Summer smiled, trying to hide her spinning brain. Her family, her pack, her old life, it was about to be left behind. Every wolf was grouped up in one big meeting, and one by one, every wolf came up to her and nuzzled her cheek. Some went the extra mile and licked her nose. 

   She howled and her family soon followed. She looked out into the night, it was a clear, with such crisp wind she started to shiver. This wasn't the best time to venture out, but there where few packs anymore.

   The wolves thought  it was because humans started to hunt them, but whatever the case was, there where few wolves. Pups started going out of their homes at around a year old, and packs have been reproducing like crazy. There was no such thing as a breeding season, it was breeding life now.

   Summer shook her head, she was spiraling. Her family, well, her old family now, was howling, encouraging her to take a step outside. When she did, it felt like the ground was just about as cold as the wind. Her body begged her not to go, but her brain took control. She began sprinting away, her paws feeling cold as ice.

   She felt like she was watching for miles when she smiled a new sent, that of a male wolf! She stuck her nose in the air, catching the wiff of the wolf. She soon saw two yellow glowing eyes piercing her soul, it was her potential mate. 

   She let the wolf come closer, her body shaking, she was half afraid, half excited. Suddenly, she felt a warm nose touch hers. She barked, and nuzzled him. She had never met any wolves outside the pack before, but this felt like an automatic connection.

  She closed her eyes, happy she had found another wolf. However, that happiness turned into fear as she felt a hand push her to the ground, that of a human.

The wolf was gone and instead there was a human in a maroon coat holding her down. She closed her eyes, waiting for the human to kill her. She felt liquid all over her body. "That must be my blood!" She thought, alarmed, and soon everything faded to black.
