Ok I've gotten out of my dark hole. I'm sorry you had to read all of that.

But truthfully I don't think Wattpad itself is the problem most awesome works out there don't get discovered.

It mainly has to do with the fact that majority of the readership on Wattpad are non-English speakers, or teenagers between the ages of 13 and 18.

Most of these kids are pretty shy and unsure. So, they read the first things they see on this site. Or the things that they can relate to most.

Simplified speech, relatable books about high schools far from the ones they even go to (majority aren't even in high school yet).

And we all know it's there so I'll say it from now.

Literature, especially those found on Wattpad, are all forms of escapism.

We read about alternate realities that we can never be in.

And that's why for the most part, which will lead to my next rant, the main MC is always female, always a plain Jane Mary Sue, and more often than not—a teenager.

So for the most part, Wattpad's not the problem.

Heck, it's doing a pretty great job at its stuff. I only get works I don't like reading in my recommendations a few times, they recommend great undiscovered works that I'd enjoy reading too and they try their best with their interactions with the community and ensuring a comfortable experience...for the most part.

And ey just do disclaim I wasn't paid anything to write this rant or anything. It's just that my previous dark hole stage where idgaf about life or my opinions has subsided and now I'm thinking logically and am back to being civil...for the most part.

Needless to say I'm going to go back to being uncivilised regardless after this, in the next four chapter give or take.

Eh. What can I say.

I just realised this book isn't even Wattpad pet peeves it's just random crap.

Am I changing the title?
