Pain's a gift to us
But nobody wants it.
Honestly,
Even I don't
Why does it have
To be
Like this?
So much to stand
Nobody likes it.
But now to me,
It's adventure
And lots of fun
Because I'm with you.
That's why I want to learn
Ways to live
Forever and ever
Ways to live
Forever and Ever
So I can stay with you.
Don't let yourself down
No matter how hopeless
Don't cross the bounds
No matter how reckless
And I won't
'Cause I need to learn
Ways to live
Forever and ever
Ways to live
Forever and Ever
And ever
And ever
And ever
And ever
With you.

I wrote this poem, song rather, when I read the book Ways to live forever by Sally Nicholls back when I was 12 or 13. It's not exactly based off the story, but somewhere along the lines.
I remember loving the hell out of that book, even when my friends didn't find it exceptional. It's a book about an eleven-year old Sam, who suffers from leukemia. He wants to try stuff he's never done before dying, and because he's dying, he wants to know about death too.
It's a very simple book, and it's amazing how the simplicity makes you feel so much. It's real, up until the death. What I loved the most about the book is that it was a book about death that didn't make me cry. Obviously, I got teary-eyed a little, but that lasted for like five seconds. The book made me feel all happy and butterfly-ish, and so damn hopeful.
It's a masterpiece and I wanted to write about this book since a long time, because not many know of it. I hope y'all read it once at least and learn a bit from Sam.
Signing off,
Gravity
:)
