are interested in, make sure to follow me for updates on when that is published.

Now onto 5 ways to Gain an Audience!

1. Wattpad clubs

This is something I didn't know about until two years after making my first account. If you have no idea what the clubs are, it's a lovely Wattpad forum where you can meet new writers and readers. You can promote your story on a certain thread, request covers, talk about writing or even talk about your favorite fandom! Anything is possible in the clubs as long as you follow the rules and guidelines.

This is where I met my first follower MariaBlisse. It's been years, but I'll still remember her name. She helped me with writing and I got to meet more people. We checked out each other's stories, followed each other etc.

2. Show love to others.

To gain a reader, you must be a reader. Now this doesn't count for many people and it doesn't even count for me anymore. But when first starting out, this is a lovely way to connect with readers and writers alike.

I remember going to the new section of Wattpad genres and reading a new story. I voted and commented along the story, enjoying it as I went. I interacted with the writer and other readers within the story.

Many times, they'll do the favor back. I know I would. Showing love to the other Wattpadders develops friendship.

3. Slack!

If your goal is to gain an Audience through meeting new people, slack is a great option. Download the app and create a team, then invite all of your Wattpad friends to join. Allow them to invite people as well, and you have a big Wattpad group chat! An example of this would be the TFF chat run by thefaefolk. Joining that via the link under their bio will help you gain friendship.

4. Patience!

This post is to help you get started with your Audience. Do not focus on fame! I am sure most of you are here because you want to share your story with the world or to read all the books you can, not to gain as many followers as you can. I feel like focusing on fame does not ever help with your audience. Following 1,000 people in hopes that they will follow you back will not help you gain readers. It'll only gain people who want followers.

5. Never give up (facts about reads)

The main majority of people on Wattpad are readers. You may notice that through "silent readers" who never comment or vote. The main reason these readers don't do that is because they aren't used to a platform where they interact with the author rather than just reading a story. If you're a reader, chances are you'd like a completed book. Once you complete a book, your reads will soar higher. Never give up on your writing because of a number. Only about 5% of wattpad's population (3M people) makes it to 100 reads. That may be hard to believe, but with so many readers and people who give up on their writing, it is true. Celebrate that goal! A lot of the accounts that haven't seemed active for years (or have no activity) are actually still active. Like fact 1 says, a lot of Wattpad doesn't comment or vote. The average number per month that the total of Wattpad spends on the platform is 15 Billion minutes. Each user spends roughly 274 minutes on Wattpad monthly.
